Have a wonderful day, Steve! Love and lotza hugs, T.

Hi Brady! How very nice to see you again after all these years!

Plots et al We had a fantastic worship service this morning as well. Had a dozen babies baptized, and, miracle of miracles, not one cried. The choir sang, (forgive me for not being familiar with their selection, hence I don't remember it) had an inspiring sermon about perserving in the face of oppression, and the congregation sang "Great Is Thy Faithfulness" at the end. I love church.

With all due respect to Mark and Steve, I think Mike, you need psychiatric help as much as you need prayer. Amen.

I actually can peck out a song or two on the piano. Being married to a musician, and having kids who all play instruments, has got to be the worst for a mom. So I actually in my adult life have taken up the piano. Sheesh. I'd rather learn a foreign language or take algebra. :D-->

Speaking of Brits, I too am looking for some British friends. Does anybody know how to get in touch with Judi Ridings, 12th corps, or maybe 13th? I know she got married, but don't know her married name. Also, I'm looking for Bo (Henrick) and Val Linneman. I can't post my email, but a private topic will work. Thanks. T. PS Alfa, good to hear news of Bob and A. ;)-->

Can Deception Be Adequately Confronted?
ex10 replied to FreshAir 99's topic in Getting help for cult dysfunction
Seems to me the answer to the question is obviously a resounding "NO." Just a cursory look at the history of TWI proves that point, over and over again. -
mj Sorry you didn't get what I said. But I'm not gonna explain myself again. I feel like I've done that quite enough in these forums.

wow I've read this whole thread and am still wondering how I feel about the whole thing. I don't have anything really to add, except, the error (wrong doctrine) of the way runs much deeper than many of us dare to confront, on an emotional level. Yeah, sure, we can sift through the intellectual, bible knowledge, studying type stuff, but the emotional/psychological effects are a whole different story altogether. Some of us want to deal with it, some don't. C'est la vie. As for me, I don't wanna be an emotional cripple for the rest of my life. This is not a put down, just my perspective. I love you, Hope, for your honesty, and forthrightness.

Hope you had a wonderful day, Kit. Don't tell anyone, but you are one of my favorite posters here at the cafe. -
I think Jethro Tull and the Moody Blues are all born of the wrong seed.

Well, the sad thing to me is, that VP didn't even do a very good job of stealing stuff. he stole it, and then put his personal spin on it, and totally corrupted what he taught. It doesn't even much resemble the original, the way VP packaged it. Too sad for words.

What's the scariest movie you've ever seen?
ex10 replied to What The Hay's topic in Entertainment Archives
oh geeze When I was in college, my boyfriend took me to see "Texas Chainsaw Massacre." About 20 minutes into it maybe, I told him I wanted to leave. He wouldn't, so I sat in the lobby for the entire movie. It was horrible. I was so mad at said boyfriend for not taking me home, I broke up with him. Best thing I coulda done. :o--> -
...and how about the saddest movie you've ever seen?
ex10 replied to Hope R.'s topic in Entertainment Archives
"Love Story" with Ali McGraw and Ryan O'Neal. I haven't seen it in decades, but when I was a teen, I thought it was the most tragic movie ever. And of course, Dr. Zhivago. -
ah, ok, Hope Now I get it even better..... ;)--> I agree.

Hope I think I understand your point of view here. So I thought I'd offer my perspective as one who left TWI during the great Exodus of the late 80's. When I first started posting at Waydale, I actually had conversations via email, chat, IM, etc with TWI 2ers who actually blamed the corps and leadership of TWI 1 who either got fired or left, for the mess that TWI 2 became. The basic rationale was that we should've done more to expose the evil, yadda, yadda, yadda. Geeeeze, loooouise. That attitude expressed to me a total lack of understanding of what really happened during those final years of TWI 1. So, I think it's helpful to discuss and compare notes regarding TWI 1 as well, to shed some light on those happenings that determined the course of TWI 2. Of course some of us who weren't around for TWI 2 have a really hard time relating to what the way became. So I guess my point is, that I think both sides of the discussion are equally valid. I think the recovery process has got to be tons harder for those who have left in more recent years. So, I totally get your perspective. I just thought I'd add my 50 cents. aha! Now I get it.....You see, I AM the great hostess of cluelessness. I have elevated this rare gift to an art form. Do you think I should charge for lessons? :D-->
-
Ah, zix, I think my inner cluelessness is coming out cause I don't get it. Do I have to think too hard?
-
Ah, sockster, I threw you a bone, but you didn't even notice.......or was that a kitty treat? --> Anyway, my advice to you is..........tah, dah, drum roll, please....... Forget the dog, the cat's in charge anyway! :D-->

PS Another thought for the day... Once the cat is out of the bag, don't let him back in, no matter what he tells you. :D-->

Be not Unequally Yoked with Unbelievers
ex10 replied to Outin88!'s topic in Getting help for cult dysfunction
88 Wow 88. My brother was the one who organized that reunion. Did your wife end up going? Some people got offended because the only purpose of the reunion was to hang out, reconnect, play golf, whatever. My brother got tons of grief from some he contacted about it because it wasn't "spiritual" or some other such nonsense. But he went, and I think they had about 75 people or so show up for it. He had a great time and played alot of golf. :)--> I guess I should add, it was supposed a 10yr reunion, kinda like a high school reunion I guess. -
All I can say here is that if we had heeded our great teacher's admonitions, and truly mastered forgetfulness, unremembrance, and cluelessness, why, we wouldn't be in the soup today. Therefore, I'm calling on all you old grads to totally forget everything you've learned and discerned since leaving TWI, and return to your former state of cluelessness. Only then can the words of VP prevail in our day and time!
-
bowtie asked Bowtie I have worked this question diligently since 1998. (Yes, it took me 20 years to finally get around to it, but never mind that.) To forget to forget, is not to remember, but to enter another realm of spiritually we haven't yet been able to discuss.....cluelessness. Although mastering the art of forgetfulness IS the primary will of God, sometimes we have to settle for second or third best and simply remain clueless. Now let's not confuse forgetfulness, unremembrance, and cluelessness. All these terms have their place and represent the primary, secondary, and tertiary wills of God. Can you guess which of these spriritual principles I have mastered? Wyoman, at last, someone who recognizes ME for the great ME that I am. Everybody else who has posted on this thread, I'm just gonna ignore, well, just because...... Have a nice day. :)-->

Hey, Wyoman, I might have an opening.....Do you do pedicures, too? :D-->
