Getting back to the topic of being self-aware..... I think there are other methods, besides journaling that keep us there. Over the years, I've developed close friendships with people, that involve conflict, sadness, having to work things out, etc. that keep me aware of who I am, just as much as writing does. To have close, intimate relationships, can do the same thing. I quit writing when I was young, because I realized it was a crutch for me, that kept me from confronting issues in my life, that I needed to deal with, with real live, in the flesh people. Maybe for some, it helps consolidate, verbalize what needs to be said, done. But for me, I've found it much more better to bounce stuff off a friend, talk to who needs to be talked to, and then remember it. Some of the stuff I wrote, when I was younger, caused alot of pain. I made the mistake of letting someone read a bunch of stuff I wrote, and it was hurtful, and caused alot of suffering, for them to read it on a page, instead of talking, touching, listening to me. I think writing in a journal can be cathartic, refreshing, illuminating in many ways. But it can't replace working on my closest relationships, and discovering who I am meant to be, in the grander scheme of things. I think if journaling is your thing, it should be kept to ones own self, and not be shared. Just my own humble opinion. Love

Not to mention, the lack of understanding of what it means to "make Jesus Lord."

Someone who used to post in these parts, LarryP, put it wonderfully, I think. He said: "Being involved in The Way, was like pouring miracle grow on all your own particular character flaws."

Hope it's a great day for you and yours, WW.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra - Winter 2006 Concert
ex10 replied to ChasUFarley's topic in Movies, Music, Books, Art
Hi Chas. Funny you mention this concert. They are going to be here in Houston the day before my son's birthday, Dec. 17th, and he really wants to go. So does Hubby. So I think we'll just take the whole family and make kind of a day of it. Thanks for the review. -
Ha, Twinky. I think mushy peas are the reason God invented England.
-
I'm sorry, jonny, for being condescending and saying "whatever." It was rude and I shouldn't have said it. My "know it all smart butt" was showing.... Peace? Love? You gotta admit it is fun talking! I haven't had this much fun disagreeing with someone since my brothers and I last talked. (Over the week-end!)
-
Aw, but Tommy, we were having so much fun.....
-
I love mushy peas! ;) especially with shepherd's pie.

Happy Birthday to you! And many warm wishes!

Let's all keep talkikng around in circles. Tis much more comfy to talk about the problems with our legal system, how we all feel, what our religious beliefs are, and what we would do if we were king, than the real issue. :B)

Doctrines of The Way Ministry that do not line up with truth
ex10 replied to year2027's topic in About The Way
I love you, my brother. It takes a very big man to apologize. -
Whatever, Jonny. Review 8th grade civics. Our court system was established so that citizens, CITIZENS, not subjects, not slaves, could air grievances. Seems these citizens have a grievance to be aired.
-
Maybe you think that, Jonny, but some things are worth fighting for. I happen to think this cause, is worth it. We all pick and choose our battles. Maybe it ain't yours. Fine. But it is somebody elses. And they deserve a platform.
-
Ok, Jonny, not we're "gettin down to the heart of the matter...".to quote Don Henley. I think you are gloriously missing the point. You are making a huge assumption, and assertion, that the men who were the recpients of this grossly unacceptable social behavior in these our United States (where freedom rings for all,) are sueing, "just for the money." (pardon the quote, I don't know if you said it or not, it's just the implication, sorry) You are judging their motives, and that's what I take issue with. How do you know what their motivation is? Have you ever been subjected to such gross public humiliation? Just because your race is a minority? that has a bad history of being mistreated, (persecuted, misjudged, etc. think of more adjectives if you will) in this our fine country? The issue is far deeper than you make it out to be. That's what I take issue with. Yeah, and ps love you too, that's why we can talk like this. We know each other and are ok with who we are. Hugs.

Hope you have a wonderful day, Ron!

Geeze, jonny, so it ain't your thing. You don't have a dog in this fight, so why keep on? Why do your values have to be everybody elses? If I was in the recipient of this kind of treatment, I guarandangtee ya, I wouldn't let go of it. Respect who these people are, and what they stand for. Please?
-
Hi dear roy You probably already know this, but just a reminder. ;) You know it's important to take your medicine. Just pleeze keep doing it, because we would rather have you with us. Okay? Love you and many hugs

Sorta Johniam, the incident you mentioned, if it did happen, happened in the 60's, when said personality was just another ball player on the team, not anybody with a microphone or an audience. I hardly see the parallel. Ok, resume talking amongst yourselves....

So, tommy, would this qualify as a Shiner Bock occasion?

Y, It seems you've misjudged our friend Roy. :( -
Hi Rob There are plenty of copies of Waydale floating around on CD. So even if the thread doesn't show up here, I'm sure somebody has it. :D
-
Just had to wish you a happy day, and send many warm wishes your way.

Imagine, There is a man named Frank Viola, who has been involved in "house churches" for many years. He has alot of resources and articles, books, etc. for home groups. His website is: www.ptmin.org. He has some pretty interesting ideas. Enjoy!
