Just thought I'd let everyone know about CNN's Larry King tonight, where he's interviewing several ex-Children of God members. There's some striking resemblences to what ex-twi'ers have gone thru with similar damage done to their followers who leave. Also Larry has a Psychotherapist, Rachel Berstein on, and an older ex-member, Miriam Williams, who wrote a book called, "Heaven's Harlots: My Fifteen Years As a Sacred Prostitute in the Children of God Cult", who was drawn to the cult in a similar fashion as some of us were to twi. I've also watched an HBO documentary on the Children of God cult too, called Children of God: Lost and Found, very good documentary, with eerie similitarities to twi in a lot of ways.

DWBH, if you were so "seedy" then how did they explain that old vic went to see you right before he died when he went to Gartmore and also when he returned. How do they explain their "Father in the Word" seeking you out like that? Hmm?...Typical. A bunch of freakin losers, pulling stuff out of thin air, as usual. I can't tell you how many times some conniving, manipulitive, busy body went over my head to gossip and tell lies about me, just so they'd look like some spiritual one and look good before the leadership by putting me down. It was amazing how whithin certain circles that kind of thing was tolerated and welcomed by upper echelon leadership-everyone wanting the inside track information on other believers. I look at Lonnie back then when he was holding meetings on the beach in Costa Mesa, and doing mass baptizings in the ocean there, and from what I know of Ted W*se, Steve He*fner and jimmy Do*p back then too for that matter, and think, that's what we should have been like. Before twi, before the knowledge that puffeth up, when it was all about God and helping people, and when Jesus was still the Savior. Vpw sure effed it up and turned us from the straight and narrow path.

I think hindsight is 20/20, in the instances of confronting the mogs and going further. I also think the organization, vpw and the others involved in the sex practices were ruthless in their dealings with the victims whenever they were confronted with being outed. I think vic earned his chops in that regard way before twi when he got his secretary in Van Wert pregnant. I don't believe for a minute that those leaders in charge of twi just became so viscous overnight in the '80's and '90's, I think they learned it from vic and coward long before that, the ruthlessness, the expendability of people, the purposeful usurary of women for sexual gratification, the humiliation and the disparagement of the individual, the playing of the "possesed" card, the supression of any stories leaking out, the refusal to answer direct questions concerning any victim, the refusal to talk to the victims if confrontational, the use of armed thugs, the use of rape drugs, the use of attack dogs to put the teeth behind their words, the protection of the ministry's and leader's image-the ministry be not blamed at all costs, the organization and the leaders being the most important and not the individual, and the swapping of love of God for corporate integrity. I believe all these things were born of VPW first and foremost, and any and all were used against the individual if anyone got out of controll and became confrontational or liable to talk. I believe this is exactly why no one went to the cops, why vic needed body guards and dogs, why some were driven to committing suicide in dispair, and why no single victim's protests ever saw the light of day. I also think most still believed the ministry was from and of God, that they still believed it was a ministry of deliverance because they personally had been delivered in their beginning years in the ministry, believed God is what drew them to the ministry in the first place and therefore were not after the destruction of twi or those in charge. Rather, I think those involved wanted to help fix it or just leave it and not wage war. Back then, I don't think everyone had really put 2 and 2 together and determined the Word we were all taught and believed was so twisted and convoluted, and from a plagerized cocktail of sources. That came much later, a victims head would have been swimming just from the betrayal of vp, et al, especially since those of us in the Corpse all thought of the ministry as furthering our purpose in life, and the vehicle for word over the world, etc., where else could you go, what else could ever measure up to that cult status? I also think that most female victims would internalize their feelings and blame themselves as a majority of sex victims do, the need to set it right and lash out at the purpetrator might be a male thing to do, but not necesarily what females do as victims of something so intimate and damaging to themselves.

ok, then were the rumors of orgies true? If there was male on male interaction durring those was it accepted? It seems twi accepted gays to a certain extent before martindale got a bee under his bonnet and crucified them at some point in the '80's or '90's.

I'd call it a brilliant move, if I was in the business of develoing a pristine fascade of being SP & A, while collecting large amounts of money and having free access to it, building a system to keep that money coming in, and collecting as many young willing women,and a few who weren't, who would be available to me whenever I wanted to satisfy myself, then I would create a system with which I could desparage and run out anyone I needed to who got too close to blowing my cover. Developing a culture where someone could get destructive "information" about someone else, and use it against them publically or in certain circles, at the user's discretion, while dangling a carrot in front of all the minions that "they too could be like this and have these discerning powers", would be a perfect rouse to further my own interests. Everyone would fawn over me as being the Supreme Poohbah, and I would have a foolproof way of getting rid of EVERYONE and ANYONE who threatened by empire.

The fact of the matter is that twi supported dissmissive treatment of wives, especially in public, mirroring VPW's example. It was a known quantity in the WC that the man shouldn't be "criticized" or "corrected" by his wife in front of others. For bullies it was an enabler, and for those who were'nt, it turned some well intentioned new husbands into wife wranglers, so many just swallowed what they were taught and embraced the twi culture in this regard.
