  1. Those were some great clues GSG! I will post a new clue later today...
  2. Wow, that is shameful the way they cut you off like that Twinky, where's the love in that?.. trying to dump you and your luggage in a strange city in the dead of night, how horrible! It shows how CG was an extension of the mindset of vpw, the rapist, not giving a wit about anyone else, a wolf in sheeps clothing. No wonder they forced him out of Gartmore, I'm sure they had many reasons for doing that to him that are unknown to us, but well founded, probably the best move ever made on behalf of the believers in the UK and Europe!
  3. Thanks gc and Twinky, for the recipes, I'm sure I'll have better success next time. There are some great traditional Brit recipes that are simply the bomb, its a wonder why they are not well known here. My mother in law is from Wales, I have an incentive to try these recipes! Do you live in the UK too, gc?
  4. Thanks everyone, geisha, gc, and Twinky, those are some great recipes!!!! Those links are great, gc, and your bread recipes too, I love, love, love Banana Bread, those links also have a lot of good recipes too. I should have done a search for your Sticky Toffee Pud recipe Twinky, thanks for reprinting it, I tried to do the sauce separately the last time I made it, and it didn't come out the way I wanted it to, I'm going to try it like in your recipe-in the same pan, sounds delish! Geisha, I've never had Indian Pudding, the recipe sounds like it would be good on a cold winter's nite...it sounds like you have a big apple crop still, have you tried canning? There's some killer canning recipes for apples, and it's really not that hard to do once you get used to it, plus you can give them away as gifts!!! You can can apple pie filling, apple sauce, apple butter, apple jelly, cinnamon candied apple slices, etc. You also can make these recipes and freeze them in containers instead of canning in a water bath, for that matter you can make apple pies and freeze them unbaked as well. Have you tried making apple cider? Here's a how to link: http://www.allsands.com/food/recipes/apple...reci_tsm_gn.htm Good luck with the apples!! Thanks again everyone-great recipes!!
  5. I'm so glad you're talking about Brit food! We actually have a cafe two towns over that specializes in pasties, I've made pies, but never pasties, it would be fun to try. Twinky, your recipe for Chicken and Mushroom Pie looks just like our Chicken Pot Pie, you can even get them frozen at the grocery store here, they're a comfort food, although homemade is much better. I've been searching for a good recipe for Sticky Toffee Pudding, you wouldn't happen to have one you'd like to share, would you? I tried making it before and it just didn't turn out right, I'd like to find a good recipe, it's not something that alot of Americans bake, although I think they should, it's a great desert! Cheers!
  6. You are correct...You figured it out early on....You're up!
  7. This one should be fairly easy to figure out...anyone want to take a stab at it?
  8. You so smart George! Yes, I needed a name as the title, and you got it right...is it ok to say I need a name as a hint?
  9. Socks, the sad thing is, those who stuck around twi into the late 90's have already been exposed to it and are preprogramed to swallow that swill they call Way Prod, those of us who got out in the 80's were'nt quite as thoroughly programmed to accept such a low standard. That stuff makes you want to loose your religion.
  10. What makes me sick is, I remember Vpw saying things like, "I would rather be the one taken advantage of than be the one taking advantage of another", like he gave a crap about people. He used that line as a set up to get us all malleable for him to take advantage of us! What a big effn liar he was, saying things like that while he was raping and pillaging us all!
  11. Ha ha ha...LOL!! You're a comedian Jim! That was a good one! What an embarrassment, eh?
  12. I'm so glad I got off the vpw treadmill (bound for the land of no return) when I did... all these people in offshoots and those still hangin round twi, are still being deceived. Thanks for lowdown on those down lower, DW, I remember D. S. made his rounds back in the 90's scooping up many extwi believers who were looking for signs and who'd lend him an ear, so glad I missed that bus when it came round.
  13. Hey, how’d the big shoot go? Well, it went splendidly, Dad. I thought you were going with them to the airport to pick up Freddie. Yeah, I decided to stay home, do some decorating. . Ah yes, that magical time of year when the Great Wall of China and my apartment are the only two man-made structures visible from space. .... Well, that was a yummy little stocking stuffer. Yes. She’s the one I told you about. The girl with the accent. Oh, yes. God, she could read me the phone book, and I would melt like an overripe Camembert. Imagine what she would do with that – [imitating her] Camembert. R-R-R-Roquefort. Reblochon. Blu. We’re terrible!
  14. 5 pics need a name in the last pic
  15. He is certainly the "foreman" of this forum!
  16. Of course, err on the side of caution, no rush, but I bet you are right! I always wait for confirmation, George usually pops up in the a.m...
  17. I too have a friend in another state, who goes to a geerite fellowship, who absolutely will not leave, even though she knows about vp. She actually thinks I'm the one who'se copped out since I'm not involved in any offshoot! She started doing her own fellowship a few years back when she was in an area that had some pretty screwed up fellowship coordinators, but now since she's moved to a new area, and likes the people in the fellowship she goes to, they're young and active in recruiting, she won't leave. She has a need to belong and a need to be right. It would take a lot of self examination for her to determine what she's dedicated herself and her family to for the past 20 years, is a bunch of bunk. I don't think she wants to go there, and she is quite resistant to hearing about anything contradictory to what she already believes. As with most people, unless something bad or horrific happens to them personally, they don't change their perceived loyalties very easily. It is very hard to be objective when it deals with friendships and biblical belief systems. If twi hadn't turned on me in the 80's I don't know how long it would have been till I figured it out, or ran across someone who could enlighten me. What is the basis of the loyalty of your friends to twi, is it the people, the doctrine, the deliverance they had when they were new, is it the need to belong to something that they're comfortable with? Determining why they're there might hold the key to where you can help them find the way out. Good luck, I hope you can open their eyes.
