  1. Have a great time to all the Texas BBQers!!!!!
  2. It is interesting to note that about 22 million more voters cast their votes for president in this election compared to the 2000 election of Gore vs Bush. Obama earned about 7 million more voter's votes than McCaine...that's a lot of people...
  3. Geisha, isn't Treacle just the same as dark molasses, just a little bit lighter than blackstrap molasses? In the states we have a store called Cost Plus-World Market, and it carries a lot of Brit foods, and Whole Foods Market have clotted cream in a jar, but its not the same, better to make your own, or find a local dairy who'll make it, although I've heard there's nothing like what you can get in the UK. There are a few restaurants in town where I live that actually have it on the menu, a British pub, and a few tea houses that serve a traditional English High Tea.
  4. Wow, a lot of nostalgia on this one, I have only very vague memories of this series, but I do remeber watching a lot of My Three Sons, and westerns-Gunsmoke, Bonanza, Rawhide, Branded, and Maverick when I was a kid, the theme songs were everything back then, we even made up alternative words to some of them... I actually have a bit of trivia related to The Fugitive though, my San Francisco attorney served on the prosecution side of one of the trials of the case the tv series was based on, and there really wasn't a one armed man in the actual case.
  5. That's great SF, what made you pull the plug?
  6. Hey Kimberly, there's a question George St George is asking you in the Reading Room forum in the What Movie is This thread, go check it out.. To find out why WD is singled out you should look up the original Losing the Way thread in the GS Radio forum, and the Boot the Wierwille Apologists thread in the About the Way forum, although even after reading them, you still might not understand, alot was deleted from the original..... I trust Paw and his mod staff to keep the peace..... Back to the subject of Obama's Presidency, I just came from the ER, and one of the medical staff told me they were dead quiet on election night till Obama was declared the winner, then a flood of cardiac related seizures came in immediately afterward. The hospital is located in a very affluent Repulican area of town...the staffer told me one older lady got so mad that Obama won, she walked up to her huge 37" TV and shook it so hard it fell on her shin-ouch! I guess if you were told Obama is a Marxist and a terrorist, and actually believed those falsehoods, then you would think we're in a world of hurt...the mind is a terrible thang. I prefer to hope for the best and prepare for the worst.
  7. I concur, peeling winter squash is a chore, I like the kind of peelers used in this video: My two favorite ways to use butternut squash is to boil it and simply puree it as a side vegie, or turn the puree into soup just like pumpkin soup, by adding a little maple syrup, chicken stock, chinese five spice, butter and some cream. I've actually made squash pies out of butternut and they turn out similar to pumpkin pies. This recipe looks good too, thanks coolchef, that's an outside the 9 dot box way of using squash, I'll have to try it.
  8. Ok, thanks for the big hint, the series was a little before my time, I think my bedtime was way before it showed at night, but I think the answer you're looking for is.....The Fugitive?
  9. Anyone.....?? The answer is within the previous post....
  10. Honey Bee Polin Honey Comb Larva Engine Motor ????
  11. One thing about Americans is, even if some of us didn't vote for the guy, we will still give the new President a chance , just looking at how much we put up with Bush & friend's anticks proves that, I think the country for the most part has rallied around Obama and will let him get his legs under him.

    Cat whispering

Good work Twinky, Crypto sounds like she's becoming a real people cat, congrats! About the peeing, sometimes cats pee around the house cause they're upset, maybe Tuxee is upset or something is different with her ordinary routine-perhaps that is what inspires her to sully your white rug?

    Cat whispering

The only thing I know of that people have done, sans making the cat an outside cat, is to make an escape hatch either thru a window or a door or in a wall and put a kitty door there. Then build a kitty aviary outside around the opening with a roof and wire walls, a perch, and relocate the kitty box there, with the option of going on the ground. That might solve some of the problem, I don't know if it will solve all of the problem, cats like to mark their territory, I don't know if there's some sort of alpha cat punishments you can employ that they will always respect, my friend used to use a squirt bottle with water...
  14. I'm in America, in the SW too, my MIL is from Wales, but lives here. Hey, what's the reaction in the UK to Obama getting elected as President?
  15. Maybe she/we needs a hint George, is this in the Science Fiction genre?
  16. You should go again waysider, I do remember that song, except I would have needed the chorus, which contains the title, to be able to guess it. I remember the tune, but not the lyrics on paper, just the chorus.
  17. This one doesn't have nekid girls or boobs, but most of them do, he hasn't changed that much!!!! George also still specializes in jaming words together for the clues. Arm, muscles, flex Meow, cat, kitten Ives, burl
  18. Congrats PurpleDays, you are right on! You're up!
  19. It's very beneficial to have our eyes opened, we are no longer betwitched by vpw or the twi organization, but in reflecting upon what could have been, it is clear many of us have paid a price for our association with that group.
