ah darn, I don't watch tv... I'm sure the commercials make the burgers taste better... political incorrectness always adds extra flavor to whatever I'm eating/drinking/doing.... not saying Carl's Jr. doesn't make a good burger... they do.

I don't know if I should post in the 0-20 thread, I was in for 20 years and 6 months, maybe a little more. about 4 months after my PFAL anniversary, they told me they wanted to recognize me with a 20 year certificate. that's when I cut ties.

I agree that the mods should be the first line of defense... but I'm of the mind that if someone resorts to threats, insults and name-calling, the gloves are off. that kind of thing is not what PM's are for, that's not privileged communication, that's sneaky and cowardly. if you want to insult me and call me names, do it in public. I have no patience for bullies who do their dirty work behind closed doors where no one can see. CK is insane, but at least he is indiscriminate in his abuse and does it in public where we can ALL laugh at him.

waysider, it's a common tactic to withhold information when asked a direct question, either from fear of being exposed or out of a sense of power and superiority. possible both are at play here.... but this is what I gathered from my study of ck's earlier posts in an attempt to understand him (which also led me to believe he'd benefit from intensive therapy and medication, don't have to be a doctor to recognize delusions and deviousness)... ck has never attended a twi fellowship, or if he did he was too young to remember it. his parents, who are the authority on all things spiritual and smarter than God himself, were with twi back in the vpw days. his parents were vpw yes-men and continue to elevate vpw to some kind of messianic position. what is unknown is when and how they left (did they get kicked out? did they leave when vpw died and Lord Loy took over? dunno.) at any rate, ck believes ONLY what his parents have told him. there is no other Truth. because his parents recollection of their experiences are the only Truth, no one can have experienced anything differently. no harmony of the gospels, man. no scriptural build-up. just flat-out rejection of facts that don't fit with what his parents say happened, and God knows since they were so great, that God told them everything and that they know everything that was going on at all times, which is how ck KNOWS that none of the negative, abusive, sad, destructive stories related here could have happened.

the only framework in which ck's hypothetical take on "truth" could be valid is one in which alien abductions are not only commonplace, but targeted at TWIts. it must be some grand experiement in human psychology and mind control... watch out, they're figuring out how to control us... only ck is immune...

william, your response was better than mine. when subjected to those screaming sessions (with my then-husband standing by, fully supporting what was being done to me) I crumpled and lost myself. the depression was horrific but I could not leave. if I'd stood up to them and told them off like they rightly deserved, maybe I would have been kicked out and my life would have changed for the better much sooner... but by then I had kids and being put out of the house and leaving my kids is not something I think I could do. it's just sick thinking that they'd verbally abuse someone like that, then effectively steal all their belongings and send them out with nothing. twi is full of bullies and thieves. nothing justifies doing that to someone. maybe we should compile a book of personal stories, like you said it would be of encyclopedic proportions.

you have hit the nail squarely on the head. ck evades giving proof for his position because he has none. as you pointed out (and he stated) vpw is his lord and savior. and we're all supposed to bow down and worship? hellz no!

I'm sorry, I have to revisit this statement (really everyone, I am sorry!) because T-bone found it confusing and so did I, and as I read it in quotes in another post, I realized why. "talking about you in general": you, used generally, means everyone. if ck had meant T-bone, he would have said "talking about you specifically". so, ck said we're all usually ok but when it comes to us, all hell breaks loose. see, it really doesn't make sense. T-bone, it wasn't about you, so your first reply to his post about "you" (GS'ers in general, as clarified by the above) was actually appropriately framed and it wasn't your bad for mistaking ck's meaning. if ck meant something other than all of us in general, he should have indicated you specifically. just had to clear that up.

Abigail, I hear you. I posted with something of a sardonic tone in my heart, because I don't feel that I'll find "healthy fellowship" anywhere organized by people who want to impose their interpretation of what God wants for me onto my personal life. I'm not really interested in joining any group, I'd rather pick and choose the people I want to share my heart with. healthy fellowship is established on a one by one basis, not in a group who dictates who I should respect and heed because their "prophesy" or "revelation" is more godly.

I might add that there is respect for the laws of the land, and where domestic violence is not swept under the carpet for the sake of keeping families intact.

I know this is a reeeaaaally old post, but I'm pretty new and just getting around to reading the tracker posts. Lindsay is very, very in, sadly so.

I'm bumping this up because I'm interested in finding out what happened to her as well... ever hear anything, THW? last I heard she'd cut ties with...Dennis...and taken a hiatus from twi and was just coming back, single and with a young child. she'd also changed her name.
