  1. tuition payments aren't listed at all. this is definitely a donation, and donations often come with strings attached. since twi doesn't disclose financial things to anyone, the only way to find out is to ask the University, and I don't know yet how much they can reveal. whatever I find out, I'll post here.
  2. I have to call you out on using the word tremendous like that.
  3. you're confusing me. who are you talking to? your post needs some context because you seem to be accusing the lot of us of something (not sure what yet) including not giving peace a chance.
  4. do you think that was revelation, or the realization that skeletons tend to fall out of the closet when the door is opened? anyway, forgiveness doesn't require putting the rose-colored glasses back on.
  5. it was one of lcm's tirades at one of the latter RoA's. and yes, he had quite a lot to say about how pathetic it was that in a contest where the best of america's females compete, that a deaf girl was not only allowed to compete, but actually won. I believe he explicitly said we're weakening the human race by accepting such deformities as normal and making way for them to do what normal people do. if it wasn't explicit, it was certainly strongly implied. maybe others remember that... uh... "teaching" and can add their recollections.
  6. this has taken a turn to the absurd. "MOSES was a plagiarist, so what vpw did wasn't wrong. he was da MOG!" sounds a lot like: "King David could have any woman in the kingdom, so what I did wasn't wrong. I was da MOG!" sound familiar? using men of God in the bible to excuse crimes is really pathetic.
  7. I'm finding it's very typical for non-profits to make their financial information available. obviously twi has reasons to hide what happens to the money. as long as no one knows, no one can question.
  8. I'm glad the boiling on the stove worked for you. I did that once and almost expired from the fumes! I didn't think to mention it because I usually burn stuff onto the bottom of the pans too and the stove thing only works for the inside... but yes! isn't it awesome to have shiny pans? I'm glad it worked for you.
  9. hey Tony, I went to twig with you. I will not reveal my secret identity here, but I tried to PM you and can't!

  10. that's right, dooj. I switched to cast iron and high quality steel for exactly that reason. a couple of my pans look funky, because I did discolor the metal, but if a pan's not warped beyond use, and if the layer of heat diffusion material is intact (the heavy bottomed pans usually have a layer of something) then they're fine. they just don't have the same non-stick qualities that they ought to if they have burned food stuck to them. and bow, I found that sticking them in the dishwasher didn't take off that kind of burnt. gotta soak 'em, extra strong solution, start with a half hour and test to see how soft the gunk is.
  11. cc, I disagree that condemnation of self is healthy. I looked it up. to pass such a judgment on self is unforgiving of self. no, I can condemn a position I previously held, or condemn a habit I want to change. but I'm doing it for love of self, not in self-condemnation. self-condemnation is: I'm bad, unworthy, I don't do anything right, no one loves me because there's nothing lovable about me, I hate myself, blah blah blah. in twi it was I'm in debt, I don't ABS enough, leadership doesn't trust me, I don't give enough of my time, I haven't brought anyone new to fellowship in weeks, we haven't run a class this year and it's my fault for not witnessing, my kids misbehave, my husband's shirt has a hole in it, there's a dead leaf on my doormat. American Heritage Dictionary con·demn (kən-děm') Pronunciation Key tr.v. con·demned, con·demn·ing, con·demns 1. To express strong disapproval of: condemned the needless waste of food. 2. To pronounce judgment against; sentence: condemned the felons to prison. 3. To judge or declare to be unfit for use or consumption, usually by official order: condemn an old building. 4. To lend credence to or provide evidence for an adverse judgment against: were condemned by their actions.
  12. youch, bow. you'll scratch the finish doing that! I regularly burn my pans because I'm an airhead. they won't ever be the same, but I've managed to get them to look decent most times. what do you mean by "scorched" though? is the metal discolored, or is there burned food that you can't scrub off? I've fixed the burned food thing by soaking them in hot water with boiling water to raise the temperature (stop up the sink, boil water in pan, fill sink with mix of hot and boiling water) mixed with gel dishwasher detergent. there's something in there that dissolves everything at high temperature. let 'em soak a long time.
  13. doubtful, because that kind of benefit in the real world is called "tuition reimbursement". and, if it was a staff benefit, why was it all done on the d/l? I've never heard about donations to universities in all my years in twi. the only time I ever heard of any twi money going to an outside source, it was after 9/11 when some undisclosed amount went to the red cross. whatever this is, I figure they think people would be unhappy to find out about it, otherwise why not disclose such things? I'm never again giving money to an outfit that doesn't publish a financial statement for its members. if it can be done on the sly, it will be.
  14. well, that is a lot of money then. I don't have contacts who will speak with me anymore, but I might have friends with contacts. I'll check it out.
  15. guess they civilized the love right out of them.
  16. yeah, no kidding. making fun of miss america because she was deaf is pretty poor form. it went beyond making fun, it went to the point of laying the necessary groundwork for embracing eugenics.
  17. I think you're right, GT. it looks like it is cumulative. in 2003 they're listed as a gift-in-kind donor as well.
  18. the whole thing is pretty stinky. I never heard a word about this when I was in. I wonder how they'd explain this away? I'm sure that the TWIts will explain it away for themselves, but I think I'll drop this on some people I know, make sure word gets out about what the "ministry" is spending money on.
  19. 2003 report: http://utfoundation.com/File/AnnualReport/...lreport2003.pdf 2004 report: http://utfoundation.utoledo.edu/File/Annua...0Report2004.pdf 2005 report: http://utfoundation.com/File/AnnualReport/...lReport2005.pdf they don't have a new on online yet, or older ones that I can find. sorry I was slow getting those up. and thanks RRII for putting that up. the 2003 annual lists the same donor level too.
  20. I do it by remembering that I'm human. some days I remind myself over and over that I no longer answer to anyone in twi, and I'm not the judge of anyone else. I work really hard at being kind to my kids, and make light of their goofy screw ups so they don't grow up to be messed up in the head like me.
  21. hey, guess who turned up in UT's 2004/2005 donor list? so far, somewhere between $300k and 1.5 million of twi's ABS has been given to a university attended by one of the wierwille offspring. I'm so comforted to know that the reason older corps were dropped without social security and without retirement savings was so that my money could help do this great thing... whatever it is.
  22. UT's 2003/2004 annual report also lists twi cumulative giving at the same level.
