  1. Live Chat has been upgraded to the latest and greatest. Now you decide which GreaseSpot should use, Live Chat or FlashChat. Unfortunately, the "Who's Chatting" section can only show for one of the chat rooms at a time. For now, it will be showing FlashChat. Latter on, we'll switch it over to Live Chat, then tally the results.

    our split rail fence

Very nice picture. I love split rail fences.
  5. John, are you getting yourself Marked and Avoided again? Things change, but never really change now do they? They can't handle a little discussion that indicates some error in their doctrine so what do they do? Kick out the person. So what's changed?
  6. Very interesting thread about a guy going by the handle Matt, who was searching for a church, stumbled on TWI's web site, GreaseSpot, and the Boston MySpace TWIt forum. They say things have changed, but reading their responses to him looked identical to when I was in. Same old burying your head in the sand, ignoring history and facts, all for "the word" and the nice feeling you get from being a TWIt -- until history repeats itself and you end up here. Boston MySpace - Way Internaional Question
  7. Do a Google search on "TWI Drinking Game". Guess what shows up?
  8. Do a google search for: Rosalie F. Rivenbark Or use this: http://www.google.com/search?lr=&ie=UTF-8&...0F.%20Rivenbark First hit should be wikipedia Too funny
  9. The 250 mile radius required you to be in the auditorium one Sunday a month. Used to live 150 miles from there. 2 1/2 hours there, 1 1/2 hours sitting on my but in the auditorium hearing what I would here in a few days on a tape, 1 hour eating burgers and waiting for the wife to stop talking to everyone and get in the car, 1 1/2 hours back home. Then we were 260 miles away. I think the limb guy was 253 miles away. He never went and never expected us. If he had, I would have pointed out the extra 10 miles. :) For the corpse who were dropped living in the 250 mile "buffer zone" (what a stupid concept), they were expected to move out of it -- as we were. Why? Because Craig, as he stated, did not like seeing these people in the auditorium on Sundays. Said it made him sick to see such cop-outs. So he forced them to move out, making it harder for them to show up there, and relieving his indigestion. Way of Abundance of Ego pretty much sums it up. I remember those 8 weeks of branch meetings also. For two months, your entire Sunday was wasted on these stupid meetings. Spend 2 hours setting it up, 2 hours for the meeting (depending on how long winded the bc was), an hour waiting for people to leave, and hour to tear it down. They also were all done in dumpy rooms that the bc could find for free. Usually required a longer prep time just to clean it up.
  10. Click on "My Controls" (top menu), then "Edit Profile Information" (on the side menu). "Custom Member Title" is the first field. Note: You need 500 posts for the field to show up so you can change it. This it? http://www.greasespotcafe.com/ipb/index.php?showtopic=8216

    TWI's Appeal

I assumed by the subject of the topic that it refered to a lawsuit being appealed. Funny how the other meaning of appeal being associated with TWI never crossed my mind.
  13. They don't advertise speaking in tounges on their web site. It's intentionly left out. Most people get turned off by it and TWI doesn't want them running until they've had a chance to get some of their claws into them.
  14. The following is from TWI's "What's New" - February section of their web site: http://www.theway.org/Monthly/02Feb/How%20...0the%20Lord.htm Is it just me, or didn't it used to be only "sharing of abundance?" Either way, rather blunt, eh? We teach you how to do the 4 other things, you give us your money. Otherwise, you cannot tap into God's power. Of course, sharing refers to a one-way street between everyone and those in charge of the group. I don't think sharing is honest either. I think tax would be a more appropriate word. It more accurately captures the extortion aspect of it.
  15. Anytime you see this, odds are it's not true. This one is overblown. They are valid area codes. There were some scammers based with phone numbers in this area code, but that doesn't make the entire area code devoted to scammers. More info is here: http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/a/area809.htm
  16. Someone a bit touchy today? Point out the personal attack and I'll remove it. I really don't see it. Could it be you're just taking things a bit too personally? I offer a logical rebutal to your post and the best you can come back with is urine contaminated slim fast? I do believe the topic is The Word of God is the Will of God. I posit that such a statement, or any sub-statements extending it, require proof. You claim no proof is required or that any metaphor is valid as long as it has something to do with God or the Bible. I disagree. Do you wish to discuss or no?
  17. Then why bother posting such statements if you don't have anything to back it up? There is a proof for deaf people to know that music exists and be able to experience it. What do you have against deaf people? If I were deaf, I would appreciate someone showing me how to experience music. But if we were to take the non-proof route that you suggest, then a deaf person would be told that music exist but must take the person at their word. No benifit for them and they never truly know for sure, they only have your word on it. What use it then? Stop picking of deaf people.
  18. Such a statement requires proof. Got any? Otherwise, it's only a theory, or more likely, a fantasy.
  19. Joseph Atwill had some pretty good insight into this idea in his book, Ceasar's Messiah. But you need an understanding of the events of 66CE to about 73CE (aproximately), with Titus' destruction of the temple and finding Simeon hiding under a rock.
  20. I've been wanting to jump into this thread but haven't read it all yet. Do I need to, or is there a good starting point?
  21. I think a good place to start is to ask why you are looking for a church?
  22. I think I tried saying this before the figure of speech lesson came (thanks, haven't had one since TWI), but I agree with Lindy. It's an invalid metaphore. A drivers license's sole purpose for existence is proof of identity and authorization. No such thing exist for the Bible. The author of the majority of the books isn't even known, let alone there being proof that he/she actually wrote it, wasn't making it up, lying, or was just plain mental.
  23. Can anyone drink that much? First prayer and I'd be passed out on the floor. Is it a last-man-standing game? Well, if you're going to listen to that crap, might as well make it enjoyable.
