a.k.a: spam? As you should be. DriverAgent.com is a subscription service. Last I knew, $29.95/month. You do not need to update drivers unless you are having a specific problem. Even then, going directly to the manufacturer's web site will get you the latest driver. Updating drivers (or your BIOS) only because a new version is available is dangerous and should not be done. You may find yourself with unusable hardware and looking for your Windows install cd.

When I hit a site that insists on using IE, I use Firefox's IE Tab extension. One click of an icon at the bottom right of firefox and it switches the rendering engine to IE for just that web site. Nice job figuring out the prompt for scripted windows Bluzeman. Getting your hands dirty digging into the guts of IE, contaminating your PC. You deserve a medal!

Yup. Doesn't work. Must be a new feature for IE7. Second time I used IE7 it crashed. I'll be sticking with Firefox. I'll see if there's a fix for IE7 fans though.

God Delusion is on my list to read. Should be pretty good. The Paradox of God was a decent read. Deals with the problems of omniscience and how it actually would hinder someone. For example, say you're playing chicken with an omniscient being. You're speeding towards him, and him towards you. If you crash, you both die. But whoever chickens out suffers severe penalties (whatever they are, make something up). What do you do? Easy, keep going and don't swerve. The omniscient being will be forced to swerve because he already knows you will not chicken out.

Remove the password from the dial-up internet connection. Then it will have to prompt before connecting, no matter which program is using it. Next time it goes to dial, you should see a password prompt for the dial-up connection. If you want to trace down which program is attempting to connect to the Internet at this time, run TCPView(freeware) and look down the list for anything attempting a connection to anything besides 127.0.0.1.
