The Way International Featured in Sound & Video Contractor Magazine
GT replied to Nottawayfer's topic in About The Way
An online version of the article, complete with picture of Roger Kuntz sitting at his control console: The Buzz: Installation Spotlight: The Way International, New Knoxville, Ohio -
Vista would be a step backwards for you Sudo. Their DRM software would probably have the cops knocking on your door.

Is it a song you can legally copy?
-
A free copy of The God Who Wasn't There for committing blasphemy? Sweet

A friend is someone who understands your past, believes in your future, and accepts you just the way you are. Truly great friends are hard to find, difficult to leave, and impossible to forget.

Been following the Slashdot comments on the Vista release. This one pretty much sums it up:

I've been recommending people stay away from it at least until after the first service pack. Let everyone else work out the problems with it first. I don't expect to ever be upgrading my office to it. Not worth the expense and headache, especially with all the DRM in it (which someone figured out how to by-pass only yesterday). If it gets to the point that we can't buy a PC without it preloaded on it, we'll probably switch over to Linux or Mac (which I've already done on my PCs). From what I've seen, the only "new" features in it, besides their version of "security", is a look-and-feel that attempts to mimic a Mac experience (which can also be done on Linux now). From what I've seen, they've managed to do it. But it's not worth paying for.

Defeating the Adversary. It was ok seeing it the first time when he recorded it live. Had a hard time staying awake watching it two months later during corpse week. Practically impossible to stay awake the third time when the branch ran it 6 weeks later. The next spring they ran it again and the full-of-himself branch coordinator wanted me in the class again, to show support for it. I said, "no thanks. Seen it 3 times this year already." "But it's the word of god!" "Go shove your word of god...." Craig's 1st advanced class. Boring 1st time at Rome City, except for seeing him brandish guns, claiming they were the best thing to keep debil spirts away. That was kind of funny. But then he got the idea up his butt about running it in every state over a 4 weekend period. So everyone, whether they'd seen it or not, was giving up 4 weekends to sit through the thing (I think they were consecutive weekends, can't remember right now). Some places booked hotels to run it in, which would have been nicer. But my local corpse decided to mimic the now defunct ROA settings so he booked a camp. Four weekends of living in a cabin with 10 other couples sleeping in the same room. No option to get a hotel room for myself and my wife. I couldn't sleep all weekend and couldn't wait to get the hell out of that camp. Then we got to do the same thing all over again the next year. I was spared the keys to biblical research. Craig had banished that to cop-out land before I showed up.

False religion? False religion is a belief that all religions besides the one you believe is wrong. At the same time, the religion you believe is being labeled by someone else as false. Since every religion has its share of adherents willing to be martyrs for it, the only way to get rid of these "false religions" is to kill its followers. Much like King Josiah did when he "found" the book of the law, established the first monotheism in Judia (second in recorded history, by my count, with Egypt trying it first), and proceeded to kill the followers of the other religions (baal, ashera, el, etc). Or like the Romans did after Christianity was declared the official religion of the state to those who practiced polytheism. Or like the Roman Catholic's did with the blessing of Constantine in killing off all other "Christians" who disagreed with their accepted doctrine. And on and on... Or you can get your god to come down and wipe everyone out for you, as Revelations predicts (I have no idea why one would look at Revelations and want the kind of life it spells out). Either way, you've got a lot of people (billions) that need killing in order to remove the "false" religion.

Thought I'd stop by and post something I came across. Edgar Cruz - Bohemian Rhapsody (classical guitar)

Of all the insults hurled at GreaseSpot, this has to be the worst! Even after we went through all that work to get rid of the red drapes...

From their podcast description (iTunes) Mr. Deity offers a humorous (and slightly irreverent) look at the day-to-day operations of the universe and the "Big Man" in charge. It's a behind-the-scense look at how Mr. Deity and his long-suffering assistant, Larry, grapple with the complications of the new Creation. "What kind of Evil will be allowed in this new universe?" "How do you go about finding a 'Saviour'?" and "Why won't these darned lights work?" are just some of the thought-provoking questions raised by this nutty series. Subscribe to the Mr. Deity podcast now and receive a free "Get out of Hell" card (offer void where prohibited, offer may not be combined with any other offer, offer not for real, batteries not included, details not available). www.mrdeity.com Mr. Deity Episode 1: Mr. Deity and the Evil Mr. Deity Episode 2: Mr. Deity and the Really Big Favor Mr. Deity Episode 3: Mr. Deity and The Light Mr. Deity Episode 4: Mr. Deity and the Messages

Where does KFC chicken come from? I don't know. Do you know what KFC stands for? Kentucky Fried Chicken. :biglaugh:

Can't really follow what you're saying pond. Are you saying God is not omnisciencent? Are you also now saying he is not all powerful? God doesn't have the ability to do harm, but can create something that can but for some reason is not responsible for his creation?
-
I'll take whatever you have pertaining to kids.

God cannot be all-knowing and not know something at the same time. That would be a contradiction If he is all-knowing, then he knows all the decisions we'll make. There is no free will. The future was already set and you're just living it out, being pre-programmed like the slot machine. If he is not all-knowing, then the bible is wrong in stating that he is. So if God does have omniscience, then is he responsible for the suffering he knew would happen as a result of his own actions (i.e. creating the earth and humans and the devil)? Or are parents better than God when they lock up the harmful chemicals so that the toddler will not find them and drink them? If you really want to see the problem with omniscience, try imagining you're God. You know all things. You know the entire future. You know everything you will eventually do. There is nothing you can do to change your own future. If you try to change the future, it is already known to you that you would do that and the future you know already accounts for that. It's like living in a movie you've seen a thousand times -- nothing you do can change the outcome of the movie that you've seen over and over again.
-
Then God is not omniscient. If he does not know what we will choose, then he is not all knowing.
-
It's an analogy. It's certainly not exact since the relative wisdom and inisght of an adult to a toddler is far exceeded by God to an adult. But it works well. Let's expand it to include the devil. Assume I have my house in order, well protected for a toddler. But not only do I have a toddler in the house, I also have an unruly teenager. I'm very upset at this teenage because he will not obey me, wants to do things his way. I order him to clean the kitchen floor. He goes to the sink cabinet, opens it up, then says, "screw you! I'm not doing it. I'm doing what I want to do, which is anything that will upset you!" He thens goes off and opens the medicine cabinet, the stairs to the basement, removes the child protectors on all the wall plugs. Twenty minutes later, my toddler comes along. I know what's going to happen, but don't do anything. Am I responsible? Omniscience is even more problematic when it comes to freewill. If the outcome of all my decisions is already known by someone else, do I have freewill? Or is it an illusion? If I make a slot machine and instead of making the results of its spinning random I pre-program the outcome of all spins. I know that it will hit the jackpot on spin 832,193. In fact, I know what every spin will be. This makes me omniscience in regards to the slot machine. I place the slot machine in a local casino. Someone playing the machine does not know the outcome of any spin until the spin actually occurs. It may appear to the person that every spin is random, that they can affect the random number generator in it by altering the times between their spins. But no matter what the person playing the game does, every spin of the wheels will produce exactly what was programed into the machine and the machine will pay out on spin 832,193. What appears to be random is an illusion. If the result of all our decisions is already known by someone else, then freewill has to be an illusion. There is nothing we can do to alter what is already known by the omniscience God. Good point. I think it was meant as an analogy, with God being the owner of the rabid dog, a.k.a the devil. So why didn't he see the signs?

So we have to learn not to drink the liquid stuff in the bottles under the sink that God left there unlocked?
-
There is that little problem of omniscience. If God knew that his actions before Genisis 1:1 were going to cause so much suffering, is he responsible for it? If I leave the doors under the sink unlocked, where all the cleaning fluids are kept, and my toddler gets in there and drinks it, am I responsible?
