  1. Listen you 'wet water immersifiers'..the malefactor on the 'cross' next to Jesus. Jesus counted him as 'saved'. Why, how.?? Was a bucket of water thrown over him to 'baptise' him.? Should this go to the 'silly forum'??!!
  2. Mark..with all due respect you might just as well say that you are flying on 'blind faith' regarding salvation or else you are 'befuddled' regarding the significance of it, speaking in tongues, the new birth, the purpose and power of the holy spirit. 'believeth UNTO salvation', 'believeth UNTO righteousness'. Saved by grace and not works of any kind my friend. 3. To me it's simple. Confess, Jesus, Lord, believe, raised, shalt be SAVED. speaking in tongues, Christ in you, OUTWARD MANIFESTATION of INWARD REALITY. I think Rafs' got the right idea..'If you're saved and you know it clap your hands' (or drop the tail chasing).
  4. At risk of going round in circles Mark..which 'baptism' are you talking about.? There is 'water' 'spirit' 'fire' 'sufferings' to mention some. I'll go for the 'spirit', works for me. One Lord, one faith, one body, one baptism etc.. Reading the gospels one gets a general sense of Jesus trying to get people to move in a new direction and the church epistles has Paul trying to do the same. In that respect I guess the book of Acts could be looked at as 'transitional.' One of the reasons 'baptism' is still a dilema for some maybe is that as soon as they read the word 'baptism' they immediatey associate it with water when in reality the word used in the greek denotes 'immersion'. Used mainly when talking about water or dyeing it becomes 'hard' for people to understand a 'spiritual immersion'.
  5. I would like to think that ex-catholics left a lot of religious platitudes behind them and have encountered the power of the Holy Spirit, holy spirit. I too was brought up catholic..I know all the 'hail mary full of grace, the lord is with thees' and none of it did a dam**d thing for me or those I hold dear. Each to their own,but I think that a 'returning' catholic would be as 'rare' as a 'returning' twigee. p.s. if that 'sounds' uncivil I apologize in advance.
  6. Enjoy your beers guys whilst I finish off with this... I have NEVER been water baptised. I have obeyed Romans 10:9,10. I speak in tongues fluently. I have helped a number of people into the 'new birth' also. I believe that 'rightly divided' Word practically will always line up doctrinally. God Bless ya!
  7. Peter when recanting the story went on to say.." Then (denotes time) REMEMBERED I how Jesus said John indeed baptised WITH WATER, BUT you shall be baptised with HOLY SPIRIT...etc..." My question before was..am I saved even though I have never been water baptised, it's a simple question isn't it ?
  8. Well said Lorna..if it's next week great, if it IS 2018, then time for me to 'push' a bit more.!!
  9. Garth !!!!!!!!!!!!! Just read the darn thing!!!!!!!!!! Raf too !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oakspear three !!!
  10. So Mark..using your statement of the OT 'baptism' being a 'foreshadow' of Johns' baptism..why is it not possible that Johns' baptism (of the gospel period) was a 'foreshadow' of the new birth, pentecostal baptism of spirit ?
  11. Exactly CWF..Peter also said in Hebrews 6: 2 about 'moving on' from doctrines of baptisms etc.. maybe we should to. I wonder if it is discussed by people who are not sure if they are actually born-again, saved or whatever. ??
  12. Actually he doesn't give a 'day' or 'hour', but what he does give is some very good info I had never heard before ! Go on Garth..give it a read.
  13. It is taken from Billy Ayles (ex twi) site. I hope he doesn't mind but it is www.thetimeline.org I have already read his stuff and in my op. it is quite revelational. One can download it from his site (36 pages). I would be interested in hearing Raf and some of the others op. on it once they have read through. Well worth the read.
  14. Thankyou what the hey..I'm glad I'm not a 'baptised pagan' !!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. So I have never been water baptised, yet I have obeyed Romans 10: 9,10. I speak in tongues ( fluently, distinctly, enunciatedly (!) my question is..what am I missing out on by not having been 'water' baptised. ??
  16. Yes Rascal, there are 'freaks' even in nature but it is definitely NOT the NORM ! 'Adolescent' bulls is the key word is it not ? Young and inexperienced and 'naieve'. Can a bull be 'naieve' (sp)?
  17. Hi Johnny..give her the Word.If you truly believe it works, delivers, heals, sets free..give her the Word, give her Jesus. Gods' Word truly fills the void, pushes out the garbage for those who accept it. God is a God who is drawn to emptiness. Selina and I have dealt quite a bit with single parents and troubled youth since leaving twi. What I said above works better than any pscyciatrist could ever dream of IF you help them through the eyes of Jesus the way I know you can, bless you bro.
  18. Jesus often used analogies in the world to reflect truths in Gods' Word. I utilise this learning tool too if debates come up on things like 'can a Father be His son at the same time' ? 'Is homosexuality naturally occuring in the animal kingdom' etc.. Often the simplicity of Gods' creation reflects the intent in Gods' Word.
  19. Sounds like the person saying this should have really, really , really tried believing that there is also a supreme being referred to as Satan, Devil, Destroyer, Waster etc...!!
  20. With the people I know who have gone onto staff this year..don't try holding your breath for the next say..10 years !! Regarding other churches teaching what was taught in TWI (the good stuff) NUH Dr. W DID bring it all 'together'. Most of the other churches have bits and pieces. If I lived in the States I'd probably be involved with CFFM. I think some people are still so bitter about their twi experience that a public beheading of Loy in front of the fountain of living waters still would'nt help.
  21. Hi Mark..in your reply to Jerry you asked if Jesus did not teach things very well for the disciples to 'miss' things. You can see by reading the N.T. that there were many things they 'missed' and 'forgot'. The two on the road to Emmaeus is one example. Also remember because of travel obstacles and 'media' limitations one can understand why Phillip for example was 'still behind the 8-ball' in his thinking. Also one reads of Apollos being shown a more 'perfect way' of baptism by Aquilla and Priscilla in Acts 18.
  22. Sorry Jerry..I just read it for what it says, noting words like ' you' 'confess' 'mouth' believe' 'heart' 'shalt' 'saved' .I find keeping it simple stops me from becoming a 'jack of all trades, master of none' type of Christian. Hey Evan..if you mean 'mucking up' your doctrinal section by disagreeing with your 'trinitarian', 'water spraying' interpretation of scriptures then.. geeesh, sorry mate !! It's still a discussion forum isn't it ??!!
  23. Hi Jerry..I wasn't 'implying' anything nor 'stating' anything except to say this is how I go about reading and living the Word. To me, someone who spends their life trying to figure out exactly what salvation is or how it happens (when for example we have romans 10:9,10) and does not 'appropriate it' is very foolish. To me Jerry, if Romans 10: 9,10 is NOT the answer, then there is NO answer. Again..this is how (I) read and live the Word, Bless ya !
  24. Hi Jerry..I read through the verses you posted and am wondering what you find incompatible with them ? I am someone who reads 'lightly and simply' only going 'in-depth' when absolutely necessary. I believe a number of scriptures can only be truly 'understood' through the 'light' of actually living the stuff (genosko). For example, understanding what it means to 'smell' the death side of people who choose to live 'carnally' and I'm talking about Christians as well etc.. 'Fit for the Kingdom of heaven'..could that be talking about the rewards ?? The Bible even mentions trying to understand 'things of the spirit' from a carnal point of view. How can one explain spiritual things translating it over into our 'five senses standpoint', Jesus tried it with the usage of parables.!
