I debated with a couple of Mormon missionaries once who were trying to convert a friend. Was told later, the young man rang his parents back in the u.s.a. ( something they're not meant to do whilst on their mission ) crying telling them he didn't believe anymore...should I feel bad about it ?

I don't think wierwille ever claimed to be a prophet ? But yeah, I think a lot of the stuff mentioned was because their mindset was to never open up with or confess any negatives, which of course became hysterically fanatical...and just not feasible, at least in an honest way.

Really, as someone a million miles away from England and U.S.A , yes it (seems )it is an American thing. Everything somehow needs to be dramatized ! Having lived in the States and a number of other countries for a time, it appears many get confused where the daytime soap operas end and reality begins. I'm all for telling your story but maybe let it be done as a genuine warning to others and bringing bad people to justice and not as a therapeutical/celebrity/money spinning exercize. Unwittingly that oftenly ends up quasi glorifying the crime !

Interesting tho WW...The new heaven and earth is said to have no more sun...so presumably there will be no more darkness either ? I also think at the gathering together a lot of things and questions probably will no longer matter ?!

Apparently during the loyalty purge all in-residence corps were given 3 choices...1/ leave 2/ stay with no questions asked of leadership 3/ stay, but you'd like to know more about what was happening. Needless to say 1 and 3 were gone!! Thought that was quite clever, even for LCM lol

Yes every now and then I remember VP teaching about the New Bremen ? newspaper premises and how VP had been there and noticed a lot of untidiness and rubbish laying around. His point was that nothing good comes out of an unclean and untidy workplace or residence ! I think it was his response to an unflattering article about TWI.I realized later of course that even meticulously kept places can still promote filth. We left the Family Corps because we were turned off by the adultery happening there between in-resident corps....yes, blind eye turned to it.

Oh yeah, I'm hearing ya ! when we told our campus co-ord we were leaving we got the whole "you guys were going to be the first to be given a scholarship sponsorship for your second year in-res." scenario...nah it's o.k. we're outa here..."well if you open your mouths about things you've seen, I'll personally throw you off the third floor landing"...yeah, cool, goodbye lol

Well said, sad but true...it died years ago and the even sadder thing is a relative of mine is only now sitting down to write a book to the trustees detailing what is wrong with 'the' ministry..like he's only just noticed ??!! Be a long read is all I can say lol

I wish this forum had a like button anyways...TWI is stuck in their time warp themselves...nothings changed...same music, same format, same location, same quips and one liners...most young people after seeing and hearing churches like Hillsong, C3, etc draw the only conclusion possible...BORING

I understand...majority of them were imbeciles...after we notified our campus co-ord. Pau6 Mosquito we were 'checking out' he pleaded with us to stay, they were going to organize a first ever scholarship for us yada yada...we said "nooooo, we're still leaving" that's when the threats began

wow, I never knew that Twinky ! I actually had a few laughs with him (LCM) and the mad oirishman country co-ord. from back home was too much of a coward to face melt me

Then at a recent family gathering ( I wasn't there ) sister-in-law ( the one who wrote the nasty letters )came up to wife and said "wouldn't it be nice if we could all be pleasant to one another"...no apologies, no gee I'm sorry for what we've said and done to you guys...I think they're pretty screwed in the head to be honest, the whole, if not double minded, then double faced or masked, has affected many of them...unstable

Anyways, getting back to TWI bullying....yeah, apparently the women in our local region area were directed to scream out 'rapist' if I approached any of them to talk about the goings on in the organization lol. Also had 2 of their goons ( one was bro-in-law ) turn up on doorstep to beat me up. Again, all on the premise I would 'spill the beans' to their people about goings on in the corps. We had bro-in-law calling home phone to persuade my wife and kids to leave me. Letters written stating our kids would turn out homo because we walked away etc...For an outfit teaching 'no fear' they sure harbor lots of it

Don't forget you weren't allowed to get 'preggies' whilst in residence corps training either...saw that one broken a couple of times lol
