  1. I've been wondering since yesterday. Thanks, Groucho. Please keep us posted.
  2. Back when we had curbside recycling pickup (we don't anymore--budget cuts), the same truck picked up the recycling trash at the same time as the rest of the trash, on the same truck. They just put the stuff in separate sides of the garbage truck. I don't know the answer, but I'm sure it's not creating massive landfills all over the country, full of Pepsi bottles and newspapers and cans. Maybe we should go back to not being such a disposables-addicted society; for example, we could return to returnable glass soda pop bottles. Look at all the fun kids could have gathering up empties and cashing them in at the local store, like we did. :)

  5. City Slickers Billy Crystal When Harry Met Sally
  6. I don't know his whereabouts anymore, but I'm pretty sure he's out. He and Gloria are divorced and both remarried.
  7. Gag me--a name that shall not be spoken by me. Camel, dromedary, hump Is that Russell Crowe and his band? Nah, but I can't place them. Rain? Umbrella? Drop? You've got me stumped.
  8. The only nostalgia I feel about the ROA is for the early years. Oh, and for that rush of hearing Ambassador One buzz the big top. I loved that. My first ROA was 1972, and I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. It was like a love-in (you youngsters, ask your parents) with actual love. Everyone helped each other, gave each other stuff. We danced, we laughed, we cried, we waved holy hands. And there wasn't a three-piece suit or a dress to be seen anywhere!! Mud? No problem. Something to play in! Topsy, that's a very funny simulation of camping at the Rock. In later years I used to think, "Okay, either have me camp or have me dress up...not both!!
  9. Oh, I didn't mean to imply that you would. Just that protective streak in me coming out, just in case you'd ever consider such a thing.
  10. Gosh, it seems like only yesterday that Andrew was just a little sprout. He's sure shot up and is a handsome young man. You have plenty of reasons to be a proud dad, Ron. And he's a very lucky guy to have a dad like you. Hey Ron, I grin every time I hear about Yellville, for two reasons. First, I just think it's a hilarious name, like something from a Dr. Seuss book. I picture all the people in town walking around yelling all the time. I also grin because my GGG-grandfather started a newspaper in Yellville back in the 1870s or 1880s.
  11. STL, I'd maybe agree with what you said if two of his three sentences to her weren't "You look good" and "You look nice," with the third being "You need a ride?" (FAL, you sure he didn't preface that with "Piece of candy"??) I'm sure FreeAtLast did look nice, but that encounter strikes me as a little odd. I'm not overly cautious...heck, I went to Las Vegas in 1990 with a bunch of people I "met" on the Internet before I ever saw them face to face. We had a blast, and there was nothing weird about it. It's not overcautiousness at all. I just get a creepy sense about the way this guy acted. The other thing, STL, is you are a man. You don't have the same vulnerabilities as a woman. We need to be a little more careful.
  12. I know I'm going to sound like a mother (maybe because I am one!), but you know, the serial killer Ted Bundy was handsome. Being good looking and having a nice truck aren't really guarantees that a guy you pick up at a gas station is an okay guy, much less that he's interested in something "lasting and meaningful." You might have dodged a bullet rather than missing an opportunity. Sorry, but as a mom I can't stop myself from saying this. Be careful out there!

    Two Years

How well I remember you when you were still struggling with your ex's involvement and how you were going to extricate yourself. I still remember how happy I was when I figured out that "Belle" was the new, free, version of you! Congrats, kiddo. You've come a long way, and there's lots of good stuff ahead. And what a cutey pie you are. Reminds me of: "...one year, at band camp...." (Don't hit me! I think the "band camp" girl from American Pie [who's now in a TV sitcom] is cute as a bug!)
  14. Poor, neglected Triple Movie Links game. :( Nicholas Cage Guarding Tess Shirley MacLaine
  15. Call me dense, but I'm still trying to figure out how you got "Memories of a Geisha" from those pictures. I had nothin' but: Grey Kiss Gay Gay Scratching my head here.
  16. I'm glad you all had such a great time! Thanks for the photos and the fun stories. So CW. Did you call him yet???? :wink2: Until I saw Bow's last post, I thought maybe he followed you home and was wondering how you were gonna 'splain him to the hubby!
  17. Yes, Rhino, I remember Grandfather Clock. :P Lemmmeeee see. Thinking.
  18. HEY!!!! Watch it, Rhino. If Tom is old, I'm ancient. Oh crud. I am. Carry on.
  19. Exsie, I just want to say I love you, my friend. Your kindness and grace are a comfort. Thank you. I don't want to argue about this anymore. I have enough headaches in my life already. I don't come here to get a headache or to be one to someone else...really I don't. Those who "get" my heart, thank you. Those who don't maybe never will.
  20. Yikes! I was hoping you'd post and easy one so I could try out my newly acquired picture-posting skills. Guess not. Hmmmm. Duh Day Duh (hahahahahahahaha) Earth Stood Still The Day the Earth Stood Still. Yeehaw I await confirmation from Mr. Sno-Cone, but it wasn't as hard as I thought.
  21. I heard from someone recently who's been in touch with Bernita, so I don't think she passed away. Very sweet, smart woman. I could be wrong, but I don't think she's affiliated with twi anymore, so if that's the case, I'm surprised her writings wouldn't be considered "old wineskins."
  22. I know what the expression means, thank you. Never mind.
  23. We're getting nowhere. I am sorry I had an opinion that differed slightly from yours.
  24. CW,are you implying that anyone asking about the facts is whitewashing what happened? I'm certainly not.
