  1. This is just a possibility, but it could be a urinary tract infection. My EmmaDog used to have a lot of piddling accidents and I was so pi$$ed off (pun intended) at her...until one day I was waiting for her to piddle out in the snow and discovered that her piddle was red. I took her to the vet and she had a raging UTI. Ever since then, the only times she's ever had accidents were when she had another infection. It certainly could be a behavioral problem, but I'm not a doggie shrink, so I can't help much with that. I hope you can figure it out and make it stop!

    snow

The lights are on, and trust me, I'm home. I couldn't get out to go anywhere if I wanted to. Thanks for asking, LAE. :)

    snow

All that's misisng on a snow day like today is a couple of friends to come over and have Monopoly or Boggle or Canasta marathons with. Alas, no one lives close enough. I really have to work on my dogs' card-playing skills. Oh, and welcome, Papa-gee. And Chatty, my apologies for butting into the first post of the page. Just like those rude drivers!!

    Romantic Oldies

Here's one for you. It was my mom and dad's song when he was overseas in WWII: Artist: Billie Holiday Song: I'll Be Seeing You I'll be seeing you In all the old familiar places That this heart of mine embraces All day through. In that small cafe; The park across the way; The children's carousel; The chestnut trees; The wishin' well. I'll be seeing you In every lovely summer's day; In every thing that's light and gay. I'll always think of you that way. I'll find you In the morning sun And when the night is new. I'll be looking at the moon, But I'll be seeing you. I'll be seeing you In every lovely summer's day; In every thing that's light and gay. I'll always think of you that way. I'll find you In the morning sun And when the night is new. I'll be looking at the moon, But I'll be seeing you.
  5. Socks, you really did make me laugh out loud. Exsie, I'm with you on those "romantic" stories.

    snow

coolchef: 12 FEET?? I'm impressed!!!! hahahahahahahahaha Okay. Snow. Lots of snow. Lots and lots and lots of snow. And wind. And did I mention it's cold??? The roads weren't that horrible when I left work at 4 pm yesterday. What was horrible was the way many drivers opted to move into the middle of intersections that they'd have no chance get through before their light turned red. This little trick gridlocked the whole doggone city. And then there were the yahoos who came sneaking around in the parking lane and bullying their way into lines of traffic that hadn't moved an inch for 30 minutes. Getting bored at one such 30-minute "parking opportunity," I called the local oldies station and said, "Could you please play some soothing music before I'm forced to get out of my car and smack one of these rude people?" My friend, stuck in another part of the city and listening to the same station, called me and said, "Was that you??" We had a good laugh, sitting in our respective snowy parking lots, going nowhere. :D This morning when I let the dogs out, I could barely open my back door, which is under an awning that usually keeps me from getting more than a few inches at the doorway. My poor little EmmaDog didn't know what to do because the snow is higher than she is....kinda hard to squat, if you know what I mean. And she's back in that lampshade contraption, which serves as a snow plow, Poor thing. The good news is that it's a snow day! I had the option of taking a vacation day or working at home. I brought work home, in case I can't get out of my driveway tomorrow, but today it's nothing but hot chocolate, old movies, and looking out the window at the pretty white stuff. Stay safe, everyone!
  7. I'm not in the least bit threatened, nor am I angry. You're free to believe what you like, as am I.
  8. Thanks WD & Sudo. That was always one of my favorite Good Seed songs. hahahahaha WD, "Just an Accident" by Bad Seed. Thanks for not converting it, Sudo. :D
  9. Chas, that's exactly what I thought. Big bang, my butt. :) If White Dove peeks into this thread, maybe he has a copy of "Accidentally" by Good Seed that he can post here!
  10. Soggy, just to keep the record straight, John's dad did not found Eli Lilly Co. It was founded in 1876 by Col. Eli Lilly. His dad did work there, and my impression was that he was pretty high on the food chain there.
  11. Bumping this up, cuz a few haven't checked in!
  12. Despite her trashy clothes, her crazy lifestyle, her horrendous grammar, and my strong suspicion that she only married the old guy for his money, I always felt sorry for Anna Nicole. There was something underneath her outrageousness that seemed so loving and vulnerable. I'm sad, too. I suspect that her little baby girl is going to be like a big bag of gold for somebody--whoever passes the DNA Daddy test will get the big prize. Don't know who will raise her, but I guess we could hope it will be in a more stable environment than she probably would have had with her mom.

    Switzerland

Those are amazing pictures. I'm glad I'm viewing those scenes from afar, although our -20 wind chill lately doesn't seem that much better!
  14. Well, you are a man, aren't you? :D {{{Sudo}}}
  15. Isn't that sorta like giving kids a suspension from school? Oh. No. No meeting on Sunday morning? What ever will we do?
  16. Belle asked, "What happens if he starts to land too soon?" I think they call that premature etaxication.

    Da' BEARS

I feel bad for the fans who must have paid big bucks to sit in the rain all night.

    Super Bowl Ads

I already posted this in the wrong thread. My fave so far is the one with the bunny and the guinea pig and the poor lil mouse. "Try draggin' it." eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!

    Da' BEARS

Heh heh, exsie, I'm sponsoring my son's screwed-up engine, but thanks for giving me an opportunity to give. My fave commercial so far was the one with the bunny and the guinea pig and the poor lil mouse. "Try draggin' it!" eeeeeeeeeeeeeeek

    Da' BEARS

I've long been a fan of da Bears. They're my back-up when the Browns don't make the playoffs...which is too often. But what I'm really rootin' for is the score. I have the last digit of 4 for the Bears and the last digit of 6 for the Colts, so I've won so far for the 1st quarter and the 2nd quarter. If the Bears get 10 more points and the Colts get zip, I could win the whole shebang, and the Bears would win. The best of all worlds for me! PS. Is Prince really that small? And why in the world did he play that Tina Turner song to open?? That's a bar song.
  21. Sudo, I don't think your brother's experience or mine proved that "all TWI-ers were pot heads." It just shows that some innies in some places smoked pot.
  22. Pond raises some good points. Except for the small percentage of people who figure out how to "work" the system (and yes, I believe it's a small percentage), living on welfare is subsisting, at best. It's demeaning and it's a struggle. Sadly, it becomes a generational thing, so embedded in some people's cultures that they lack the inspiration or gumption or whatever they need to break the cycle.
  23. I think it depended on where you lived. You know how those Californians were in the 70s. I stopped smoking pot when I got into twi. I was shocked years later, when my roommate (a California girl) told me she took PFAL so that she could "finally sit in the back rows and smoke pot like the other grads." In my neck of the Way-world woods, smoking pot or doing any drugs was a no-no.
  24. I've encountered the late Dr. Scott and his widow in recent months because I have a bad habit of falling asleep with the TV on, then waking up in the middle of the night with some bizarre program on. After this happened a couple times, I was curious enough to check out their Web site. Looking around the Web site, I also got the feeling he and VPW were similar in some ways, one of them being self-promotion of their organizations, and making them sound bigger and more significant than maybe someone else would consider them. He must have been about 30 or 40 years older than his bride, wouldn't you say? Anyone know how long they were married? She looks so solemn all the time (well, I've only seen her 2 or 3 times, but she looked solemn).
  25. Too cool. Whenever I see something that clever, I wish I were that clever (and talented)!
