I use the one on the back of the Knorr's Vegetable soup box, but I substitute: the sour cream is tofutti, and the mayonaise is nayonaise. Here's the original: 1 10 oz. pkg. of frozen spinach, thawed and drained 1 16 oz container of sour cream 1 cup mayonaise 1 pkg Knorr's vegetable soup mix 1 8 oz. can of water chestnuts, drained and chopped 3 green onions, chopped Stir everything together until mixed. Cover, and refridgerate for at least 2 hours. Stir before serving.

Lisa, thank you so much for letting us know. I'm sorry he's gone, but I'm glad he didn't suffer much. I thought he was a really smart man. All my love and thoughts of peace for you.

I hate talking on the phone. E-mail me, or talk to me face to face, but don't call me. I do really great impressions-of animals. I don't drink liquids when I eat. Wonder where I got that quirk?

Thanks GT! That was great! Drty Dzn took our son to my daughter's small college town on the other side of the state to pick her up for Christmas break. When they got to the town, my son was driving. Drty told my son to obey the speed limits because you never know how strict the police would be. So, my son dutifully went 25 mph, and had bicyclists pass him up.

I woundn't necessarily ban the breed, but I think the breeding of Pit Bulls should be banned. Pit Bulls are the most abused breed of dog. Why would we want more to be born to be abused, hurt, and exploited. Shelters are already destroying thousands of dogs, why breed more pit bulls?

Thank you so much for starting this thread, Dot. There is a woman I work with who lies about everything. I can understand lying to stay out of trouble, or get ahead, like Dot said, but this woman lies whenever she opens her mouth. She has told everyone that three people were killed in her house before she bought it, that she furnishes it in antiques, that her and her husband have had sexual intercourse every day of their married lives (they've been married at least 25 years,), that her uncles were part of the Mexican Mafia, her brother owns a big hotel in Vegas, she has 11 brothers and sisters, and they're all extremely wealthy, and on and on and on..... She's really a sweet and generous person, and a great person to work with, because she knows her job and does it well. But these lies! I don't believe anything she says anymore. And yeah, she knows she lies, cause she covers very well when she slips. I'm going to read those links that Dmiller and Wordwolf gave. Hopefully I be able to understand her better. She is such a wonderful person in every other area.

Whoa! What's this all about? Did Linda have her eye removed, and replaced with a glass eye when she was two? Now there's a new eye growing where there wasn't one before, and all without surgery or medical attention, just prayer? Am I understanding this right? I'm going to have to be a doubting Thomas on this one. Is there any way you can link to the story, or is there a news release, or anything about this?

Honest discussion of the once saved all ways Saved?
VeganXTC replied to year2027's topic in Doctrinal: Exploring the Bible
Can I add universal salvation into the mix? As in Adam all die even so in Christ shall all be made alive. 1 Cor. 15: 22 All mankind is made alive in Christ, and become new creatures. (2 Cor. 5: 17) Everyone will confess Jesus is Lord. Unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear, surely shall say, in the Lord have I righteousness and strength. Isa. 45: 24. The first requirement of Rom.10:9 All will believe that Christ was raised from the dead. And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. John 12: 32. The second and last requirement of Rom. 10:9 -
Thanks Roy, the video was so pretty, and the songs were done so peacefully. It was just what I needed to hear this morning.

I'm sure it was beautiful, and a worthy memorial to your brother. Love and peace to you, and your family.

Women shouldn't smoke. Smoking lowers the amount of estrogen in our bodies, and estrogen slows bone loss. If you drink, drink only one alcoholic drink a day. Alcohol makes it harder for our bodies to use calcium.
-
I'm really glad that there are people who were spanked and who turned out fine. There are people who smoked since they were teenagers, Milton Berle and George Burns for example, who lived to be in their 90's, and even 100. But I don't think anyone would say that smoking is good for longevity, and should be encourgaed by our teenagers. Some children who are spanked are more resilient than others. Some children who are spanked have better circumstances than others. Is it possible that you turned out well in spite of and not because of spankings? No matter how you hit, the intent of a spanking is pain. I don't feel violence has any place in the raising up of a child. I'd opt for respectful guidence if I could start over.

From here: http://www.moriartydee.com/custody/verbal.html The National Committee for the Prevention of Child Abuse just added verbal abuse as an official category of child abuse within the past two years. Only 20 states include it as a category of abuse. California estimates that emotional abuse accounts for only 4 percent of the state's reported abuse cases.

When my children were young, I used to hit them with wooden spoons. However, if I had to do it all over again, I would never hit my children. Sure, they may stop the behavior, but at what cost? Corporal punishment causes agression in children, weakens the bond between parent and child, and can cause severe injury even with moderate spanking. Spanking does not teach acceptable conflict resolution, but instead teaches might makes right. I feel a lot of childish behavior that is deemed inappropriate actually comes from a child that is hungry, tired, sick, or curious. In these situations, the parent would be the one who needed discipline, not the child, but usually the child will end up with a swat on the fanny. I don't feel spanking should be illegal, because I do feel that the vast majority of parents who spank are loving and are well intentioned. I do think people need to be taught positive ways to raise children, and alternative, non-violent methods of punishment.

I feel that human injustice causes universal suffering. And while suffering can cause a person to grow or evolve, I've seen suffering cause a person become weak and hateful. I don't feel there is any meaning in suffering, just simple cause and effect.

how far did you let you're thinking (thoughts) go
VeganXTC replied to nandon's topic in About The Way
There something going on in the 70's where it was being taught by Tom Jenkinson that we shouldn't pay income taxes. He taught that the amendment to the constitution about income tax was unconstitutional. I remember a family get together (both wayfers and nonwayfers) and someone brought up how they weren't filing that year. The nonwayfers were appalled. I did a lot of stupid stuff in the name of TWI, but I always paid my taxes. -
There was a guy on last night who I really liked, Sundance Head. His father was a singer too, and on the charts with one song, but I never heard of him or the song.
-
I didn't feel like I was giving up my life, TWI was my life. It was only natural that I would go into the Way Corps. I had no desire to go to college, work at a high paying job, or whatever else my friends did when they graduated from high school. My only desire was to go WOW, and then Way Corps. Eee! I was pretty way brained! But I did everything because I thought this was how I was supposed to serve God.

Anytime Green Bay plays, its a great game!

I think suffering results from human action, or even inaction. There is a great lack of concern towards those outside our little sphere. When I think about people who suffer, I see people with horrible diseases, people who must live and die in extreme poverty, children who go without basic needs. I feel this is happening because humanity is concerned with what happenes to them and theirs, without a thought to the bigger picture. We are too greedy and/or paranoid to live a life that any God would design. So, while I believe in a Christian God, and I look to him for guidance, when it comes to suffering, I don't think we should look to religion. I take a more Diest approach and believe humanity causes suffering, and through logic and reason, can alleviate suffering.

I sure do remember, Sudo. It still makes me laugh! Here in Wisconsin, the hunters are hunting each other. White hunters vs. Hmong hunters. Its pretty crazy.

I am so sorry LAE. Both for the loss of your brother, and that I cannot offer anything to make his memorial more special. I have the feeling it will be special anyway. Coolchef, I love the poem you offered.

What great news! What a wonderful person the wife is to take the duck to the vet. Hopefully, the duck will be able to stay at the sanctuary, and live the rest of her life in peace. As for the hunter, I'd love to hear what he thinks about this.

I have more, like a hummus recipe, and a paprikash, and a creole. And one for eggplant stuffed with tofu, lol! Let me know if you want them, and I'll post them.
