  1. Here's some information on the author. So much for "hadn't been known since the first century". HERE
  2. Everything goes better with a hot cup of Joe HERE
  3. This is not a thesis, it's a personal opinion. There is a vast and very important difference,.
  4. This is absolute nonsense. Even VPW knew the writings weren't up for grabs. Maybe that's why he, himself, registered copyrights on them before he could get caught. edit: This idea presupposes that the writings in PFAL are a product of revelation. I have yet to see evidence to suggest they were.
  5. Time and time again, I, and many other posters, have openly stated there were good times and good people mixed in with the bad. The take-away point here is that the good does not outweigh the bad. Same goes for the PFAL materials. There may be some good mixed in with the bad. But, there is just too much bad to make it a worthwhile pursuit.
  6. It really doesn't matter what you "think", much as it doesn't matter what you "think" about murder or bank robbery. Plagiarism is unethical and against the law. Period. No, his citations were not "unconventional", they were nonexistent. Dropping a few names to make your self appear to be in good company is in no way a substitute for proper citation. In your last paragraph you are conflating various phases of the ministry to make it appear the unethical behavior is excusable. It's not.
  7. I think his act was along the lines of Will Rogers or Mark Twain...act like a bumpkin while spewing "wisdom".
  8. It's a good thing this site doesn't have "smell-o-vision". The stench of bull crap would be overwhelming.
  9. This is not citation by any stretch of the imagination. This is simply Wierwille dropping names. It's a common sales technique, designed to instill a sense of credibility and confidence. Plus, it's an appeal to authority. Have you ever examined the history of any of these men who were named? I'm not sure I'd ever let you wash my windows, Mike. You don't seem to know up from down or in from out. Wierwille placing Nicaea in France is not a typo, a proofreaders error or a mistranslation. It a factual error. More importantly, it's a factual error in material you claim was given by divine revelation, material that, at the very minimum, should be devoid of factual error. You should be ashamed of yourself for trying to pretend it's anything else.
  10. Are you telling me you don't know Nicaea was in what is now modern day Turkey?
  11. I'm not sure why you quoted me, as your response has nothing to do with answering my question.
  12. Simple question ( not Bible related): Where was Nicaea?
  13. It is a big deal. You said it was God Breathed. This is not a printing error, as you claim. It's evidence the writing is not divinely inspired.
  14. Was it or was it not an actual error in PFAL? A simple yes or no would be sufficient.
  15. The PFAL book is what brought me here. I used to lend it out all the time but it never seemed to come back. Thus, I would seek out replacements.I came here to see how I could get a replacement. Belle kindly offered to gift me her copy but by that time I had rad a bit of this site's contents and decided to decline the offer.
  16. Perhaps I've been under a mistaken impression. I've always thought that "the orange book" refers to PFAL. Anyway, it has me wondering. If someone does write the book on Wierwille's legacy, what color will it be? Will Christ be carrying it in his left hand when he returns?
  17. The ecumenical council held in France is known as The Council of Lyon.
  18. Time is of the utmost importance so I'll be brief. Where was the Council of Nicaea held?
  19. Mike, if you will take a bit of your busy time to simply look at some of the actual errors in PFAL, you will find that we're not talking about confirmation bias. These are factual errors that are not subject to opinion or bias. LINK
  20. Did someone say coffee? Here ya go. BTW (for those interested) The donate button is simply a way to help defray the annual cost of maintaining this site. Previously, it was handled by one very kind and caring individual. It gets to be a bit too much to expect of one individual, though.
