Roy---------My computer is quite old and I have trouble getting past the basic functions. Ditto regarding my computer skills. TWI used to teach that to be "saved" was to be made whole. I honestly never checked to see if that line of thinking is biblically accurate. From the little that I could see it looked like one used car salesman selling a car to another used car salesman. Joseph----------Glad to hear you are recovering from your injuries. Something I have found helpful in evaluating experiences like the ones you have described is to see if they concur with what we already know from the scriptures. In other words, if I feel GOD has told me to rob a bank to help finance a particular cause, I can find scripture that pretty clearly addresses how GOD views bank robbery. Suppose again that GOD really does want me to support this particular cause. He, being GOD, could surely find a way for me to do so without contradicting what is written in the scriptures. Another aspect to consider is: " What benefit will come from me knowing this? " To summerize then, there should be some positive benefit available from the information and the actions required should be within the framework of what the scriptures have shown to be acceptable. The Greasespot is not a religous group but I hope you can see that there is plenty of room for you to "fit in". I can only speak for myself but that's my "2 cents".

Linda Z----------Put-In-Bay has always been one of my spots along with the lighthouse at Marblehead. I no longer remember the route number of the road where we had our weekly branch meetings but I'm pretty sure it was called Center Ridge Rd. Mason's Hall on Sunday nights.We sure had some sweet fellowship meetings in those days. Brookpark Road is one of the most tedious, boring roads you could possibly drive but I still remember the anticipation we felt as we made our way to those meetings. "What a Fellow's Hip!"

greg 123--------Welcome to the amusement park formally known as Grease Spot Cafe. It seems you have gotten in line for the world famous roller coaster ride Known as "Errors In PFAL". It's a bumpy one for sure, and seatbelts are mandatory. There are, if you prefer, many other rides in this park and I hope you stick around and sample a few. Some of them are a bit nostalgic while others seem to be just plain silly.

Groucho----------Ditto on "Timothy". I still have a copy that I spin from time to time. I really like the total sound of it and never bothered to evaluate it's "accuracy". There was also a non TWI group that attracted lots of attention at that time called GLASS HARP. We would go to their concerts and try to win the lead guitarist,Phil Keagy, over to the TWI way of thinking. It was definately a trophy type of thinking on our part. Some of their/his work is still out there and available. He is/was a very talented musician who seemed to borrow from a classical background. He found the JCING thinking a great stumbling block. Another memorable effort from that era is O THEOPHILUS by a group called Hope.( TWI but not HQ sanctioned) Lynn and Sue are mentioned in the special thanks credits.

Correction----------Shakin' Mama should have been "Cookin' Mama" with Glenda Sue Maxwell. ----------Norm .-----No, you are not the only one. My dad used to buy two of every album so he could listen to side a and side b without flipping the record. This concept probably seems pretty amusing in this day of I-Pods and MP-3's. Lots and lots of heartfelt sentiment in that early stuff.

The thing I remember so vividly about music of the late sixties and early seventies is what a vast diversity of styles and genres managed to coexist. Consider Woodstock. Country Joe shared the same stage with the likes of Jimi Hendrix and Richie Havens. Widely differing yet tied together with a common thread. The same was true of "Way" music. Good Seed, Pressed Down, Shakin' Mama, Hope, Lakeview Telecasters, Tom Lepinski , and on and on. The common thread? Excitement about GOD and his word. Varied styles yet they coexisted much like music did in the secular realm. What happened to Way musicians is not too unlike what happened to musicians in general;The bottom line became more important than the music itself. I still have a great respect for the early "pioneers" of TWI music . They did the best they knew how while still trying to satisfy the "suits" and "bean-counters". My recommendation for someone who has never heard these recordings is to somehow find them and give a listen. SELAH.

Galen-------------The scriptures clearly do not address what we today refer to as abortion.Many questions still remain, Among them are: Are there scriptures that deal with a biblical equivalent of abortion?, Is soul life synonymous with breath life? Is receiving oxygen from the placenta the same as receiving it through respiration?,Is the circulatory path a factor since it changes once the first breath is taken? I don't know the answers to any of these questions but perhaps a scrutiny of these issues both from a scriptural stance as well as a biological stance will prove to be enlightening, though I doubt we will ever reach a conclusive answer that will satisfy everyone.Not withstanding, I respect your conviction to your viewpoint.

Consider for a moment what it might be like to be blind. No body language, no telltale facial expressions, no way of knowing whether the other person is fashion conscious or sporting the latest hairstyle, and yet communication takes place. How? by the greatest tool of communication ever; words. The internet is filled to overflowing with words and it is up to each individual how much and what type of meaning to give those words. We can play "name that tune", share something that is "just plain silly", or even ponder the discussions in the "doctrinal" and decide if we would like to try these ideas in " real life". It is true, at least in my opinion, that no machine can replace person to person interaction, but let's not allow ourselves to deny the existance or value of relationships that can and most certainly do exist on the internet. With that said, we must also develope a keen sense of awareness that will safeguard us from those absent visual clues. ----------------------------------HERE'S TO GOOD FRIENDS!------------------------------------------

When I read the LEAD thread it occurred to me how "over -the- top' upper leadership became with outward appearances. In order to participate in WC, it was required that one participate in LEAD. In order to participate in LEAD one would certainly be at a disadvantage, perhaps even to the point of exclusion, if any physical disability were present. Upper management seeming only wanted participants who would personify perfection. Can you imagine telling a Viet Nam Vet who has sacrifised a limb for their country that they are not worthy to minister to GOD's people because they don't have the physical ability to participate in a program such as LEAD which,although it could be a valuable experience, had no foundation in either scripture or divine revelation that was ever proven. Three piece suits in the mud, obsession with polishing and straightening, and a need for people to appear to be perfect specimens: all for the sake of outward appearance in an organization that supposedly knew so much about what was important in GOD's eyes. GOD looks on the heart.-----Always has and always will. ------

Pond-------It might seem at first glance that you and I are at odds in this line of thinking. This is not necessarily the case. One of the purposes that breathing serves is to receive oxygen and to release carbon dioxide. If a person is being mechanically assisted in this process via a respirator, the process is still taking place. This might be likened to a person using crutches to walk. Crutches or not, they are still walking. A fetus,however, partakes of this oxygen/carbon dioxide exchange by way of the placenta. The two blood systems never actually co-mingle. Some(including VPW) have even argued that this explains why GOD is refered to in the masculine gender but that is another topic altogether. A change in fluid pressure between the left and right side of the heart is what sets the external breathing process into motion. Now before you think we are at odds again, please consider this: Lev. 17:11 says the life of the flesh is in the blood. The fetus does indeed have blood. The question is this: Is this blood the same as that being referenced in Leviticus?

I offer the following not as an answer but a point of consideration.------Lev. 17:1 states that the life of the flesh is in the blood.-----When a fetus is in the womb, the blood of the mother and fetus are seperated by the placenta which acts as a go-between to facilitate transfers of oxygen, nutrients, and waste. There is an internal passageway in the heart that allows for blood to circulate in the fetus while at the same time bypassing the still nonfunctional lungs. When birth takes place, this passageway is sealed due to pressure differences that take place at that time At this point an adult type of flow through the heart is established and the lungs switch from bypass to service mode. Perhaps this is yet another piece of the first breath thinking . --------

Add to that list, Dealing With The Adversary(DWA). I think they were green. When I was studying for a license in a building trade, we had to be able to cite code word for word. Once you had your license,though, noone really cared if it was "Section 145; yada yada yada" . The proof of your comprehension was in the finished product. There are lots and lots of tradesmen who can turn out top notch work without quoting the code book but I'll bet they can find it in the book if the need arrises.
