  1. Ditto on the spa concept. It was my understanding that people of financial substance paid big bucks for these treatments. I think it might be somewhat similar to the mudbath, exfoliation, steamroom type treatments that we are familiar with. The pain inflicted there may have been TWI specific.
  2. Here's a little thought that popped into my head. If it's rude to correct someone's Grammer, It it also rude to correct their Grammper? Just wondering.----------
  3. Here's my 2 cents: It is far more important to try to understand the essense of what is being said than to correct spelling, etc. That doesn't mean it should never be done. Sometimes it is needed to extract the true meaning. If it doesn't serve a purpose, though, it's probably best to see past it. I work with the public and hear a lot of accents and mispronounced words. It's my belief that this subject( accents, etc.) is a paramutation of the subject at hand. If it doesn't serve a purpose, I try to focus on WHAT is being said. I find it helps me to think of the person as a child who has something very important to say but lacks the verbal skills to fully articulate. How would you correct your children? Can you ask leading questions to help clarify the point at hand? Now--- If'n yer jest talkin' 'bout the person bein' lazy--------- that thars somethin' else. <_<

  6. Body recovered from Stark County lake at 3:30 PM.(Ohio News Network) ID is not conclusive. Boyfriend is in custody. Court date set for Monday. He will be charged with 2 counts of murder.
  7. All in all, we're just another brick in the wall-------------
  8. I may be mistaken, but I think this one has been done before. Re: The Thresher I Googled it and found it to be a very interesting read. Memories of the tune have probably been overshadowed by the British Invasion.
  9. As long as people need love, understanding and a sympathetic shoulder to cry on, there will need to be an ex-Way site.
  10. Roy May I assume that when you ask "are you ready?" you are referring to the mental aspect and not so much the legal, paperwork considerations? Asking these questions and interacting around them is a valuable part of the readiness process. IMO.
  11. I love music.-----All kinds-----------Always have. But, I have a special fondness for blues and harmonica oriented music. My avitar is a figurine(not one of those fancy schmantzy German ones) that someone who knows me very well gave me a few years ago. It's a kid sitting on a fence rail playing harmonica. On his left side is a hound dog with big floppy ears and wide open eyes looking up at him as he plays. My wife, also a "grad" but not a poster, took a picture of it and posted it for me. When I first saw it, I was surprised that it has an almost Norman Rockwell kind of feel to it. That's when my " grandchildren" started looking in over my shoulder and offering their own two cents. In case you haven't met them, they are Cletus(that's his name), Cleophus(he's the ornery one) and Clara Belle( that's short for Helen.) I suppose that, in a sense, my avitar is really a part of me that most people never see. Ha Ha-- My grandson Cletus( that's his name) just said, "Geepers, Grandpa Waysider, are you really gonna post that sappy junk?" Now, where do you suppose a modern day kid got a word like "sappy"?
  12. annam Yep. Knew you were a "she" by the context of your posts. Now, this is surely off topic, but here's the scoop(pun intended) on the stretch the coffee thing. Many eons ago, Uncle Harry suggested we "stretch" our coffee by adding new grounds to yesterday's grounds and adding a pinch of salt to cut the bitter taste. It tasted like----well, I think you get the idea. So, long story made even longer, that's the history of the stretched coffee analogies. May I offer you a cup of joe as a peace offering? I swear it isn't the stretched variety! :)
  13.   Was that stretched enough?
  14. I'll bet it still tastes better than "stretched" coffee! :B)
  15. I shall wait with baited breath. ( That's when you eat a carrott and then breathe down a rabbit hole.) :)
  16. MMMM! chicken------------Tastes a lot like rattlesnake! But speaking of old recipes, what about hassenfeffer(sp?)? It's an old German dish featuring rabbit and spaetzel. I loved it as a kid. Where would you even go to buy a cooking rabbit these days? p.s. Use only "farm" rabbit as wild rabbit tastes like-------------!
  17. " I have not given up on the Law of Liberty one bit."---Dr. W W That's a good thing. I did not want you to give up on ANYTHING. I only wanted you to explain how you feel about it in your own words without a lot of jargon. Thank you for doing that in your last post.
  18. I am always in awe of people who can produce visual art in any form. I can't even draw a stick figure without it breaking,
  19. I've always liked Cosby's stories. I consider him to be more of a story teller than a joke teller. However, I can't say that I remember this show at all. Gee, I wonder if it might have coincided with that time in my life when I didn't own a T.V.?
