HA! This whole thing sounds so much like Fellowlaborers, it's creepy. Our program was miniscule in comparison. We only graduated about 50 per year. There is only one other FLO that I know of that even posts here.(her hubby was FLO, also) We were supposed to commit ourselves to a total immersion type training program for 2 years and then return to our home areas as twig leaders, etc., even though I had already functioned at that level before becoming FLO. That was all I really wanted when I signed up. (To become a better leader for the people in the area I lived in.) We were promised an in-depth teaching of The Book Of Acts. Riiiight! Instead, we lived in a commune, had very little truly academic training and subjected ourselves to a grueling schedule of mundane chores and meeting after meeting where we were constantly chastised for not living up to our "true potential". On the plus side, I learned to make my own mayo from scratch and sprout mung beans and alfalfa, both being quite useful skills to possess as leaders of God's people. Ouch! I think I just bit my tongue. When the 2 years were finished, our home areas had changed so much we might as well have just moved to Mars. Sorry---Guess I got a bit off topic.

Are You Ready?--PG& E

Hi, doreen Welcome to the Cafe. Some of PDSTRO's stuff can be found on Myspace(Joe Fair or Pressed Down, Shaken Together, Running Over) I have never heard of Farley. Was this something that was perhaps released independently at a local level? Were you maybe thinking of Ted Farrell? Sorry I can't help more. This was some primo music without a doubt.

HEHEHE! Hey, Mr. Hamm. You can't have a difference BETWEEN three. ( That would call for the word "among".) Awww! chill----------I'm just yankin' yer chain. I think if you understand the person's point well enough to understand the corrected form, as I did in this case, then the act of correcting them is rather pointless. See my point?

By the power vested in me, I hereby pronounce you an official hockey/ soccer/ softball/ T-ball Mom. You may now kiss the trips across town by yourself goodby. (I hope you know I'm just funnin' with ya!) Congrats!

Ditto on the spa concept. It was my understanding that people of financial substance paid big bucks for these treatments. I think it might be somewhat similar to the mudbath, exfoliation, steamroom type treatments that we are familiar with. The pain inflicted there may have been TWI specific.

Here's a little thought that popped into my head. If it's rude to correct someone's Grammer, It it also rude to correct their Grammper? Just wondering.----------

Here's my 2 cents: It is far more important to try to understand the essense of what is being said than to correct spelling, etc. That doesn't mean it should never be done. Sometimes it is needed to extract the true meaning. If it doesn't serve a purpose, though, it's probably best to see past it. I work with the public and hear a lot of accents and mispronounced words. It's my belief that this subject( accents, etc.) is a paramutation of the subject at hand. If it doesn't serve a purpose, I try to focus on WHAT is being said. I find it helps me to think of the person as a child who has something very important to say but lacks the verbal skills to fully articulate. How would you correct your children? Can you ask leading questions to help clarify the point at hand? Now--- If'n yer jest talkin' 'bout the person bein' lazy--------- that thars somethin' else. <_<

I may be mistaken, but I think this one has been done before. Re: The Thresher I Googled it and found it to be a very interesting read. Memories of the tune have probably been overshadowed by the British Invasion.

As long as people need love, understanding and a sympathetic shoulder to cry on, there will need to be an ex-Way site.

Roy May I assume that when you ask "are you ready?" you are referring to the mental aspect and not so much the legal, paperwork considerations? Asking these questions and interacting around them is a valuable part of the readiness process. IMO.

I love music.-----All kinds-----------Always have. But, I have a special fondness for blues and harmonica oriented music. My avitar is a figurine(not one of those fancy schmantzy German ones) that someone who knows me very well gave me a few years ago. It's a kid sitting on a fence rail playing harmonica. On his left side is a hound dog with big floppy ears and wide open eyes looking up at him as he plays. My wife, also a "grad" but not a poster, took a picture of it and posted it for me. When I first saw it, I was surprised that it has an almost Norman Rockwell kind of feel to it. That's when my " grandchildren" started looking in over my shoulder and offering their own two cents. In case you haven't met them, they are Cletus(that's his name), Cleophus(he's the ornery one) and Clara Belle( that's short for Helen.) I suppose that, in a sense, my avitar is really a part of me that most people never see. Ha Ha-- My grandson Cletus( that's his name) just said, "Geepers, Grandpa Waysider, are you really gonna post that sappy junk?" Now, where do you suppose a modern day kid got a word like "sappy"?

annam Yep. Knew you were a "she" by the context of your posts. Now, this is surely off topic, but here's the scoop(pun intended) on the stretch the coffee thing. Many eons ago, Uncle Harry suggested we "stretch" our coffee by adding new grounds to yesterday's grounds and adding a pinch of salt to cut the bitter taste. It tasted like----well, I think you get the idea. So, long story made even longer, that's the history of the stretched coffee analogies. May I offer you a cup of joe as a peace offering? I swear it isn't the stretched variety! :)

   Was that stretched enough?

I'll bet it still tastes better than "stretched" coffee! :B)
