  1. Dooj At the top are some search boxes. Click on site resourses. At the bottom are some options that will take you to another story.
  2. http://www.thewritingmachine.net/archives/...ntula_attac.php Has anyone been to this web site? It's a memoir and collection of writings by a young man who grew up in The Way. The last time I saw him he was just a tiny tot with long golden hair, whose boundless energy had him bouncing off the walls of Mason's Hall while we adults chanted choruses of What A Friend We Have In Jesus. If you go, be sure to read his bio.
  3. Ahhhh! Mr. Natural, himself. Keep on truckin'!
  4. You are correct sir. It is also part of the soundtrack for The Big Fish, a quirky but entertaining movie from a couple years ago. It was done originally by The Vogues. I think it was recorded in about 1965 or thereabouts.
  5. Up every mornin just to keep my job I gotta fight my way through the hustling mob Sounds of the city poundin in my brain While another day goes down the drain
  6. HaHaHaHa! You heard it here first. MIKE admits to being a "trinitarian".
  7. Is it What's Goin' On? ------------Marvin Gaye?
  8. Here is what the Advanced Class syllabus says on page 22/ 1971 version. (1). Keeping devil spirits out: (a). They lodge in your mind to control your "telephone system," your internal communications. (b). They lodge in your physical body- as diseases that have life of themselves. From page 17 : (11) They are the cause of mental and physical disease. From page 19: (2) A born-again saved believer may become afflicted with evil spirits. The spirits may affect or possess mind and/or body, but not the spirit.
  9. God "told" MIKE you might say that.
  10. Would you be so kind as to point me to those reasons you have already posted?
  11. Gee, I would have thought your response to those questions would have elicited a rather short post.
  12. Ya know there's a reason it's good to wear long pants and long sleeve shirts in the garden, not the least of which is----------------POISON IVY!!
  13. And those reasons would be--------------------------??
  14. Breaking news! VPW was the "Moses" of our day and age! I never really realized it until Mike pointed out the parallel in post #46. Yeah, ya see, they both wrote stuff and both are dead. See how it all fits like a hand in one of those hand things? Hey, MIKE, Karl Marx wrote stuff and he's dead, too. Maybe he was the Apostle Paul of our day and time. Whatta ya think? "Speaking in tongues daily is a prerequisite to revelation."(key #3) Sorry, MIKE, I don't see the word if in there, nor do I see it being implied. It's a straight forward statement. You then say that key #3 is a recommendation, not an absolute. Does that mean that some things Dr. Wierwille said may not have been God breathed, just his personal recommendation? How can I tell the difference between the two? I'm anxious to know. Let me just come out and say it. I don't believe you have to speak in tongues on a daily basis to be able to receive revelation. In fact, I don't think it has a darned thing to do with it. Nor do I believe for a minute that SIT is "spiritual mashed potatoes"(As I once heard VPW call it) for the "baby" "Christ In You" that nourishes and strengthens it. But, hey, that's just my opinion. I'm looking forward to hearing your opinion on this matter.
  15. Perception Becomes Reality When I was quite new in the Word, I perceived VPW to be a con artist. I discussed it with my leadership and was told that my thoughts were evidence of "unrenewed mind". I was so new, I didn't even know what renewed mind was so he had to explain it to me. Over the next several tears, as I would recall this particular incident, I felt a sense of guilt that I had even allowed myself to think this of the great "Man Of God". HaHaHa! I stumbled into GreaseSpot, one day, and discovered that my guilt feelings had been unwarranted. I found out that he really was the con man I initially perceived him to be. Sometimes, in this life, perception does become reality.
  16. From the same page of the AC syllabus: Key # 3 "Speaking in tongues daily is prerequisite to revelation." Total Horse Cr@p!
  17. Speaking only for myself, I have to say it has helped me to realize I no longer have to feel guilty about leaving the "one true household" when, in fact, all I did was sever my ties with a cult. Is it possible? If God is real and he does give revelation, is it possible that He told someone that all was not right and they should "bail out"? If that person failed to act on their revelation or acted but was overruled, is it possible that person will change their perception of the revelation given? Is it possible it could help to ease a sense of guilt for that person?

  19. Does this sound anything like the way tree structure?
  20. I don't want to get too far from the topic at hand(The development of the way tree structure) but something occurred to me a few posts back? Has anyone ever seriously investigated the validity of Pillai's teachings? I'm not saying he was wrong or that he wasn't a real swell guy. I'm just asking how we know that what he taught was accurate. Supposedly, Pillai was an expert on Eastern customs and thought because he was born, raised and trained in the East. "Since Bishop Pillai, by birth and training, understands the Eastern thought which is the mind of the Bible, his unique contribution to the ministry in America is in clarifying difficult passages and pointing up their spiritual applications." ( From the back cover of Light Through An Eastern Window) By that rationale, there ought to be millions and millions of "experts" on Eastern thought. Heck, I was born and raised in Cleveland, but I can't dance the polka to save my life. (Neither the "German style" nor the "Cleveland style".) And, even though I can devour pierogies with the best of them, you would starve to death if you had to depend on my expertise in making or cooking them. I'm definately no "expert" on Cleveland-isms How did we get on that OLG thing in the first place? And what the heck does it have to do with the structure of The Way Tree? PS-- Sorry for the derail about the car.( I'm almost certain it was a red Pontiac with a white rag top.)
  21. Thanks for the info, WG Do you remember when Les sang with "Foreordained" and wife J. played piano? Les had a beautiful tenor voice. The two of them combined had a boatload of musical talent. They were both very caring and generous people, always ready to give of themselves to help someone in need. The ministry was built on the generosity and good will of people like them. Maybe I should say it was built at the "expense" of people like them. I was saddened to hear of his death The only answers I could get were the usual "lack of believing" drivel. WordsandWorks--- So glad to her about your locating Liz. Please let us know the outcome of your reconnection. Thanks, everybody, for your caring responses.
  22. Hey! You have to hand it to the old guy. He sure knew how to keep his needs and wants parallel.
