  1. Hiya, Roy! Yes, when I started reading your posts I had some difficulty following where you were going. But, as I read more and more, I became acclimated to the rhythm and saw past the grammatical trivia. There's an old album by bluesman Howlin' Wolf that includes a recording of The Wolf trying to teach the Rolling Stones how to play Little Red Rooster. They just can't seem to understand how to flow with the rhythm and Wolf gets kinda frustrated. They meet someplace in the middle and record a pretty good version of it. I guess that's how it is here sometimes. You have to meet in the middle and try to find the rhythm that will make it flow.
  2. Paul Craft wrote it. Bobby Bare recorded it. I think Kris Kristoferson also covered it at one time.
  3. I still say the best thing to do is not even consider that something might be wrong. After all, isn't that what led to Eve's downfall?
  4. RE: Keep On The Sunny Side Man!--Check out that Gibson L-5. It looks humongous. Guess I shoulda put that in Guitar Talk, huh?
  5. Don't let nobody drag your spirit down!!!
  6. I stand corrected. I should have read their disclaimer a bit closer. Still, by offering a link, they seem to be, at the very least, presenting an endorsement. (Disclaimer not withstanding.)

  8. T-Bone said: Grease Spot is not a church – nor is it even a representative cross-section of today's churches – it is not a religious website. Then WTH said: Of course GSC is a church. A church is merely an assemblage of people who are called out for a specific pupose. An assemblage doesn't have to be "religious" in order to be defined as "a church". The Greek word for church is: "ekklessia" meaning "the called-out." People can be called out for various reasons - and GSC certainly has it's reason's for being a called-out assemblage. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I think we're all pretty much aware of how the term"church" was defined in The Way. I might be mistaken, but I believe T-Bone was using the term "church" in a more conventional, universally recognized sense. If he wasn't, I'm sure he will say so.
  9. In the spirit of fairness, I am posting this link which does clearly show that SOWERS is a product of the CFF organization. There is also some rather vague information regarding their fellow laborer program. One of the current members, Nathan, has posted here recently. It does not appear to resemble the old FLO, which was a 24/7 "in residence" program. No matter. I have no intention of participating. Nope. Not for all the millet in ------wherever it is they grow millet. http://www.cffm.org/doc/links.shtml
  10. I'd like to see a statue of a big tongue. (Like the one on that old Stones album cover.) There would be a plaque at its base with the following inscription: Lo shanta shanta bo banta Bananna fana fo fanta Fee fie mo manta---shanta
  11. If you're blue and you don't know where to go to why do you go where fashion sits?
  12. Hey there JL I just read your last post and I think I understand what you are saying.(kinda) The thing is, though, for some people, the venting and getting angry is actually a part of the forgiveness process, not an alternative. You ever boil a tea kettle with one of those whistle things on the spout? It gets hotter and hotter and hotter until, finally, it whistles up a storm and steams to beat the band. So then you take it off the fire and let it start to cool. You can't really skip the part where it whistles even though the noise might drive you bonkers. People need to be allowed to get to the point where they "whistle" freely. Only they can say when they have whistled enough and then remove themselves from the heat. Seeing some of this stuff, such as a clone of the Way Corps revisited, tends to turn the fire back on where the water has already started to cool. I don't know if that makes sense but it's all I've got right now. Peace, Brother waysider
  13. I just want to know if they plan to make their mayo from scratch. Well, that and whether or not there is a truck stop nearby.

I stand corrected. The harmonica player in my last post is the late Terry Lee McMillan. (The clip is 16 years old) Sorry for the incorrect info. BTW--- That last Chet A. clip was Awesome!
  17. Let's all take our String Along the Way books and turn to "Stranded On The Premises". Straaanded Straaanded---- Come on everybody, sing with me! Cookies?? No problem. Just reach up in the horn of plenty cookie jar. HaHaHaHaHa!! I sure do love ya, Oldies. Yer the best! And now let's dig deep into our pockets and take up a "love offering" for that vintage Indian motorcycle I've been lusting after that would "bless" me so much. Maybe I should just bang my head against the wall. At least I know it'll feel good to quit.
  18. I'd like to see the part of VPW played by Divine. (Yeah, I know he's dead but this is fantasy.) Maybe Howard could be played by Pee Wee H3rman. "He He---He He---I meant to do that"
