  1. "Brother Thomas will be there, without a doubt." HaHa! Couldn't resist. That's a line from an old Phil Keaggy(Glass Harp) song.
  2. I'm coming up empty on this one. ;-)

  4. The moon is made of green cheese. (God knew in his foreknowledge I would post that.)
  5. It was my impression that the poster was referring to (The Apostle) Paul. (ie: Paul as he ministered to The Church, not Paul before he was entrusted with his calling.)
  6. I wanted to add that comparing The Apostle Paul to a WOW ambassador PFAL salesman is just plain laughable Note to my fellow posters: ----------------------------------- So sorry I spoiled the big I Cor. 3: 17 climax. I guess we'll never find out the true meaning now. Perhaps someone will stumble on it again 2,000 years from now. and preserve it in "class form" for all posterity.
  7. Don't quit your day job, Mike. The analogy is weak. The parallels are even weaker. Sorry, Dude. It would be cruel on my part to lead you to believe otherwise.
  8. I don't recall claiming"victimhood" or using the word "victim".
  9. Wild dogs, either feral or those that run in packs during their time away from home base, have always been a much greater, and more real threat than coyotes. A friend of mine shot and killed a dozen of them in one night as they set up a circle around him at dusk and gradually kept tightening the circle. Yeah, I know, he was foolish to be out there alone. He made it back to his truck and got away. When he returned the next day to see what he had been shooting, he discovered they were dogs from nearby farms. Another thing that happens here is that the coyotes cross breed with the farm dogs. They look just like coyotes until measurements are taken postmortem. A guy I work with bagged one that had become a pest on his farm. It weighed in at 85 pounds!! It looked for all the world just like a coyote except for it's mammoth size.
  10. The mind is not a physical entity. It's a collection of thoughts----- nothing more, nothing less. With that said, it should be obvious to anyone who spent time in the organization how the term "mind control" applies to what many experienced in The Way. We were all instructed to think "the same thing".(likemindedness) That "same thing" was what was fed to us in well measured portions. We were not to deviate from that diet, per session #7, which told us it was unacceptable to question something that must be bigger than our understanding. The contents of our thoughts were dictated to us under the premise of representing what "The Word" said. Really, it was what we were TOLD "The Word" said. And so, by controlling what we were to think, "the TWI system of reason" came to control our thinking, ergo our minds. Now, if a person(or persons) were to still buy into the admonition regarding avoidance of consideration, it would surely be quite difficult for that individual(s) to accept the concept of thought/mind control. On a side note: I had to fill out a questionnaire for a medical screening recently. As silly as this may sound, the very first question was, "Can you read?" If you answer "no", wouldn't that really indicate "yes"? So, if a person's thoughts are still controlled and they are averse to consideration, the door is locked from both sides. I was able to relate closely to what has been said thus far.
  11. I saw one just yesterday morning as I looked out the back door at work. It was dawn and at the height of rush hour. He was leisurely trotting along the rail road tracks that run right beside a major highway. (St. Rt. 33 in Fairfield County, for those who are familiar with this stretch of road.) Every so often, he paused to look at the long line of stopped traffic that was only a few feet away from him. They don't usually get very big around here. Forty pounds would be a very large one. That in itself greatly limits the size of their potential prey. Mostly they are content to feed on mice and rabbits and feral cats and even grasshoppers and various insects. They usually chase out any foxes in the area so that they won't have to compete for food. So, if you observe the presence of foxes, there probably aren't many coyotes nearby or there is plenty of food for both to share. I've never heard of them taking down deer or anything large; but they are wild and they are crafty so you never know. Also, they tend to hunt more as individuals than in packs like wolves do. But again, they are wild and crafty. Your local wildlife control authorities would be your best source of information regarding their control.
  12. Oh, Had I A Golden Thread
  13. Hi, Jonny Thanks for that background on The Sing-Song Girls. There is a link above the vid-clip that gives some information regarding the "Bread and Roses Strike of 1912". Not all who died to make this country what it is today, did so on foreign soil. Many brave souls stood the picket lines and sacrificed their safety, comfort, and even their very lives to bring about the changes that shaped our country into what it is today. They did so because working conditions had become intolerable and inhumane. Many of those brave souls were women, as evidenced by looking at the history of "The Bread and Roses Strike of 1912".
  14. Total Load of Toss!! HaHaHaHa! Never heard that expression before. Good gravy, I must be gettin' old! Sigh!
  15. Nope. Bought the book but never cracked the cover. :)

  17. Mike Have you sought out professional help? I don't mean that to sound facetious. You got conned just like the rest of us. There's no shame in that. Lots and lots of very bright people were fooled, also. Maybe someone who is trained to deal with these things can help you. I'm sure someone could direct you to the proper sources of help. You could PM them in private and no one would have to know. waysider
  18. Good luck to you, Mikey I hope you catch that "golden pony" some day.
  19. "What we have here is a failure to communicate dividerate."
  20. Yo Mikey! Who said anything about total trust and ultimate authority or letting someone think for me? (Of course, you probably realize that accepting PFAL as God-Breathed is exactly that.) Wasn't it you who posted recently how you made it your personal effort to re-search the things you had been taught? So go ahead, then; re-search the accuracy of "4 crucified" or "Cry of Triumph" or "tithing" as it applies to the 21st century. When you get done with those, there are plenty more. BTW----What's the skinny on that verse in I Corrinthians, anyway? I'm just bouncing off the walls in anticipation. A brief synopsis would be plenty.
  21. Hi, Vermontlaw! I knew if anyone would remember that book, you would, because it seemed like all the young ladies in your hometown had a copy. I remember how they used to parrot various sections of it in a sarcastically mocking manner. It was really all great fun hearing them slice and dice it. Oh, Gosh Golly Gee! A truly PROPER lady would NEVER want to become something so unlady-like as a doctor or an attorney, now would she? HeeHee Prrrrrr! :)
  22. Hmmmm! You might try these on for starters. http://www.greasespotcafe.com/ipb/index.ph...amp;#entry21847
  23. So, Mike----- Why do you suppose God chose to give Dr. W. revelation to incorporate materials that would later prove to be Biblically inaccurate? I mean, if this was God's best shot in 2,000 years of getting his "righty divided" Word presented to the masses, wouldn't it make sense for Him to avoid the stuff that didn't pass muster? Heck, it's "The Integrity of The Word" that's always at stake. Am I right? You don't have to answer on this thread if you think it will be off-topic. Perhaps the "The Great Mystery" thread would be a more appropriate place to post your response. Probably just a "synopsis" would be adequate. Enquiring "grads" want to know.
