  1. Here's a little clue. The song is actually somewhat tongue in cheek. If you listen closely to the lyrics, you will find they are mildly poking fun at this particular genre. That becomes even clearer when you see the direction their careers took after this effort. Here's another snippet: "You're my pride and joy, etc."
  2. What a great song! Written by Willie Nelson, BTW.
  3. Sorry, Brush I never took the "New And Improved" series so I can't compare the two.
  4. jeast The thread I referred to is in the "soap opera" forum. It's titled "All women belonged to VPW." (It's a long one!!)

  6. Hey!!! Itsn't that what WE did??
  7. T-Birds ft. Kid Ramos
  8. Re: This will potentially be harder than I thought "Your Honor, I present the "Just got back from church" thread as exhibit A."
  9. I really think you're groovy. Let's go out to a movie. Whatta ya say now?
  10. Fellow Laborers was a two year, in-rez. program in Ohio. The term "tour of duty" was used with a bit of tongue in cheek.
  11. Ha!! Not me. I'm still a kid!!
  12. Paging Cindy Roberts!! caseyqueen is looking for you
  13. Ya know--- Something tells me you're gonna be just fine, kiddo. :)
  14. William Wicherly----The Country Wife?????
  15. Chronology is of the essence. This subject was discussed here about 8 or 9 months ago but I don't recall the thread title.
  16. OK-- There's a bit of twisted irony here. This is from Steal This Album. Your name is Abi. There is a very famous book titled Steal This Book which was written by another Abbie. (Abbie Hoffman) Well, the gender is different but I chuckled about it anyway. :)
  17. House Of The Rising Sun----(Traditional) as done by The Animals
  18. Tommy Castro-----------------Nasty Habits
  19. Time and Era First "tour of duty" was 1975-1977 Is that radically different?
  20. Do I need to paste my post(#4 )or can I just direct your attention to it? Yeah, we had unstructured time-----from midnight to 5am. (And a little bit on the weekend for doing laundry, etc.) Doing laundry with a member of the opposite sex(instead of a car full of other FLO) was about as close to a "date" as you could hope to get most of the time. In regard to curriculum------------- it was almost nonexistent. There were maybe two TV's in the whole program and they were NOT for public usage. They were personal property. It wouldn't have mattered anyway because there was rarely a time you could have just sat and watched a ball game even if you wanted to.
  21. Sorry. I thought someone would get that one right away. *Sigh* NEXT!
  22. Fast forward to approx. 7:40 for the tongues sequence. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dD2Hyiitpys
  23. I don't see it as a question of whether or not the final decision was theirs. The point is, outside forces may have contributed to their decisions. In this case, the outside force was an irresponsibly dangerous program administered by the Way Ministry.
  24. This appears to be an extreme departure from the experience that many others had, including myself.
  25. My first exposure to the L.E.A.D. accident and surrounding events came via GreaseSpot Cafe. My personal feeling is that these events and details were deliberately hidden from the general populace of the ministry. I have never seen a rebuttal from The Way, either, even though we are all quite aware they know the incident has been discussed here.
