  1. Hmmmmm! Is that Just Dropped In To See What Condition My Condition Was In.------? (First Edition with Kenny Rogers)---------?
  2. Oh for goodness sake, people. This is serious stuff. How are we ever gonna put a class together if we keep having fun?
  3. It's just some silly stuff that happened 30+ years ago.
  4. I am done "running with the cows". That's it. Kapoot. No more. Ain't gonna "run to the tree and back" and you can't make me! No more Pumas, Brooks, sweat suits or anything else Phhhtttt! And maybe I'm going out on a limb here, but I think WG and another FLO here "ain't gonna run no more" with me . HA!! Put that in your sprout jar and rinse it!
  5. Well, gosh darn it! Maybe they didn't actually "belong" to him but he was entitled to them because he was the Man Of Gawd For Our Day And Time, dontcha know? Darn right there's no comparison. Henry VIII was merely the King Of England whereas VeePee was King of The Whole Stinkin' World!!!
  6. Here is an example of the types of things you will find in that particular session: (Page 33/PFAL syllabus) Natural Knowledge Five senses can see the results and manifestation of Designer, but not the Designer. 1. Natural knowledge cannot find God so natural man cannot believe in God. "Pure reason" leads to the highest science of the five senses which is philosophy; there speculation sets in which leads to theories, defeat and destruction. --------and that's just one little paragraph out of a 36 hour long emotionally charged class. <_<
  7. Hello, Brushstroke I agree that it can be enlightening and beneficial to consider a variety of viewpoints on any given subject. One problem you will encounter with Way followers, though, is that they are specifically taught that doing so will ultimately lead to their failure. This comes from a session of the PFAL class titled Body, Soul and Spirit . (session #7) It was taught in this session that there were five steps that led to Eve's downfall. The first, and most critical of these steps, was that she let her guard down by considering what the serpent was saying. Trying to discuss alternate meanings with a wayfer is like trying to send spam to someone who has a state of the art firewall. If you can get past the firewall you might at least stand a chance of having them consider what you are proposing. Even today, decades later, there are people who are afraid to let go of this harmful conditioning.
  8. Just a quick thought here. Maybe you should consider renting something for a day to see if it's the type of equipment you need. Better yet, if this is just a once or twice a year task, you may want to go that route permanently.
  9. Quite a bit of what was "taught" in TWI was done so by virtue of OJT (On The Job Training). Just because something does not appear in a book or tape or magazine or class, does not negate the reality that it was taught. The proof that these things were "taught" is manifest in the finished product of the workman just as the finished product of a bricklayer is evidence of the OJT the workman received. It has long been my belief that a large amount of the damages caused by TWI came more from the lifestyle we led than from the various academic doctrines such as 4 crucified, etc. To catagorize these lessons as being Non-TWI is an incorrect and unrealistically minimizing assessment of their effects. OJT played a major role in the believer's "education" once he or she submitted themselves to a program such as The Corps or Fellow Laborers.
  10. Well, Ya know----- The infamous dog from the porno flick discussed in CF&S WAS a German Shepherd!
  11. I got no kick against modern jazz Unless they try to play it too darn fast.
  12. Pete Sanchez!!!!?? Oh,man! He and I go way back. We went to different schools together.
  13. Is it----Walkin' In Memphis by Marc Cohen?
  14. Well, this is a slight diversion from the immediate subject at hand. My Dad tells a story of how, as a kid in the pre WWII days, he got a job at a local "hot house" tending tomato plants. He made 10 cents an hour. :(
  15. I don't know. By 1976 I was already a "waysider" trudging down to the truck stop under the guise of a "junk run" to have private conversations with my fellow FLO. Little did we know, though, that a lot of the stuff that wasn't making sense to us was not confined to our little program in the middle of Podunk, USA. For me, at least, the "sweet times" were all before I moved on from being a twiggie at the local level. Part of the problem, in my opinion, was that TWI was really nothing more than a multi level marketing effort.(MLM) Sooner or later, somebody has to move past the point of bringing in new recruits and start "selling the soap". I recruit Joe, Joe recruits Fred, Fred recruits Oscar and on and on and on. We were all so busy recruiting, we didn't notice that nobody was "selling the soap". (Living the Abundant Life that "PLAF(The Wonder Class)" was supposed to enable us to do.)
  16. Oh my goodness. I looked at that link. I am not familiar with these books but look at the subject matter. http://www.cslovettbooks.com/1010.html http://www.cslovettbooks.com/1020.html
  17. Subterranean Homesick Blues----- Bobby "Zimmy" Zimmerman Ummm---- Is that correct?
  18. In my pre-TWI days I read a book called Dealing With The Devil. I'm not sure if it was the one by C.S. Lovett or not. This would have been in about 1969 or 1970. The book has long since disappeared from my collection. One of the main ideas of the book was that you are supposed to memorize scripture and speak it directly to the devil when he attacks. It reminds me a lot of the retemory concept. Is anyone familiar with this book? Maybe it's just a coincidence that the title is so similar to Dealing with The Adversary, I'm not sure. I do remember, though, that the "On-Guard!" concept was there, though it was not stated in those words. Any thoughts or recollections along these lines?
