  1. Personally, I don't give a rat's patootie if he had a legitimate PhD from Oxford. It would not negate the vile nature of the scam he ran out of New Knockwurst, Ahia. In fact, it would probably shed a more favorable light on him if the degree was proven worthless. Who would want to be known for abusing a REAL degree from a prestigious organization to orchestrate the mayhem that has become his legacy?
  2. George These are much more subtle and devious than that. Here is a sample. (Notice that you must reply to a gmail or GMX address first) BTW---This is darn good pay for a laborer here. ------------------------------------------------------------------ General Labor Workers wanted – Great Pay + Benefits! 3. "All" is a really big word. I think you would have to evaluate each one based on its own merits.
  4. Are you looking for a job? Be on your toes. There is a lot of scamming going on at sites such as Craig's List. I don't claim to know a lot about it but here's the general picture. You see an ad that has specific details regarding hours, duties, pay, etc. It sounds very real. You click on the anonymous link and are sent to an email with a real sounding person's name. The address does not show a company but instead may be a gmail address. You submit a resume and cover sheet. Next you are auto-contacted, thanking you for your interest in the position. At this point you are told you must also fill out an on-line application and directed to another site such as the careerwizard.com. The application asks for the basics such as name, phone, email. When you click "continue" it may direct you to a page for on-line schools or it may just thank you for your application and then close. At the very least, they sell this info to spammers. But who knows what else they might do with it? This stuff is bound to get more abundant and cleverly subtle as the economy worsens. BE CAREFUL!!!
  5. Actually, I think P.T. Barnum might have been offended by the comparison. Barnum didn't try to hide his motives. Phineas Taylor Barnum (July 5, 1810 – April 7, 1891) was an American showman remembered for hoaxes and for founding the circus that became the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. Barnum never flinched from his stated goal "to put money in his own coffers." He was a businessman, his profession was entertainment, and he was perhaps the first "show business" millionaire. He never said "There's a sucker born every minute" but his rebuttal to critics was often "I am a showman by profession...and all the gilding shall make nothing else of me." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P._T._Barnum

    Halloween

---The Lord spake unto Joshua, the son of Nun---- You should have told him it was OK to ask a few questions but not to get in the habit.
  8. It was Thomas J. Anderson, a high ranking member of the John Birch Society. The JBS believed, at that time, that there was an Illuminati based conspiracy to gain World Power. See the connection? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_J._Anderson http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_American_Party
  9. In 1976 (Ohio) were were told to write-in a particular candidate. I can't remember who it was but it wasn't McCarthy. That was a vote down the crrrapper.
  10. I think there are really two separate questions here. Was it a cult? and Was I in a cult? I think we all pretty much know the answer to the first question. But whether you were in or out really depends on your level of involvement and commitment and how many bridges you burned on your journey. If you didn't burn many bridges, you may not perceive your experience as being a cult experience. Personally, looking back on my Fellow Laborer experience, I would have to accept that I was in a cult. This is based not only on the communal lifestyle we lived, but on how many bridges I burned to get there and how many more I burned to stay there. Only you can answer from both a subjective and objective viewpoint whether your involvement meets the criteria. IMO
  11. This is from page 6 of DWA, mid 1970s: "Satan manipulates the minds of God's people with surprising ease and efficiency. The undisciplined mind is open to Satan's attacks." (Same idea---just stated a bit differently.)
  12. Here is one variation from the 1973 Advanced Class (Session on discerning of spirits) TRAP DOOR "The break in your unrenewed mind which gives a tendency or weak characteristic which allows the adversary to get a hold in your unrenewed mind." (It's a bit convoluted but it's really the same essence as " If you don't control your thoughts, the adversary will.")
  13. It's the central concept behind Dealing With The Adversary and the purpose of Retemory Cards.----"On Guard!!!"
  14. Holy Moly Didn't you just have one of these last year??
  15. Sudo That goes all the way back to the Bishop Pillai days. (Monkeys in a cage, birds nesting in your mind, etc.) It's been reworded and retooled in a multitude of various ways. It's been used throughout TWI teachings for many years, especially in RM and DWA classes and teachings as well as the AC.
  16. It's really comical in a way. On another forum I participate in, there is a discussion taking place---- about the current lull in action. People come and people go. Some come back. Topics are revisited by newbies who have no idea the place was bubbling in controversy over the same topic 4 or 5 years ago. But, as one of the late founders of the other forum once said, "Let 'em all talk and see what they have to say." :)
  17. It's nice to know I'm not the only one with that problem.
  18. I believe ScoutFinch02 is the winner!!! Here is a ink to Western State College of Colorado that shows the big "W". http://www.western.edu/
  19. Gunnison's school district is officially called Gunnison Watershed School District. I don't really know if that explains the "W". Just a wild arse guess.
  20. Thanks, Linda (Guess I should have put this on About The Way)
