  1. I thought my request was quite reasonable. What is GMWD? What is on page 14 that you wish to call attention to?
  2. Refresh my memory. What is GMWD? Can you be more specific about what is on page 14? (I doubt I have a copy to reference)
  3. Perhaps you could bring one of those fine points (or one of the finer details) "to the table", as you say. If it helps it make more sense, I would think you would be eager to do so.

    Guitar Talk

Any of you guys or gals familiar with Charlie Musselwhite, the harmonica player? He has an amp for sale. It's an HG 30. That's a HarpGear amp set up specifically for harp. It's a 30W tube amp and has (2) 8" speakers. He'll even autograph it if you want. If it sounds like something that interests you, shoot me a PM.
  5. In the May/June1979 issue of the Way Magazine the Our Times article by Dr titled “How the Word Works” talked about mastering the Word. In that same issue was the main article titled “Masters of the Word.” In that Our Times article we read: "At these occasions, the years of Biblical research I have spent come back to my mind, and joy wells up inside me as I think of what is available to you today through The Way Ministry in book and magazine form, setting forth the accuracy of God’s Word. This research took me years to work out, and now you can see the depth of it in just a few short hours of reading. Any person who works this material will have a fantastic opportunity to see how the Word works." ********************************** Call Now!! Operators are standing by!! HELLO?? It's a stinkin' commercial plug, for gosh sakes!
  6. Wasn't it common for believers to refer to something as "being from the pit (of hell)", "from the adversary", "from the devil", etc.? So which was it? Did the subject being referred to come from a spiritual entity (the adversary) or from a figurative location (the pit)? I submit the essence being conveyed was synonymous whichever way it was stated.

waysider said: It's a crime? I wasn't aware our laws apply in French controlled territories. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WD replied: Yes it is a crime QUOTE The French Embassy in Washington, D.C., issued a written statement condemning the use of dogs as shark bait, emphasizing that such acts are illegal and will not be tolerated in the French territory. Again I never said our laws applied anywhere that is your assumption. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- waysider replied: I never assumed our laws applied either. And they don't. If you want me to agree that animal cruelty is appalling, you got it. But please don't fudge my words to make it appear as if I said something that I didn't. Criminality is relative to the jurisdiction where it occurs.
  9. Yes, accuracy is important. Sometimes it requires going beyond the simply stated and exploring the veiled implications.
  10. Perhaps I didn't state my case clearly enough. I did NOT, in fact, say that the premise skyrider presented is/was-----PFAL=An inroad to The Word. That is a conclusion I drew from wierwille's promotions of "the class". Here is that post again. ****************** QUOTE (oldiesman @ Jan 16 2009, 10:49 AM) * I disagree with the premise that TWI promoted PFAL as the god breathed word. waysider replied: That's not an accurate assessment of the premise as it was portrayed in the post that started this thread. In other words, you have now introduced a diversionary premise, one that is much easier to refute. The original premise was--------TWI's mission statement was/is PFAL= The Word. It doesn't even mention PFAL being God-Breathed. The original inspiration was said to be a product of revelation/phenomenon, yes, but not the class itself. In fact, the concept that wierwille promoted was that the average Joe could use the "principles" he taught in PFAL (not revelation) to arrive at an in-depth understanding of The Word that exceeded whatever else was available on the market. So the class was supposed to be an inroad to----"The Word". (Do you see the conclusion being drawn?) "If you don't understand something, just ask me, I'll tell you."------VPW Just write "The Teacher".
  11. Hmmmm. Maybe it's part of that "mathematical exactness". You know, it's "axiomatic".
  12. Mike That's called cherry picking. You can certainly do that if you so choose. It doesn't bolster the credibility of your argument, though.

I never said that animals should not be humanely treated. What I said is that it's none of our business to tell people in other parts of the world what they should and shouldn't eat nor is it our responsibility to control their production methods. We are not the world's "police force".

Has anything like this ever happened?---Probably. Is it likely to be a widespread practice?---I doubt it. As callous as this may seem, why is it really any of our business what people outside of our country are doing to supply the food chain? In South Korea, dogs are raised as livestock and butchered for food. It's technically illegal but, for the most part, unenforced. It doesn't represent the diet of the majority of the population. Probably only about 10% (3 million) include it in their diets which are primarily vegetarian based. Is it our place to stop them? In France, foie gras is a popular food item. For those who are unfamiliar, foie gras is produced by forcing food down a goose's throat using a metal pipe. This is done to enlarge the goose's liver. Again, do we have a right to stop them? While I agree that such a practice is cruel, maybe we should focus some of our empathy toward helping the people in Mississippi and Louisiana who have yet to recover from Katrina. Just my opinion

  18. Thanks!! That's my favorite version of that song.
  19. Ah, yes Just take "the class". Like the first free hit a drug peddler fronts some naive kid on the playground. (except it wasn't even free.) Wierwille was an entrepreneur. PLAF (The Wonder Class) was his core product. But Wait!! There's More!!! You also need TIP, AC, WC, KTS, DWA, WOW, FLO, CFS, PDSTRO, PCP, LSD, and a partridge in a way tree. Call now! Operators are standing by, waiting for you to answer the question, "Your pen or mine?" AND---If you act right now and sign "the green card", we'll also include an obligation to commit 15% of your hard earned cash. AS an added bonus to the first 100,000 callers, we will personally ask God to spit in your direction. (Offer void in states where insanity is prohibited.)

I had a cat once that decided to investigate my fishing gear on a Christmas Eve. They are curious creatures, after all. Oh what fun it is to ride----to Vet Hospital with a screaming cat!
  21. Thanks, guys It's been a year or two since I listened to that teaching. I appreciate your input.
  22. Tainted----To contaminate morally. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/tainted QUOTE (oldiesman @ Jan 15 2009, 02:17 PM) * If sin taints truth, I suppose there'd be no bible, no teaching, no preaching as well because all have sinned. waysider replied: If sin didn't taint Truth, there would be no reason for the admonition to be "beyond reproach". Used in a sentence: Wierwille's reprobate lifestyle tainted (morally contaminated) the validity of his snowstorm claim. Reproach---To be a cause of blame or discredit to. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/reproach I Timothy3: If a man desires the office of a bishop------------------he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil. Used in a sentence: Wierwille's reprobate lifestyle has brought reproach (is cause to discredit) to the validity of the snowstorm claim.
  23. Ya know, I'm just wondering. If PFAL is our only rule of faith and practice, how does that affect the monetary value of the thousands of SNS tapes that don't deal directly with The "Orange"Book? I hope the ebay crowd doesn't get wind of this. It could plummet the market into a tailspin.
