  1. I smoked my first cigarette at 10. And for girls, I had a bad yen. And I had quite a ball.
  2. I have not watched this. I'm simply posting the link in reference to the initial post. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XK1pnCldKZI
  3. Take the time to Journey to The Center of the Mind.
  4. Here's hoping all you Mommies/Grandmommies have a wonderful day.
  5. TWI taught that the real you was a spiritual creation that was equal to the "Christ in you". Were were nutso hippie kids---what did we know?
  6. ROA was Farmer Vic's cash cow. He brought that calf into this world and knew exactly what it needed to stay healthy. He knew exactly how to milk it for maximum production. When Farmer Vic "bought the farm", the feeding and care directions were either lost or misunderstood. Hence, the cow succumbed to an inevitable demise.

    Tourism Video

Be it ever so squalid, there's no place like home. (So many fond memories of my childhood there.) Here's a salute to Boston from 1966. DIRTY WATER
  8. That's an amazing piece, Mstar. The subtle piano undercurrent supplies a perfectly intriguing aspect to the whole.
  9. Several years ago, at a previous house, I set a large container of rose hips outside and forgot about it over the winter. The following spring, I discarded the container in a fallow spot beside my garage. I didn't give it another thought until, two years later, the entire area erupted in an onslaught of Rugosa. When they were in bloom, the aroma carried for at least a hundred feet after the evening sun set. Quite a pleasant result from a forgetful gesture.
  10. Baby Don't Do It Carina
  11. I met my first love at 13. She was brown and I was pretty green. And I learned quite a lot.
  12. I Know A Place-----Petula Clark
  13. SHHHH!! Don't tell anybody. One time I ran a whole class with fresh (not stretched) coffee for every session. Oops! I almost forgot----I paid for the coffee myself :(
  14. Cleaning up the "cotton" from the cottonwood trees. That just cracks me up. "Hey, kids!, whadda ya say we take a perfectly beautiful display of nature and eliminate it so it can appear more natural." COTTONWOOD SNOW
  15. VPW taught, in PLAF (The Wonder Class), that your breath-life is equal to your soul and that your soul is what makes you "you". In my opinion, that is a gross misrepresentation of whatever it is that represents your individuality and unique nature as a person. For a guy who was supposedly at the peak of his spiritual game, he certainly failed to see the spiritual implications of defining "soul".
  16. Creeping up on forty????
  17. I think a lot of us stayed because we thought we were contributing to a worthy cause. Tolerating craziness was just part of the sacrifice we thought we needed to make. It was about seeing the organization/cause as being bigger and more important than any one individual. Then, there was the idea that it was the leader's responsibility to make the right decision but our responsibility was to comply. Many times I heard it said that, even if a leader made a bad choice, God would cover us by virtue of our obedience. The same logic was used to squelch any disagreement with inappropriate spending. And, there was the concept that the "leader" might be acting on revelation so it was imperative to follow orders. I know it all sounds wacky now in retrospect, but maybe that will help explain the reasoning for what we did. As to meeting in homes: It's my understanding of history that the first century church met in homes and small gatherings, not because they wanted to, but because they had to in order to avoid persecution from the Romans. Fellow Laborers was supposed to be an active exercise in living a lifestyle that paralleled the first century church. To those of us who partook of that experiment, I think it became increasingly more and more obvious that our lifestyle bore very little resemblance to life in the first century church. That realization was disheartening, to say the least. There were many mixed signals being given.
  18. They wouldn't even foot the bill for "refreshments" at PLAF (The Wonder Class). What does that tell you?
  19. I've Got The World on a String.
  20. I guess they must have missed the "revelation" that you can accomplish the same thing with rock salt. I worked in an amusement park when I was a kid. That's how we kept the railroad track free and clear. Works like a charm.
  21. Houses of The "Holey"
  22. Tossing this in for consideration. John, too, is a veteran of the cult scene, having been an active participant of TM. Does that make a difference? I don't know. Something to think about, though.
  23. In my opinion, this is a critical observation. When I took *PLAF* (The Wonder Class) in--1972?, the concept du jour was that we now had knowledge of "The Mystery", which is "Christ in you, the hope of glowwree!"---- ie:Christ was present anywhere you were present. This was supposedly such privileged information that the adversary would have never allowed Jesus to be crucified if he had known it. (Session #5 seems like the place this was stressed.) The idea was that "the adversary" was hell bent on keeping the mystery from being known by any more people. So, if you left The Way, which represented the epicenter of all that spiritually mattered, (cough) the adversary would try anything to get you to forget about the mystery or from divulging it to others.--- anything up to and including death. Now what would you give for it? But wait!! There's more!! By simply remaining yoked together with "like minded believers", God was able to generate a magical force field around you and your loved ones, which was known to TWI-sters as "the hedge of protection". Walking away from those who held this common knowledge, ("the one true household"), was equivalent to tightrope walking without a net. And don't forget, SIT was a major part of it, too, because VeePeePee taught in the Advanced Class that revelation was only available to those who spoke in tongues much on a daily basis. And, of course, revelation was an absolute necessity if one were to outwit "the old bird". Vp even said it was a "prerequisite". (That is #3 in the Keys To Walking By The Spirit chart that appears on page 10 of the AC silly-bus. (1971) My point is that it the whole concept became rather convoluted. Eventually it was simplified into the belief that leaving TWI could result in death. I never bought into that particular variation of the concept. *PLAF* = Puke, Loogey And Flatulence
