The problem with this is that the guy was never a "MOG" to begin with. He was just an arrogant dillweed who happened to hold the reins of a very lucrative MLM organization. He was just pizzed off because he was losing the status he thought he deserved. I guess he thought that playing the sympathy card would help him retain the loyalty of his devotees. And, apparently he was right about that. "Oh, poor me, I gave my eye for my keeeeeeeds." (cough, hack, wheeze)

Absolutely! But the bigger question is, in my opinion, what effect does that "wooden spoon" type bullying have on the bullying you encounter now?

In 1976, the Fellow Laborers of Ohio were rousted in the middle of the night for an emergency meeting. (I'm not the only GSC poster who was in that meeting.) The mood of the meeting was intensely dark and demoralizing. We were told that "the ministry" was going down the tubes and Word Over The World was in jeopardy because of--------US! Yep. It was all our fault. See, we were in "the birthplace of the ministry" and our believing was dragging the whole thing down the crapper. None of us had any idea what we could have possibly done to have these charges leveled against us. It was never explained. It was all a downward spiral for us FLO from that point on. We were constantly badgered about our "lack of believing" for the rest of that year. Years later, after looking around greasespot a bit, I discovered that, lo and behold, this same scenario had been played out in the corps at the same point in time. We were played. This whole thing was preconceived and staged. It was nothing more than theatrics, designed to gain control of us. Sorry, I just can't buy this whole "broken heart" nonsense now that I understand what was REALLY going on.

When I "got in the word" in 1972, people were already calling him "Uncle Harry". I always felt kinda weird calling him that because he bore absolutely no resemblance to any of MY uncles. I think it was all part of the "schtick", like the used car salesman who calls himself some name that plays on familiarity. BR 549

Organization The FCC is directed by five Commissioners appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate for 5-year terms, except when filling an unexpired term. The President designates one of the Commissioners to serve as Chairperson. Only three Commissioners may be members of the same political party. None of them can have a financial interest in any Commission-related business. As the chief executive officer of the Commission, the Chairman delegates management and administrative responsibility to the Managing Director. The Commissioners supervise all FCC activities, delegating responsibilities to staff units and Bureaus (see previous post for citation)

No. It means "the leader" or "the commander". The Father is Der Vater.

Oh, we were taught to goose step, alright----only it was mental not physical

He wasn't MY uncle! When did people start calling him "Uncle Harry"? ----------AND------------------------- When did it become acceptable for an "uncle" to greet his "nieces" with a French kiss or fondle their breasts?

The abortion issue is like one of those handy-dandy screwdrivers that can do 16 different jobs. When people get close enough to a particular issue to begin to understand it, simply bring out the trusty 16AS tool and dissemble it (the issue) beyond the point of recognition.

How can you offend someone who states point blank they only came here out of boredom?

There have been several threads that have discussed this issue. One, specifically, deals with the dilemma his death from cancer presents. I'm not very skilled in doing searches but here is the essence of the dilemma: FIRST Wierwille taught, in the AC, that cancer is caused by devil spirits. More bluntly, that if you have cancer, you are possessed. Though he softened that message a bit in his delivery. Now the dilemma If Wierwille was correct, it means we were following a man who was devil possessed. If Wierwille was wrong, it destroys his credibility regarding spiritual matters. It means he could have been wrong about anything and everything. Either way, it's a losing situation. edit: Check THIS out. And THIS

Certainly a whole lot of food for thought here.

Welcome aboard, kaptain k. That nagging feeling that, somehow, "it must of been your own fault"----------It's so liberating to finally realize the whole thing was a sham----It wasn't your fault at all. Care for a spot on the house?

Did this foray relieve your "boredom"?

Yes, it sounds remarkably like Wierwille stitched together bits and pieces of things he encountered in the writings of Eli Stanley Jones, who spent many years in India. Even Wierwille's concept of the "Advance" is curiously similar to the Ashrams that Jones fashioned after the better known Hindi model. Here is an interesting link to some information on E. S. Jones that contains a noteworthy podcast. Listen and see if you spot any similarities to content and style, with a special emphasis being placed on sessions 11 and 12 of PFAL. http://www.asbury.edu/archives/bios/e-stanley-jones Oops! I meant this link: http://methodistthinker.com/2009/05/04/podcast-dr-e-stanley-jones-on-the-gift-of-the-holy-spirit/

While it was not in the PFAL class, Wierwille often boasted that he invented the "hook shot". ************************************** Goose Tatum From Hoopedia Jump to: navigation, search Reece "Goose" Tatum (May 31, 1921 – January 18, 1967) was an African American multi-sport athlete. Born in El Dorado, Arkansas, Tatum played Negro League Baseball before becoming a star basketball player with the Harlem Globetrotters. He is considered to be the original "clown prince" of the Trotters. He wove numerous comic routines into his play, of which many would reach cult status. Some of these routines were based on his stature -- it is reported that he had an arm span of about 84 inches and could touch his kneecaps without bending. He is credited with having invented the hook shot, sometimes called the skyhook, a shot for which superstar Kareem Abdul-Jabbar would become famous. http://hoopedia.nba.com/index.php?title=Goose_Tatum

I don't personally remember getting "bullied" in TWI. Manipulated?----You bet! Exploited?------Ditto! On second thought, I guess you could say some of the abuse that was dished out in Fellow Laborers was bullying. I don't respond very favorably when people try to push me around like that now. But then they usually shift gears and go into the manipulation mode, maybe even try the guilt angle. I'm a little softer touch with that stuff---sigh

Does this make sense? ************************* PFAL--page 30,31 "At the next stop a man came to our compartment in the train saying that he was representing his master who wanted to come and meet the man of God. He said his master was so-and-so, a member of Parliament in New Delhi, who was also riding on the train. The member of Parliament then came to our compartment to tell Mrs. Wierwille and me that what he had seen in *Jubbulpore was the most tremendous Christian event he had ever witnessed-that a man of God would bless all God's people irrespective of whether they were Christian or Hindi. He offered us the keys to his city and said that any time we wanted to minister in India, the doors of India and the Far East would be open to us to teach the accuracy and the greatness of God's Word." ************************* Wierwille finds himself in a part of the world that is decidedly non-Christian and heals a man in an event that couldn't possibly have been witnessed by more than a handful of people in the close proximity. Then, news of the event spreads so quickly, in an era when the flow of information was decidedly slow, that a member of Parliament in New Delhi gave him the coveted key to his city. *New Delhi is the 8th largest city in the world, with a population of about 12,000,000. (Just a tad larger than New Knockwurst) *New Delhi *Jabalpur had a population of about 1,120,000 in 2001. The population of *Allahabad, the city whose newspaper supposedly covered the key to the city event, is 1,215,348! (2008) *Allahabad ************************ Several other things stand out in my mind. 1. Wierwille seemed to offer no objection to being addressed as a man of God. 2. He offered no objection to non-Christians being refered to as "God's people", a direct contradiction of his PFAL lessons. 3. The name of Mr.So-and-So, the member of Parliament, is conspicuously omitted. 4. The man supposedly gave Wierwille the authority to teach anywhere in the entirety of India and The Far East, as if one member of Parliament has that much singular authority. 5. The man didn't marvel at the healing, he marveled that "a man of God would bless all God's people, irrespective of whether they were Christian or Hindi." In other words, he marveled at-----Wierwille.

How ironic! It might be interesting to examine this more closely in a separate discussion.

Wadda ya mean BECOME God?

Perhaps. But TESLA, the true inventor of the radio, would have faced less opposition.

Actual error: Page 6, PFAL "A fountain has an unlimited supply of water." Most fountains I have seen simply recycle the same supply of water. Even a natural fountain is limited by the aquifer which supplies it. Simply stated, a fountain is limited by the source that supplies it. Perhaps the meaning has something to do with purity or refreshing qualities or something else. I don't know. I find it hard to accept, though, that the meaning is focused on limitlessness since that is one quality that a fountain does not possess. Why would God compare himself to something that is limited in order to express His limitlessness? This is simply private interpretation on VPW's part. Not knowing the true meaning of the scripture that contains the fountain reference, Wierwille assigned an erroneous meaning to it in order to suit his agenda.
