  1. I hope a part of what it's "telling you" is that you're dealing with people who've earned a right to be skeptical and wary.
  2. The cool thing about GSC is that it's a two way street. You might post something you think will help someone and find out that the "someone" is yourself.
  3. But wait! There's more! You also get------
  4. I'm about to give you all my money. All I'm asking in return, honey Is to give me my propers when you get back home.
  5. I'd settle for a slice of peach pie with a scoop of chocolate ice cream.
  6. Of course he did. He had books in his personal library that would attest to that. edit: OOPS! I almost forgot. According to his testimony in PFAL, he hauled them all to the city dump and studied nothing but the Bible. <_<
  7. You know, the "secret initiation into the inner sanctum" that took place at the Advanced Class (72-73) may have been meant as a joke, I don't know. We took a "sacred vow" to never tell anyone about it. Certainly, I don't think that anyone present took it to be completely serious. But the thing is, in later years, when people would talk about some sort of "inner circle" and a "lockbox", it was easy to dismiss it as a misunderstanding of that incident.
  8. Itchycoo Park-----Small Faces Man oh man! What a voice Steve Marriott had!
  9. Didn't someone once comment that they had seen some Crowley materials in VP's personal library? I could be mistaken.
  10. Thanks, mstar1 She certainly hit the proverbial nail squarely on the head in addressing issues that have been discussed here on multiple threads. It (viewing the video) was a half hour that was very well spent.
  11. Geeze, people! Where's your sense of gratitude? After all, Dr. V.PeePee gave his very own eyeball so's youze guys could have PLAF (The Wonder Class) The least you could do is pass on the favor by running more classes. ungrateful little snits!
  12. I (physically) left TWI in 1990. I don't think I really ventured too far away from it mentally, though, until I stumbled into GSC, looking for a copy of PFAL.
  13. As Ed McMahon (or his imitators) would have said,
  14. Oh, you mean the ones that say alcoholism, sexual predation and cancer are caused by devil spirits? That's in the Advanced Class. I can't recall the exact page off the top of my head. Did you know, at the time, that Wierwille was a hard core alcohol abuser, that he raped Way Corps and staff women or that he, as well as his brother, Harry and son, Don, died from cancer? Read here: http://www.greasespotcafe.com/main2/waydale/waydale-editorials/v.p.-wierwilles-cancer-and-the-doctrinal-dilemma-that-his-illness-presented.....html By the way, you know he wasn't a "Doctor", right?
  15. I never heard of the paper until I read about it here on GSC.
  16. Nobody stopped to hear him Though he played so sweet and high They knew he had never Been on their T.V. So they passed his music by I meant to go over and ask for a song Maybe put on a harmony I heard his refrain As the signal changed He was playing real good for free Playing like a fallen angel Playing like a rising star Playing for a hat full of nothing to the honking of the cars
  17. You made some really great points, Frank. They had all kinds of behavior-control devices in that Way toolbox. Guilt was the one that got the most use. Fear placed a close second. Yeah, I remember how Wierwille used to claim he could get by on 2 or 3 hours of sleep a night because he spoke in tongues so much. I suppose repeating the same one or two phrases that he had memorized, for the other 20 hours must be what drove him crazy.......Lo shanta la maka see tay.......Lo shanta la maka see tay......Lo shanta la maka see tay.....Lo shanta la maka see tay...... Phew! That's enough to drive a man to drink .
  18. In the news today. "The First National Bank of Hoopyville Hts. was robbed at gunpoint today. They should have known better than to keep all that money in one place."
  19. This ain't like the Hotel California. You are free to come and go as you choose.
  20. Yes, always blame the victim. It's such as handy, dandy way of excusing the perpetrator.
  21. I have wondered the same thing myself. His behavior certainly fits the profile.
  22. Wow! You're a researcher? I had no idea. What sort of experiences are in your curriculum vitae?
