Thomas I wasn't commenting on the doctrinal veracity of his comment so much as I was pointing out that it contradicted his basic premise that "Jesus Christ Is Not God", which is a cornerstone of much of what he taught.

Don't forget, this is a guy who claimed he could just "reach up in Daddy's cookie jar" and God would tell him someone's spiritual orientation...black hearts and white hearts....just like that....but he couldn't ask why the lights were so irritating?????...not buying it... the guy was a fraud.

Technical blunders aside, consider the problems encountered with the script, such as when Wierwille meant to say "It sits there like a diamond" but, instead, said, "It sits there like a duck". As class instructors, we were coached to create a diversion in the room at this moment in the film so no one would notice. If you never noticed it, I have to surmise we were successful. In addition, there is the moment in one of the sessions when Wierwille, speaking of The Second Coming, in a decidedly anti-Trinity class, says that "When Christ returns, He'll be coming back as Lord God Almighty". On this point, we were coached to tell the students that Wierwille had at one time been a Trinitarian and that it was simply a slip of the tongue. We learned to cover for the old geezer rather early in our tenures.

It was a scam...plain and simple...including the schtick about how "I gave my eye for you kids!"....Boo hoo.

It' sad, really, to think they actually believe they have any relevance in the real world, outside of Cornfield Hts. edit: grammar correction.

This was taught in the Christian Family and Sex class, to the general populace of Way followers. So, with that in mind, I'm sure there are many marriages in The Way that fit this criteria. "Any two believers can make a marriage work."......didn't seem to work very well for Mrs. and VPW, now did it?

If Wierdwilly could speak from the grave, he would probably claim he wrote THIS, too.

I think it ALL means "something". I'm just not sure WHAT. edit: I think we're better off NOT knowing that we know that we know that we know and so on.

Warning!! Do not click the following link if "going off-topic" bothers you. Throwing It All Away.

"He's smokin' like a chimney." hahahahaha

The important thing here is to throw it away (or keep it) because that's what YOU want to do, not because you feel pressured to do what Harry (he wasn't MY uncle) Wierwille might have wanted.

In a strange kind of way, it actually helps me to look at old materials, like the Advanced Class Silly-Bus, and marvel at how ludicrous the whole thing was. I chuckle when I think about how seriously I took the whole, bizarre experience. It's a bit like an old, embarrassing photo from jr. high school that reminds me of how far I've traveled in my journey and how glad I am to be where I am today..

*off topic* SEED boys. This is one topic that helped our exit. IF the devil can only copy what God has done, then, how in the world could there be SEED boys in the OT? Seed (Holy Spirit) not available until Pentecost. Now you can say that Adam and Eve originally had spirit. But then, the devil got to produce all these progeny while GOD ALMIGHTY had to wait thousands of years to produce his awaiting man's redemption? (new thread?) ----------------------------------------------- Now, see, there you go again, trying to use logic to explain Way Doctrine. Did you miss that session on Eve's fall from grace or something?

I wish you kids could have seen it in the original. The literal translation, according to usage was....."I was I'd been a man. I think I could have been."

Maybe this is where Cyndi Lauper got the idea for that song...."Squirrels Just Wanna Have Fun". Re: bass amp Sounds quite......mmmmm....tubular.

Wierwille was the Ron Popeil of the religious world. TWI was Ronco. (PFAL was The Pocket Fisherman.) Now what would you pay for it? But, wait! There's more! You also get "Lo Shanta", "You're my keeds." and "Dat's Riiiiiight!". Call now. WOW Ambassadors are standing by.

I concur, skyrider. By the mid 1970s, the FellowLaborers were already being directed to confine their studies and teachings to the core materials of PLAF (The Wonder Class). Anything that might cast suspicion on the integrity of "the class" was relegated to a nearly taboo level. Wierwille already knew his "teachings" didn't hold water and they couldn't withstand close scrutiny in the light of day. edit: In fact, in about 1976, we spent a whole month or so presenting teachings, in our nightly twigs, using nothing but "The Blue Book"...... with no extraneous supplementation permitted. (Just what we needed at 11PM )
