I wish you kids could have seen it in the original. The literal translation, according to usage was....."I was I'd been a man. I think I could have been."

Maybe this is where Cyndi Lauper got the idea for that song...."Squirrels Just Wanna Have Fun". Re: bass amp Sounds quite......mmmmm....tubular.

Wierwille was the Ron Popeil of the religious world. TWI was Ronco. (PFAL was The Pocket Fisherman.) Now what would you pay for it? But, wait! There's more! You also get "Lo Shanta", "You're my keeds." and "Dat's Riiiiiight!". Call now. WOW Ambassadors are standing by.

I concur, skyrider. By the mid 1970s, the FellowLaborers were already being directed to confine their studies and teachings to the core materials of PLAF (The Wonder Class). Anything that might cast suspicion on the integrity of "the class" was relegated to a nearly taboo level. Wierwille already knew his "teachings" didn't hold water and they couldn't withstand close scrutiny in the light of day. edit: In fact, in about 1976, we spent a whole month or so presenting teachings, in our nightly twigs, using nothing but "The Blue Book"...... with no extraneous supplementation permitted. (Just what we needed at 11PM )

Ya know...I think we've debunked this eye thing several times here on GSC. But, suppose for a moment it were true...Where was the revelation that was supposed to warn him about safe levels?....Why couldn't he use the "law" of believing to turn the situation around?...The guy was a big phoney....He rode the gravy train and we bought him the ticket.

"I gave my eye for you kids."

Strip away all the religious trappings and what you will discover is that W.O.W. and W.D. are nothing more than an unpaid sales force.

What makes you think you aren't already? My mom, 'the world's greatest twig leader', used to say that "God loves you for what you are now, not for what you used to be in the past or what you will be in the future". I sure do miss you, Mom. :(

Another spin on this is found in PFAL (session 5?).... Geeze, it was 40 years ago, cut me some slack! LOL This is the whole schtick that Wierdwille does on how, when He comes back, "He won't be coming back as the one who was spit on, beaten and humiliated, He'll be coming back as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He'll be coming back as Lord God Almighty!"...(Yes, there were Trinitarian references in PFAL.) Anyhow, this explains, to the neophite, why you are supposed to pray in the name of the victorious Christ, not the name of the humiliated Jesus. Then, as you move on to the more so-called "advanced" teaching, the devil spirit aspect is introduced. In fact, it (the devil spirit aspect) receives a great deal of focus in the Advanced Class.

Is that the inverse corollary to "I'd be dead if not for da ministry..."??

I'm willing to be last......last in line to ever revisit that muddy cornfield in Podunk, USA.

Goodbye, Butter. It hasn't been the same since you left us on this day in 1987.

Charging for Classes
waysider replied to OldSkool's topic in Spirit and Truth Fellowship International
If you tell a lie enough times, you start to believe it's true. -
Is there a scriptural basis for this cliche or is it just another "Well, Dr. said....."?

You could always do what VPW did....start an MLM and drown any remorse in free flowing booze. (But I don't recommend it.)

Maybe The Rolling Stones had it right all along.

The whole concept of DFAC is absurd. How can you graduate from something, only to have someone later nullify your accomplishment? Defrock..yes Disbar..yes Revoke a medical/professional license..yes Strip you of privileges to practice..yes But, pretend (in essence) that you never really graduated????...ludicrous.

"Pardon me, Sir. Have you any grey poop-on?"

Eve stopped to "consider" what the serpent said.....and just look at the consequences that befell her. (session #7/PFAL)
