When I was a wee lad, I used to take clothes pins and fasten baseball cards to my bicycle wheel. When the spokes passed over the cards, it sounded a bit like a motorbike. When you're 5 or 6 years old, you think someone may actually think you're riding a motorbike. The Way reminds me of a little kid, repeatedly fastening old cards to their spokes, hoping someone will believe their deception.

From linked article: "It was amazing to me that for 500 years, people didn't sense the errors," said Cohen, who wears a knitted skullcap and a gray goatee. "They just assumed that everything was fine, but in practice everything was not fine." Ignore the 500 year time frame and you could just as well be talking about how offshoots revere the PFAL class series.

I missed my 10th,20th,30th and 40th. Will there be a 50th? I don't know. I'll probably miss that one, too. Besides, most of the guys I would have liked to see again never made it back from Nam in one piece. I'm glad you had a good time, though. I really mean that. edit: I'm not sure why I posted this. I don't spend much time thinking about it. Probably because it usually leaves me feeling a bit melancholy.

We mustn't consider. VP said so in session seven. Eve tried it once and look what happened to her!

Chronology And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken? When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass , that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken , but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him. .................................................. I don't know Greek or any of that sort of thing but, it appears to me, this is speaking in a present tense, here and now sort of vain, not in a futuristic manner. I mean, how are you going to be afraid (or not) of something that's centuries away? This is why I find it pointless to rationalize what I see as contradictions. When I was 8 years old, my father told me not to climb the big tree in the schoolyard because I could fall and get hurt. I climbed it anyway, fell and broke my arm. I think he meant to not climb it then, when I was 8 years old, not 20 or 30 years later. After I got the cast off, I went and did something else stupid that he had warned me about and broke the other arm. Maybe I got a double dose of prophesy.

That sounds a bit like superstition.

....ins Schwarze treffen = hit the mark How did he get Tick out of that?? (Triff, I can kinda see.... but Tick?...not so much.) I think he probably should have settled on a Dachshund and named it "Li'l Wiener".

What I'd like to know is why Mrs. W.'s white poodle was named Coco.
-
I heard he was originally going to name the dog Dick but, he was afraid he'd never be able to control it.

AKC registered dogs are assigned names by their breeder. I don't know if Wierwille, himself, was the breeder or if Tick ever sired a litter. Those are two factors that would affect naming and renaming. There is a protocol that must be followed and a fee that is assessed when a name change takes place. Wierwille wasn't too keen on following other people's protocol or paying fees but, I don't know if that had anything to do with it.

I often wonder why some people who "don't give a ...." seem to have so much to say. -
Ya know, when I saw the title of this thread, I thought maybe it was about one of Jerry Garcia's early bands...Toke-It.

I wish VP was still around. I'd ask him how to do that burning snow trick. That would be awesome!

"I've been kind of a wise guy here, earlier, sorry, I don't mean to bend anybody out of shape." Well, it's all about "the bend". Gives it that special flavah. Ya know what I'm sayin'?

Foolhardy..... I remember being on a construction site, tapping into a sanitary sewer main. We excavated 17-18 feet down before bad weather set in. We didn't get back to the hole for another two weeks. By that time, it had snowed, thawed, snowed, thawed, blah, blah. The ground was soft and beginning to cave in. There was no shoring. Hey, who needs shoring when you've got SIT and the law of believing on your side? Besides, wouldn't God give revelation if something really bad is about to happen? Well, nothing happened....until the next day when the hole started to collapse. I did lot's of stuff like that, thinking I had some kind of magic powers surrounding me. :asdf: (Beating your head against the wall is painful but, oh, how good it feels when you finally stop.)

"....... one more point. A guy who currently runs an offshoot wrote a research paper as a member of the research department which you can find on this site. it basically is a fundamental word study on the word "adultery" throughout the Bible - not rocket science by any means. He was fired for presenting this research by Wierwille." HERE it is. -

Jeffrey Dahmer didn't eat everyone he met. Does that means he wasn't a cannibal? ............................................. You want names and specifics? You apparently ignored my suggestion to read Losing The Way. (It appears you may be a bit new to computer usage. So, what you need to do is click on the book title I colored blue.) ............................................... "...he did say that maybe VP had some sex back in the free love of the 70's before he became a minister." Wierwille became a minister in the 1940's. What does that suggest to you? ........................... BTW...This isn't a court of law. No one has to "prove" anything to you. You can simply choose not to believe. That's your prerogative. -
Geeze, I thought they derived the name from a fondness for passing off solos. (They were originally called Takit Away!) :B)

Thanks, WW, I didn't know about that. (Or maybe I just forgot.)

Well, this thread has evolved (Don't they all?) into something that would be better suited for the About The Way forum. Soooo...It may take interested parties a while to see this here and respond. In the meantime, perhaps you would care for some reading materials? HEREand HERE
