Oh, my. He must have been torn with inner conflict as he sat through session 8, the session on sonship rights (righteousness included). Someone of lesser spiritual understanding might construe this to be a contradiction in Way Theology.

Didn't the Vicenheimer teach, in PFAL, that there are no degrees of sin? Oh, hold on a sec., this is "evil", not "sin". What was I thinking? I almost thought he had forgotten The Holy Word of Vic.

Wake Up and Smell the Counterfeits

"....the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion" The Treaty of Tripoli (1796) Now be it known, That I John Adams, President of the United States of America, having seen and considered the said Treaty do, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, accept, ratify, and confirm the same, and every clause and article thereof. And to the End that the said Treaty may be observed, and performed with good Faith on the part of the United States, I have ordered the premises to be made public; And I do hereby enjoin and require all persons bearing office civil or military within the United States, and all other citizens or inhabitants thereof, faithfully to observe and fulfill the said Treaty and every clause and article thereof. ...................................................................... Official records show that after President John Adams sent the treaty to the Senate for ratification in May 1797, the entire treaty was read aloud on the Senate floor, and copies were printed for every Senator. A committee considered the treaty and recommended ratification. Twenty-three of the thirty-two sitting Senators were present for the June 7 vote which unanimously approved the ratification recommendation. SOURCE -
Wouldn't you need masses of people to have mass weddings? I'm just askin'.

There comes a point when hope turns into delusion. The Way reached that point long, long ago.

Yes, I recall one of those events....1973, perhaps? Wierwille stood on stage, behind the podium, blathering into the microphone the whole time, while everyone else was "in the trenches", so to speak. Looking back, it reminds me of session 12 of PLAF (The Wonder Class).

Waiting for the next leader......they might as well be Waiting For Godot.

It looks more noble than selling pet rocks.

BTW....For those who may not be familiar with the term High German, it simply refers to the geographic areas where it is commonly spoken. (high elevations) It's not superior to Low German, it's just different.

PFAL...Pg. 30 ...."He said his master was so-and-so, a member of Parliament in New Delhi, who was also riding on the train. The member of Parliament then came to our compartment to tell Mrs. Wierwille and me that what he had seen in Jubbulpore was the most tremendous Christian event he had ever witnessed...." .................................................. He had supposedly just experienced a life altering event but, he doesn't remember this man's name and has to refer to him as "so-and-so/the member of Parliament"??

I'm going by memory but, my recollection is that he said he heard someone else speak in High German and recognized it. edit: Gee, imagine someone from western Ohio speaking in High German. What are the chances of that? <_<

Pg. 197 "...a piece of mail came regarding a Full Gospel Rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Oh, all the great names were going to be there, including a would-be-rising star in Pentecostalism - Oral Roberts." ............. .............. "I met someone, told him my need, and he got all excited. He said he'd introduce me to some great men. They'd lay hands on me and lead me into tongues." "So before the meeting they got together, nine great men, in one room. They started praying, then three or four laid hands on me, and finally one of them said, 'Speak another language.' So I spoke Greek. I quoted the first chapter of John. Well, they started jumping up and down. They thought I had received and told me to speak in another language." "So I did. I spoke in Hebrew - quoted from Genesis, and they got all excited, congratulating themselves about it." "But in my heart, I knew I wasn't speaking in tongues...." ...................................................... ...................................................... "So I spoke in Greek. I quoted the first chapter of John" Can you imagine Wierwille ever knowing enough Greek to quote the first chapter of John?...... extemporaneously??

Hey, O.E. You're right, I'm not in your shoes. I think I may have gotten mine at the same store, though.

How does a country preacher from Cornfield County, Ohio suddenly develop a fascination for a culture on the other side of the world that is so disparate to his own?

PFAL = Pay For Absconded Lessons. -
From linked thread: p. 172.....Mrs. Wierwille's book Born Again to Serve "Dr. Wierwille had designated Dr. Williams as the general overseer of The Way of India, with its headquarters in Bombay, as had been voted at the convention held on February 9 and 10 [1956]. Branches for each state of India were to be established as soon as possible, all under and by the independent national Christians without a foreign system of control. Mr. James John was to be secretary for The Way of India." ........................................................... But...but...but....The guy was opposed to proselytizing! Here's what he said: "I dislike proselytization in any form." ......................................................... I guess there really was a dilemma. How can you establish branches if you are against witnessing?

The PFAL class, itself, was stolen (yes, I said stolen.) from B.G. Leonard and later expanded with works from people such as Bullinger, Stiles, Kenyon and so on. Where does that leave us if the root source (PFAL) was corrupted to begin with? -
Excerpts: "None of the ecclesiastical dignitaries such as Bishops or Archbishops receive any salary. They all do honorary work." "We have preachers but not paid ones. They have their independent means of livelihood." "I dislike proselytization in any form." ............................................................................. Apparently, he and Wierwille were miles apart on these issues.
-
I have to wonder if Wierwille was maybe playing one of his shell games, hoping that people would confuse Rev. I. S. Williams with THIS person. I realize the chronology is a bit off but, that never stopped VP on many other points. ALSO

...and here's the kicker....Mrs. W.'s book was the sanitized version....So, even the sanitized version can't stand up to scrutiny.

I try to stay out of the fray. Sometimes, though, even innocuous statements are misconstrued and turned into something political by the other person. This happens with religious issues, as well....make a simple statement and, all of a sudden you're blasted with a teaching from The Blue Book. It reminds me of how we were taught in W&U to always be looking for "the open door". I've never un-friended anyone but, I know I've been un-friended because of statements that didn't agree with TWI doctrine. It's too bad we can't get past all that. What good is discussion if only one point of view is acceptable?

Sometimes the frontage direction of a structure will affect the property taxes but, with TWI being a 501c, I don't see how that would apply.
