  1. I will agree that VPW assented to a man of God status for himself, and even an ambassador for Christ; but won't agree that he assented to a Christ-like or Messiah-like or Saviour-like status for himself. I believe such comparisons while fancifully surmised are intellectually dishonest and fraudulent and not representative of the history of twi.
  2. What is creepy is getting reproof harangue from the queen of finger-pointers.
  3. Lindyhopper, You have applied a false accusation and misrepresented my position... I never said this person stole anything. For all I know, he bought it from someone else who bought it from someone else. What I am saying is these tapes never were meant to be sold or given to private parties and most likely left twi's hands under less than legal circumstances. Could qualify as stolen merchandise. As such, like them or not, they are twi's property and twi does have some rights if they wish to pursue them. Yes, I will defend the way when they are stolen from just like I'll defend anyone else who gets stolen from because theft is wrong. Their past sins are not an excuse ... all theft is still wrong, period. You may hate twi all you desire, but their bad behavior does not justify additional bad behavior.
  4. DWBH, I called them (the trunk office) and asked what their position on this was, and they told me. Their position is, it is their property. I agree ... because from what I know (and you know this is true, being in that position), twi always was the property owner of the tapes and the class was never meant to be sold individually to anyone. So I can be called names but to me, what is right is right and what is wrong is wrong. Because they did wrong doesn't justify another wrongdoing to them. Bad behavior doesn't justify more bad behavior.
  5. I'm willing to bet that my former twig coordinators have virtually the same practical lifestyle as they did in twi. i.e., they hold fellowship meetings once a week. The other days of the week, they live their own lives, what they choose to do. They go to special classes once in a while, ones they choose and have committed themselves to. They may witness more, who knows? I don't know what differences there would be from twi on a practical level, i.e., they are Mr. & Mrs. American who love God and run a fellowship once a week.
  6. I fully agree. In fact, I think they should put all the sessions on the net in full color, for everyone to see, free of charge. :o :D
  7. I don't think Vince ever portrayed himself as a Christ-like or Messiah-like figure, and neither did VPW for that matter. The folks feel comfortable with and stand with Vince. They are entitled.. this is America. I wish them well ... and see no problem with their association other than their new doctrine on salvation.
  8. Yes I see that... I didn't make sense with that statement ... the point I was trying to make was that these are "essentially" bootlegs in the sense that they can't legally be sold because they are the property of twi. I do agree with Potato in the sense that I think twi has the burden to prove that this particular set being sold on ebay belongs to them. How can they show it to ebay? There are probably ways, but do they want to go through all that hassle? I find it very interesting and maybe they will just let it go, but who knows?
  9. Potato, to my knowledge, what the guy is selling is the legal property of twi. It is their property. As always I could be wrong, but right now, I am deferring to what I know and the opinions of WhiteDove, Oakspear and Rum Runner. It would be interesting if the item stays on ebay until April 12 and/or he does finally get to sell it. Maybe that'd be proof of sorts that what you are saying is more valid.
  10. The overview says that it does not include renting or leasing. Isn't that essentially what twi did with PFAL, rented or leased it out? It always belonged to them however. Unless they (the twi hq or trustees) sold or distributed a particular copy to someone, then that would give someone the right to re-sell or re-distribute under our system.
  11. I get what they are saying, but it seems they are referring to items that were once legally sold and became someone else's property. Here, we are talking about PFAL, an item that always was owned by twi. They never sold it to anyone, as far as we know. Therefore, it is still their property.
  12. Yes, but because twi owns the copyright, copies are essentially bootlegs in the sense that people cannot legally sell them, unless they have permission from the one with the copyright, to sell. Therefore, in order for this guy to legally sell a bona fide copy of PFAL on ebay, he has to have written permission from twi. Do you agree or disagree with that?
  13. Potato, you may be technically correct, but the person I spoke to at hq said that copies cannot be sold legally. All copies are essentially illegals, bootlegs. Unless of course, twi gives its permission to this guy. I would call the guy up and ask, but golly, I already called the source. Maybe you can call the guy and ask for his written contract from TWI? :)
  14. I just got off the phone with HQ, the Way of the USA (trunk office)... they said that TWI still has the copyright on PFAL both audio & video, so the item the guy is selling is illegal. They asked me for the ebay #, thanked me and said they would take care of it.
  15. Yes I do have the natural peanut butters but try to stay away from any sugar added to them. Also have yogurt every day, but only use the lite yogurts like Colombo and Dannon. I try to stay away from fruit juices because of all the high carbs, but I do use V-8 Vegetable Juice. Yes I agree that eating a limited amount fruit is good ... and too much fruit and you run into the carb issue again. But one apple or one banana for a snack is very good. I also use Crystal Lite drink. I have totally abandoned carbonated soda.. I think a total waste ...
  16. I drink Atkins sometimes too. Can't stand the vanilla, but the chocolate / coffee is pretty good. Can't go wrong with Atkins stuff... man ... he had it right didn't he? High protein / low carb.
  17. Another good product, albeit twice as expensive as the EAS, is Achieve One http://www.achievone.com/ 15 grams protein, very low carb, and tastes good. But costs around $3.00 each ...
  18. Have you tried the Dark Chocolate? It really is good. I don't like vanilla. Strawberry is ok.
  19. Thanks, I'll try the low carb ice cream sometime. I have had sugar free ice pops. I also use the EAS Myoplex low carb shakes. 17g protein, 4g carb, and 110 calories. Excellent. I get them at Walmart and they are only $1.50 each. For additional snacks, I use a product by Kay Naturals called high protein chips and their pretzel sticks. They are only 120 calories per serving, but 10g protein and 10g carb, which is an excellent ratio. High protein/low carb bars are excellent too, but I always look out for high carbs. More than 26g per bar is probably too much. 10-15g is better.
  20. I don't know the first thing about baking but always interested in sugar free goodies. I use 3 items regularly: Canned fruit cocktail sweetened with splenda. Tastycake Sugar Free Finger Cakes (100 calories per cake) Jello Sugar Free Pudding (Dark Chocolate and Cinnamon Rice Pudding), 80 calories. The above items are delicious. If you know of more from the shelves please let me know. Am interested in anything very low carb.
  21. I heard that carbonite.com was a good online backup system. $50.00 per year. I am thinking about giving them a try myself.
  22. Did some poking around on the net and found them, Founded by Vince Finnegan. Back in 1989, the loyalty letter incident apparently began its embryonic founding, after Vince got fired. As far as I can tell, these folks mostly are the New Yorkers who were standing with Vince Finnegan who was standing with Chris Geer who was standing against the trustees at the time. Then at some point, Vince split off from Geer. My former twig coordinators from Poughkeepsie are still with Vince! Man alive. As I read their beliefs, lots of them are the same as twi, with the notable exception that salvation is contingent upon faithfulness ... Maybe I should stop by and say hi? :o :D Statement of Beliefs Vince's Stowray
  23. Actually John Schoenheit's paper works to contradict Dr. Juedes' claim as he expressed it: "The fact that core Way teachings can so easily be used to promote immorality is a good indication that those Way teachings are false, too." "is a good indication that those Way teachings are false, too" is the part of Dr. Juedes' statement that I am disagreeing with. John Schoeneit uses the core twi teaching "seven administrations" to prove from scripture, namely, the church epistles, that adultery and fornication is not permitted in the grace administration. So no, the fact that the seven administrations teaching was misused to promote immorality by some actually is NOT a good indication that that teaching is false, because the teaching also may be used to teach morality in the grace administration, as John Schoenheit did.
  24. Are there actions that Jesus asks people to perform that are not covered in the church epistles? Perhaps that would be something to think about. But on the topic of adultery and fornication, John Schoenheit in his paper proved from the church epistles that adultery and fornication is not permitted, so inferring that twi core teaching (seven administrations) is false because of bad behavior is folly.
