Am I missing something? When and where did TWI comment on "The Passion"?
-
God wants me to prosper... Satan wants me to prosper... I am everybody's pal...
-
Roy, I agree. (there are two sides to everything) actually, it's been said there may even be three sides to everything: your side my side the truth
-
All depends on your point of view in life. Is the world, and God's creation, such a good thing, considering all the evil that happens?
-
Mike, I again read the last chapter of CSBP and it goes into "Why Do Non-Christians Prosper?" In a nutshell, here's what Dr. says: The statement above doesn't apply to me. I consider myself a Christian, not a non-Christian and not wicked. Now according to Dr. Wierwille, if I am a godly man (a Christian I presume), I shouldn't be prospering because Satan does not want me to. Add to that the fact that I am not tithing so that means I REALLY should have my foot on the hose. But none of those things are right and true. I am blessed and thankful for God's blessings, whether I tithe or not. Tithing has nothing to do with it. We've all proven this to ourselves.

Hi Mike, That's exactly one reason why I don't believe Christians Should Be Prosperous was given by revelation...because it doesn't work. Let me say that if someone feels it works for them, such as yourself, I cannot dispute your experience. More power to you. But I haven't seen it work like Dr. Wierwille says it should, an immutible law. The bible says to Prove All Things, and that includes tithing. If it doesn't work for someone, they should eliminate it. Hey, even Dr. Wierwille said if his stuff didn't work for you, "kick it." Do you remember that? I've kicked CSBP out of my life, and even have a little test for someone who may be unsure whether it works or not.

Here we go again According to TWI, one reason why Jesus never touched the cross (other than the biblical verses) was because he was so beaten to a pulp, that he literally had no measurable energy left to pick up and drag a cross. He was so beaten he was unrecognizable as a man. Knowing Jesus got the living crap kicked out of Him, for us, would tend to teach genuine Godly humility and thankfulness, for those who wish to see it.

apparently not...

Hi Mike, I will accept your definition of tithing, although I don't agree with it. I don't think I ever said tithing was unscriptural. All I said was, it doesn't work like an immutable law should, like Dr. Wierwille said it was supposed to work. I tried it -- it doesn't work like he said it was supposed to work. That's why I don't practice it anymore, and haven't for years and years, even in TWI-1. Tithing is NOT the key to material prosperity. Never was, never will be.

Hi Mike, Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, and if you really believe this, that's your option. However, since Dr. Wierwille taught that tithing was something entirely different in CSBP, and you have taught us that we should get back to the original Wierwille writings, well ... do you see the apparent problem ?
-
This is why the false accusation, or assumption, that TWI taught Wierwille took the place of Jesus is bogus and lame. TWI taught "the Word takes the place of the absent Christ". Is Christ absent? spiritually no, but physically yes. So Wierwille must have meant that physically, the Word takes the place of the absent Christ. If it doesn't, if Christ is present, I'd very much like to meet the person who has a personal physical relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. I'd love to have Jesus over for supper. But it doesn't take much of a realization what Wierwille meant when he taught that Christ was absent. He meant physically.

I voted to keep them here....

Mike, that sounds like a plan but some things have come up and I'm completely out of time.
-
Yes, Mike I have. Is there a point you wish to make other than your insulting question that money is my God? Mike I'm all ears. How may one tithe to Jesus Christ himself?
-
Mike, you said: In the context of coming back to PFAL, as you suggested, I responded because CSBP is part of The Original Wierwille PFAL Writings, and I have certainly strayed from that original teaching. I think this is a legitimate and very important question that pertains to all of us if what you say is true that we need to come back to the original PFAL Writings. In my judgment, this shouldn't be kept private either.
-
Mike, when I come back to Christians Should Be Prosperous, who should I tithe to?
-
Zix, could you explain/expound what he means by this statement? How could Christ feel what we feel resulting from the consequences of disobedience, when He never disobeyed God? Perhaps I'm missing something.

VPW: An example of a bad student handling the scriptures deceitfully
oldiesman replied to pjroberge's topic in About The Way
Hi Pat, I'm with you that we should study works of B.G. Leonard, Bullinger, Stiles, Kenyon. BUT they weren't around and didn't reach me when I needed to hear the Word...TWI was. We learned about them through TWI. The real issue is whether or not it's the rightly divided Word and that part that was was a blessing. That part that wasn't, wasn't. Still working on the Heavenly Sperm Bank teaching? -
If you haven't heard the Spongmonkey's opinion on this topic, I think it's worth reviewing: We Like The Moon

The exactness "factor" : a method of cult control
oldiesman replied to pjroberge's topic in About The Way
Wayward, I remember during TWI-1 there were a few folks I knew who's spouses didn't accept TWI. The "believing" spouse went to twig, while the "unbelieving" spouse stayed home. The "unbeliever" was considered "sanctified" and it seemed like as long as the couple had an understanding with each other, it was ok. Seemed to work ok then. I wish these things were that simple. -

I was under the impression that the Way Corps rule was, if one wanted to leave or had to leave, the partner also had to leave? That's why I always found it exceedingly hypocritical why Donna Martindale got to stay at hq when Craig left. -

I agree with you on the marriages part...that's a good point because then you're not just making decisions based upon yourself, but someone else very special... -
Are you referring to your experiences in the Way Corps? The Way Corps people that I was involved with in New York didn't treat me like garbage, like your describing. Again I guess I was involved in a different ministry than you were. Or perhaps different time periods. I have very little experiential knowledge of TWI-2.

This is another point where we disagree, Rascal. I think we could have left anytime we wanted. We did. I think we stayed, because we received benefits and blessings. When things became unacceptable, we left. Individual cases may vary. -
One of the things I never quite understood is why some folks feel that getting folks signed up for PFAL was an evil scam. What's evil about wanting folks to have the same knowledge of the bible you have? We thought PFAL was a great class that would help them, which was why we wanted folks signed up. Folks who didn't think it was a great class, acted differently.
