Wierwille books on eBay - going for HIGH $$$
oldiesman replied to Jeff USAF RET's topic in About The Way
probably twi or ex-twi folks who want to buy an early version of Stiles work. It makes sense, since Dr learned so much from Stiles, to "see it in the original" so to speak. They do have later pressings of Stiles book but the one now on ebay looks like an early pressing... -
Thanks Raf... I think your point is a good one; if it were me, i wouldn't want to entangle myself in this kind of mess... so many other things in life to worry about ...

This one might get hot... An early version of "The Gift of the Holy Spirit" by J.E. Stiles... The Gift of the Holy Spirit -
no, just trying to inject a little humor.i misspelled cloak, should have been "cloke". cloke of covetousness... cloke of maliciousness... are things to get rid of
-
Raf, are you suggesting that Pat has a "cloak" of covetousness?
-
It's a hard thing to give someone your coat when they're suing your pants off.
-
I think the Rosalie and Donna team have a better chance at longer lasting happiness.
-
Pat, I agree with you on that and hope you win. Don't know if you will, but I do see the point how TWI has nerve trying to own the words "The Way". I hope you win on that point. Don't know if this matters any, but many years ago, Panasonic came out with a portable cassette player labelled "Way" . I don't think it was "The Way", but I have to check, I think I've still got it in my drawer. When I saw that, I promptly bought it as a birthday gift for a way corps family member who I thought would get a kick out of it. They gave it back to me a few years ago, and I need to check to see if I still have it.

Was your nametag really indicative of your faithfulness to God?
oldiesman replied to Hills Bro's topic in About The Way
An interesting thought for food is why did we feel it necessary to go beyond PFAL... We learn in PFAL we're God's beloved, we're loaded with all the power of God, sealed with holy spirit, heaven bound, and all hell can't stop us from going... That's not enough? look what happened, we want more than that? Maybe it's because we still weren't satisfied with the goodness of God's food and benefits, and had to feed our own selfish egos with worldly prizes? Advances class, Corps, Ordination = a little worldly recognition? -

John, I agree with your assessment. A lot of that is one's own opinion. If I go get a meal at McDonald's, is McDonald's using me for their own personal financial gain? I guess so, if you look at it that way. But I did receive a delicious Big Mac and fries in return. It was one's own choice to go there, to eat of their food, and if you didn't like it, never to return. -
Sounds to me like she told him cause he put the gold flatware in the wrong place. He must've really screwed that flatware up. I mean, how bad can you be with gold flatware?
-
So then let me get this straight...while Victor Paul was giving it to some young babe, Mrs. Wierwille knew exactly what was going on and on the lookout in the front? Now there's a tale I never thought i'd hear... Geeze, for Mrs. Wierwille to say that, you must've really screwed up her gold flatware. I bet you never did that again.

I think some sins are worse than others, but I still believe TWI's oft-repeated teaching on forgiveness of sins, from I John. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
-
No. The fact that Donna is still at headquarters speaks of HER power, authority and influence, that had been there for years. You're giving Craig too much credit. He's a gonner.
-
Pat, it's been said that Victor Paul's doctorate was unaccredited, but was "experimental" at that time. He did receive a diploma from them, from a ceremony, but it's still unrecognized by the establishment. I don't know if you can do this, but could you possibly find out how many diploma's were given out by Pike's Peak, and what are the disposition of the folks who got diploma's from them? I'd like to know if you could get someone who actually got a diploma from there, who might agree with your assessment? Don't know if that's possible after all this time but it might be worth checking out...

Since Radar has given up, if someone understands the point she's trying to make, and can explain it in modern English, please proceed. -

Radar, I don't see how the greater intensity of cultness encourages higher book values. --> -

Radar, I understand perfectly where you're coming from and wholeheartedly agree that TWI 1 and TWI 2 were vastly different; but what does that have to do with Wierwille books on ebay? -

I would think the "original" Blue Book would have a higher collectible value. Reissues usually go for much less, unless they are extremely limited editions. This one is up to $51.00 already and there's no picture even. Crazy. -
Could VPW- TWI- LCM & BOT be mentioned in Revelation ?
oldiesman replied to ckeer's topic in About The Way
This is where you and I part company. There's no sin of man that Christ hasn't paid for with his blood. I firmly believe that Victor Paul and the BOT, as well as you and I, have our sins forgiven thru Christ. -

Bible Tells Me So What the heck is the Prevailing Word edition and was this ever in shrinkwrap? What kind of a scam is this? -

Ronald Wilson Reagan = 6 6 6 See, he's in the bible too! Victor Paul and the BOT are going to the same place we all are. When you see tham again you can say hi and God Bless. -
Schuks, I've thought about this before, how here at GS, blessings and goodness are more often and most likely attributed to God only, never mind about the good works of Victor Paul and the BOT; but badness and evil works are attributed to Victor Paul and the BOT, and NOT the spiritual source, which is the Devil. Seems like a fair point to keep in mind.

Mo, this concept sounds so interesting... i was recently watching a Bonanza episode and the subject was polygamy...the Cartwrights got involved with this nice Mormon man and his two wives... and they loved each other like sisters...wouldn't do anything to hurt the other. What a foreign concept in today's society, isn't it? Their welfare system sounds pretty decent, and I like the part about them asking folks to give of their time and money (if they physically can) ... I'm sure they try to discourage folks taking and taking all the time without giving back. That seems reasonable. I think that kind of a system could only work where everyone did their part and the folks administering the system are absolutely trustworthy... I was pretty much always against welfare... totally against a governmental welfare system because of the lack of accountability and trustworthiness. Thanks for the info.
