Apparently not. I guess the next question would be, if M&A folks want to buy bookstore materials, how do they get themselves off of M&A status? I'm not phoning them for that ... someone else please. ha!

I guess this thread still has some life left. Oakspear Point well taken. But I guess what bothers me is the perception that rascal's experiences were widespread, from rascal's own posts. If she stated clearly "this is what I thought ... ", then no problem ... but many perceptions from her weren't just talking about her, but suggested those perceptions applied to many others as well. Here are some examples. Rascals own words: I tried to convey what twi's position was on abortion, and partial birth abortion, proving it according to what was written. It's not fair to just dismiss this as "pap." It is interesting to note that Raf asked me to prove what I said, but failed to ask Rascal to prove what she said, where it applied directly to others as well. Did I behave badly on this thread? I don't think so. I don't think anyone is behaving badly when they are politely expressing their own opinion, while simultaneously expressing doubts about other posters' perceptions of how an issue relates to the entire ministry. This is one reason why I think we should look at our posts as opinions, not truth. If someone doesn't believe everything, fine. You shouldn't take offense. Because opinions and perceptions may vary from one poster to another.

Jerry Jacks from the TWI bookstore returned my phone call, and left a message on my machine, which contained the following:

Isn't it interesting that threads with the most arguing, namecalling and fighting usually get the most viewings? Folks love it.
-
Sounds like something Karl Marx would say.

Lifted Up I believe partial birth abortion is the taking of a human life and even borders on infanticide. I quoted from Dave Craley's editorial, and "I think" Craley's view also was twi's predominant view on it. As far as rascal's posts, nothing more to say and don't wish to comment any further. If someone has something more to add on topic I'd be happy to respond, otherwise I think this thread has run its course.

This is strange. I just got off the phone with them, and they said they'd get back to me with the answer. At first, I got the young lady in the bookstore who yesterday told me that the bookstore was open to all. But then today, she put me on hold, and another person answered and asked for my name and location. I gave my name and location, and she put me on hold and then got back on the line and said she'd speak with her boss and someone would get back to me. What is going on? I guess it's still a mystery. I'm going to call them tomorrow again if I don't find out anything today.
-
Really? I'll give them a call again and see what's up.

That's true only if the change were made that there's no pressure, as the bible says in the new testament, not grudgingly or of necessity. Something like what they're doing now in CES. I guess that would be just one "right circumstance" I would expect.

In my case, returning to twi doesn't mean automatic replenishment of their coffers. I'd be happy to check out a local fellowship, even now, but sending ABS money to hq is another thing entirely.

Cherished Child, I didn't ask anything about Martindale's books, but she did say that everything that's in the bookstore is available. Perhaps you can call them and ask. "419-753-2523" I know that by heart, even now after all these years.
-
One big condition would be, there'd have to be a twig less than an hour where I live. Ha. But I think lots of folks would go back under the right circumstances... but the chances of those circumstances happening are very small.
-
Rascal And all this time, what I thought you were complaining about, was being bullied and coerced into getting an abortion when you really didn't want to. So you had the child after all?

The Word takes the place of the absent LCM.

Raf, I have to be honest with you, I think she's exaggerating. I'm not calling her an out and out liar, and it's possible these things were said to her -- but I just don't believe everything she says. Period. It's almost like crying wolf. Rascal has made some extremely highly rhetorical statements here on Greasespot, and I just don't believe it all. Besides, not everyone believes everything I say as well. Right Raf?
-
I asked them if the rumor on the internet was true, that bookstore items are now available to former believers? She said, "where did you hear that from"? I responded "Greasespot Cafe". She said, yes, it's true, the bookstore is now open to former believers ... She didn't ask my name or location, and I told her I was a "former believer". Also, she told me they have everything in stock in the PFAL series, books 1-5, all the collaterals, plus RHST, JCING, JCOP, JCOPS, ATDAN, etc., everything except the PFAL book itself, which is no longer available. Didn't ask when the change came about, I just assumed it was very recent.
-
I just got off the phone with the bookstore, and yes, they told me that all the books and everything else that's available in the bookstore is currently open to the public.

Thanks mj412 for at least suggesting this. My gawd. I think it's a question of priorities more than anything else, for the person making the decision. If a woman who decided to go corps got pregnant, and it wasn't allowed in the corps, she had to decide about her commitment to the corps ... hey its a difficult decision, but if she wanted that baby, she still could have decided to go home and have it. God's still on the throne, even if one chose to break their corps commitment for something else, or go in the corps at a later date when the circumstances permitted it. I get what you're saying. ...
-
Whether it is ok or not is for the individual to decide ... whether or not the individual accepts responsibility for their own actions, or simply lays most or all of the blame on twi leaders. Personally, I've not layed all the blame on twi leaders ... as you well know ... because it seems rather obvious to me that it wasn't all their fault for difficult decisions made. So I guess we always disagree. But I don't think they were aiding and abetting murder, no matter what you think.

Since this is what YOU felt and was YOUR perception of things, then I will accept that as YOUR experience and testimony. But saying those things apply to others as well, goes overboard.Try to look at it this way: You say I've whitewashed and painted a rosey scenario of twi, that doesn't necessarily apply to others. ... ok, I see this as something similar, only the opposite. I see you as painting a exceedingly morbid view of twi, that doesn't necessarily apply to others.
