Outandabout, thanks for sharing. You probably don't remember me, but I remember you. The branch coordinator in Amarillo wasn't as on the ball as we thought she was. Obviously, you should have been treated much better. And I'm amazed that after all that, you went into the Corps! Anyways, thank God everything turned out ok. :)-->

Waysurvivor, how do you define beating? There's beating, and then there's BEATING. I think twi defined it as getting their attention, use of the spoon when children did not obey your commands, then talk to them and console them afterwards. Never beat them to a pulp so that you leave marks and bruises, so that you get angry, because then the whole purpose of the correction is lost or supplanted by the beating, and you at that point are probably abusing your child. In other words, there's a right way and a wrong way to use the rod of correction. :)-->

Are TWI's corporate motivations steal, kill and destroy?

Mj, I agree with everything you've shared on this. I still believe that we're born again of uncorruptible seed! Walking by the old man doesn't change or destroy that, thank God.I remember as a youngster in the Roman Catholic church, I was taught that I must confess my sins before I died, otherwise I wouldn't be exonerated. But then I wore a cloth pendant, hoping that if I forgot to confess a sin, it would be covered and forgiven. But I'm so glad I learned the truth and now don't have to worry about whether God really loves me, or whether he's going to let me live in his kingdom or not. And let's not forget Mary the Mediatrix. "Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, amen." How many Hail Mary's will get one into heaven? I'm glad I'm not under that yoke any longer. :)--> -
In Aug. of 1974 I went to Amarillo TX out WOW, 7 twigs, 28 people. There was a young lady who, on the way to Amarillo, got possessed (the only way I know to describe it). She was getting progressively worse so from the time the Rock ended, to the time we arrived, was possession, or what seemed like it. Totally out of control, foul language, fierce, visage changing, the works. She was sent packing, home. Don't know if the branch coordinator called her parents, probably, but Valerie52 might know more about this than me, cause she was in the branch coords. family. Anyways, looking back on this, I don't think it would have hurt us to send her to a local hospital and have her evaluated, on the ministry's dime, rather than send her packing. In this case, people's praying and ministering didn't work, but I'm sure this young lady didn't get possessed on purpose. She needed help, and we just let her go home.

Rascal, all those years involved, and you won't bear witness to anything truly godly because of twi. Not one thing of any real spiritual significance. I see something here; you appear to be definitely sold out to speaking and thinking evil about twi, and you won't budge at all. You can't stop speaking about the bad things, pause, and reflect about anything that was genuinely good on a thread designed for that purpose. No objectivity, no let up to your relentless focusing on people's sins. Won't even share your heart to even try to communicate something nice. Because you were with them years and years, I can't believe everything was bad in your life. It goes against human nature to want to stay there so long. That's why I can't believe a word you say. You're just unbelievable. Maybe sometime in the future if you ever try to be somewhat honest and forthcoming with the totality of your experiences, we'd have a basis to communicate and possibly learn something from each other. -
Are TWI's corporate motivations steal, kill and destroy?

Well, so is John, Romans, Ephesians. No point in continuing to argue about this. You don't think VPW is saved, but I do. Catcup, your view? -

Rascal, all those years in twi, and you won't share one thing that was spiritually profitable and godly in your life, something really significant at the hands of twi? -

I don't believe Galatians the way you're interpreting it, cause among other things, it contradicts a whole lot of other scriptures. Should I throw everything else out, and simply believe what you are saying irrespective of anything else? Doesn't the contradiction of Galatians (the way you're interpreting it) with John and Romans and Ephesians make you pause at all? Make you consider any other possibilities? -

Actually what I was asking was something godly or nice about the people, teachings, etc.? Your good experience, something genuinely nice for you to say about it? Something godly experienced at the hands of twi? Things you feel they did, said or taught that were "right on"? -

I'm waiting to hear Catcup's opinion. Rascal, there's also spiritual fruit evidenced in VPW's life. If he was all about evil works and that's it, I don't think we'd even be here on this board talking. I'm not and never have denied VPW's walking in the flesh, and walking by his old man nature. I've said it over and over again, that he committed evil works. But, I observe it is YOU who deny anything spiritual and godly about the man. It seems you define him by his sins, and that's it. That's why I say you are full of hate; because you haven't been reasonable or objective at all. -

I think VPW was born again/saved/converted. And I believe God when he says that those that are saved have everlasting life. Your turn ... -
Cheap shot, Sadie. Why do you disparage mj simply because she is sharing her opinion?

George, it's a tragic and depressing thought. The thought of eternal nothingness doesn't exactly thrill me. I can think of two things right off the bat: (1) spiritual/mental peace; (2) motivation to try to live in God's will. :)--> -

George, I still believe in the promises of God. Those promises are our hope for the future. Spending an eternity in darkness, without God and without hope, is substantially mega-bleak. :)--> -

dmiller, don't let anyone talk you out of the redemptive powers of the Lord Jesus Christ. Your sins have been paid for ... 1Jo 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: 1Jo 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for [the sins of] the whole world. :)--> -

My greatest week in TWI was July of 1973, when I took PFAL at Shelter Island, NY. Imagine learning all the goodies in Pfal in one week's time, in beautiful natural surroundings. That's gotta be the best way to take PFAL, if they ever bring it back. :)--> -
