  1. I remember going to twig in Manhattan sometime in the middle to late 1980's. Before fellowship, I asked the coordinator to please minister to me, cause I was feeling really crappy all that day. He said: well no, you need to hear the Word, and you will get healed. About 5 minutes later, with a concerned look on his face, he called me over and apologized, and said how foolish he was for thinking that, that I came to twig to be blessed and healed. So he ministered to me then, before the teaching, and I felt a whole lot better. I respected him alot for catching and correcting himself in what was less than God's best. :)-->
  2. Excathedra, thanks for the kind words. I never really had the heart to go back after that trauma, though I flirted with the thought from time to time. The burden was too great for me to bear. But what did Jesus say, my yoke is easy and my burden is light? ;)-->.Took me a couple of years to recover, but after that, being Joe Believer at twig was easy and light.
  3. When I am invited Belle. :)-->
  4. I vaguely recall VPW saying in the early '70's, that the best way Corps money should come is from the participant, or their family.I never thought of Way Corps sponsorship as a sham, but when you really think about it, how did Way Corps sponsors benefit? Not much. Were they taken for a ride too? Would have been much better had Corps folks saved up their own loot to join the Corps. But that's another stow-ry.
  5. Three weeks? Well at least you're on call and don't need to be there every day. :)-->
  6. Well since the tax system encourages more and more children, I think I'll pick up a few for tax reduction purposes. ha!
  7. Putting aside the oxygen content for a moment, let's not forget that Penta Water is simply good and pure W-A-T-E-R. That means all the beneficial effects of pure clean water on the system, whatever they might be, would be realized while drinking Penta just like other pure waters. They say they've done tests and it's supposedly easier to be assimilated and hydrates better than other water. Whatever. I do know that it gives lots of folks a feeling of well being, so I say go for it. LOTS of folks buy and enjoy this stuff. Yeah it's expensive, I guess around 50% more than its competitors. I wish it were less expensive.
  8. Craig actually wrote me a letter a couple of months later, asking me if I had reapplied... Wasn't in the same mindset though. Oh well...
  9. It was a traumatic experience, no question. Didn't have the ambition to get back in there. Almost, but no dice. I tip my hat to those who couldn't finish one year, but then finished later.
  10. Krys please don't be intimidated. I like to hear your stories. Let's not forget that scientists can't prove God exists either, yet He does. "For those who believe in God, no explanation is necessary... For those who do not believe in God, no explanation is possible." :)-->
  11. Sunny Sanders was a corps coordinator? I was there for 6 months, and never had so much as a 5-minute conversation with her. Wish I had though...she looked like a nice person.
  12. I can definitely relate. Your whole world crashes abruptly. Suicidal thoughts at 19. If it weren't for Mom & Dad, I might have actually gone thru with it. But they let me hibernate and recuperate for 2 months in my room. Then Dad kicked me out. :D--> He wanted me to join the army. ha ha ha ha hha ha
  13. I've served on three juries. First case was armed robbery. The verdict: hung jury Second case was misdemeanor assault. The verdict: not guilty Third case was federal bank fraud. The verdict: guilty Here in NY they have a system where you call the phone number the nite before and see if you're supposed to appear the next day. Lots of times, you don't have to go in at all, but be on call. If you're lucky, you'll only have to be there for a couple of full days at most, then if you're not called for a trial, you get excused. But if you're called for a trial, you could be there for 2 weeks or more. Do what Belle said if you don't want to sit on a jury, that sounds pretty effective. :D-->
  14. Me neither. Penta Water. taste great, less filling
  15. Jennifer you made my day. Thanks. :)-->
  16. Nice to meet you too. There are quite a few respectable folks here and hope you make many friends. :)-->
  17. welcome to Greasepot Jennifer Nessle :)-->
  18. The whole context of this thread, as I see it, is twi is now kinder and gentler not as bad as in recent years, and some folks want to invite some of us back. I don't have a problem with that, so if someone invited me, I'd go and check it out. No compulsion. No anxiety. No commitment. Just relax and enjoy. What harm is that? :)-->
  19. If a local fellowship invited me, I'd go. No strings, just fellowship, unity of the spirit in the bond of peace. Don't know if that's the way it is now, as it was in the past, but I have nothing to lose in trying to find out. What is there to be afraid of? With the added years of knowledge and wisdom, it might even be a decent experience. Might even run into some folks who are not demons. :)-->
  20. Entrance into the Kingdom of God through Jesus Christ, taught by VPW and other folks in twi who loved God, Jesus Christ, the bible, and each other. If that was a snare, I'll take it every day. Pass the kool aid and the ring dings. :)-->
  21. I knew folks years ago who came and went and came and went to twig as they pleased, with no strings attached. No compulsion. Folks were freely availing themselves cause twig was so good. I personally witnessed it. My own mother went to twig for a solid year, even before taking PFAL. No pressure to take PFAL. No strings, just great fellowship and blessings at twig with likeminded folks who justed want to love God. I still remember the good 'ol days. :)-->
  22. But if simply invited to go to a Sunday morning fellowship, no strings attached, would you go?
  23. It's kinda amazing that some folks aren't the slightest bit interested in going back, even for one fellowship in a person's home, just to check things out. I'd go if invited. I even bet a twinkie that I'd be allowed to worship my own personal God too. :)-->
