  1. The more I read that letter the more I agree with it. The 'mindset of total suspicion' was so true of that day and time, among other things he wrote. Right on.That's why the whole penchant accusatory mindset was based on suspicion. Nothing much concrete.
  2. Good observation lilbit. Thanks for sharing. To my knowledge physical assaults, drugs, and being a bum wasn't tolerated out WOW. Sex (other than adultery) was tolerated if consensual and discreet.
  3. Shut it down and come back home. ;)
  4. Goey you take one sentence out of what I wrote and make a whole schpeal out of it. Ok forget I said "hate". God forbid you be thought of that way. How about "justice"? does that meet your approval? You who want justice and want twi to die for all the wrongs committed. Heck you write enough about it. ... All I'm suggesting for some of you is, put your money where your mouth is and DO SOMETHING LEGAL about it. It's available...
  5. Ok, it was brainwashing then. It washed away many of my fears doubts and unbelief.
  6. Are you sure?Have you actually explored the legal possibilities? If you did, you'd find out it was that easy. Get 10 people from Greasespot who are willing to spend $100 a month for a couple of years and I guarantee you will find an attorney who can do a class action. But, you must be prepared to lose if the odds aren't in your favor. Still, its a worthy cause if your fed up enough. Lawsuits begin not because you are in love, but because you are very mad.
  7. lilbit, thanks for your input. BTW, it wasn't brainwashing.. it was strong "biblical research & teaching"
  8. Yes but part of the WOW assignment was to be able and willing to live with people who you might not normally get along with.Keeping that "unity of purpose" formost in your mind was supposed to be more important than individual personalities, and it was to most folks. What happened if Henry Baloko didn't get along with Maggie Muggins, and they moved Henry to another family, and Suzi Q didn't get along with Henry, and so forth? Heck, the leadership'd be moving folks back and forth all year long and it'd be one big waste of time. I think most did a pretty good job under the circumstances.
  9. Obviously otherwise they wouldn't be in business.I wonder if anyone has explored the different types of payment plans, or the chances of winning? Come on peoples, you who hate twi... ya gotta have some motivation to find out what you can and cannot do, and how much it cost? no? How about someone asking the Allen's lawyer to do a class action on a contingency basis? That way they get their third, and none of you have to shell out your own money. Heck, if I hated twi as much as some of you, I'd be on the phone right now...
  10. I'll pass on this thread...doesn't apply to me.
  11. I never left twi... they left me.
  12. Then they wouldn't be renewing their minds, right? I think it is possible for believers (who are willing and who practice the principles) to live together for one year. All it takes is some bible knowledge and gritty resolve.
  13. Several folks have mentioned a class action. I sometimes wonder why folks who are really teed off about their treatment haven't done this already, but all it takes is a number of folks willing to spend (pick a number, say $100 a month) for a lawyer (possibly the Allen's lawyer) and you can start a class action. So how about 10 people volunteer to spend $100 a month for a few years to get some fair recompense. (as noted, you probably can't bring them totally down by this method). A key ingredient in all this is to get folks who are willing to lose their $100 a month, because the end result is not guaranteed. The lawyer will be able to give you the actual odds. But hey, what's $100 a month? It's only money, and, as they say, sometimes you gotta "put your money where your mouth is" to get results. If you attitude is trying to right the wrongs of twi and help establish something good out of sheer principle, and if you're really mad enough, then maybe $100 a month is not a problem. Go for it.
  14. I personally believe he did.Not because I believe he was anything special or anything like that at all. To the contrary, he highly blew it in many ways. Just that twi was once a great place to be and many folks needed it at the time. The sweet fellowships; joy and peace with God; comfort in knowing God is alive and loves you always; an ever abiding assurance that the bible makes sense and has authority and reliability; knowing that you know you are God's son, sealed with holy spirit; etc. etc. These happenings are the fruit of a godly connection. They are the manifestation of God being at work in and with people.
  15. Yep. It's possible. To mention a biblical example, Samuel got revelation to anoint Saul as king, even tho later Saul crapped out badly. God knew this by foreknowledge, yet STILL told Samuel to anoint him. Why? Because at the time, Saul was the best man for the job. Even tho Saul did great evil, there would have been EVEN GREATER evil had anyone else been anointed. And so IF Craig was appointed by revelation....ditto. It's not beyond the realm of possibility.
  16. Mo and All, May I suggest the following: that if you don't like reading Mike, use your ignore or down arrow buttons. Nobody is forcing anyone to view Mike's posts. Also, a wise person once said "do not feed the monster." Meaning...the more you respond, the more you encourage. This was said about my posts a long time ago and it goes for my posts as well, as well as anybody's posts some are not in agreement with.
  17. Not necessarily. There may have been a cookie there. LCM may well have been God's choice. But God choosing someone doesn't necessarily mean that person will walk worthy of the vocation.
  18. On the contrary, I think my cat understands everything I say, he just doesn't give a damn ...
  19. Well, had it been someone else other than LCM in charge and the same happened, you'd probably say the same thing.VP selecting LCM didn't guarantee that LCM (or anyone else for that matter) wouldn't blow it badly. No man can guarantee the actions of another. And besides, everyone makes mistakes. Try to look at the big picture here. This question transcends twi. Why NOBODY gets warned about these fatal events ... Bible says they will happen, and that's about all we humans have right now ...
  20. How true that statement is ... I believe they never left "the ministry". The ministry left them.
  21. As I remember correctly, according to twi teaching, we "reach up in daddy's cookie jar" and if a cookie is there it is "available". But what you ask transcends even twi. Why no forwarnings about these events? I do not think anyone has the complete answer yet.
  22. I think you are laying on some heavy false accusations against Mike, regarding his supposed false god and Christ.
  23. I think you may be talking more of doctrine here than attitude. If you want to just take alook at the doctrine, it's in Ephesians 2. Attitude... well that's individual and the Word says to release the Word with boldness but sometimes that comes across as arrogance. Is the reason why you might think is arrogance because you no longer necessarily believe these things?
