Tony Collins-revisited-1981-82 Patriots. If you click on the reporters name--his email address comes up. You can write him and tell him about TWI. Sounds like he didn't do any research and just took this Johnson's "word" and ran with it. You can also write his editor or copy him on the email if you send one. If anyone is interested in doing this. Sorry-didn't see Sudo's post--I did the same thing!!!

Hi Jeff, This is so sad. It really is. I am so sorry about what happened to you and to your family--and also for those two who didn't drop what they were doing and help you. I wish I could say I was super nice in TWI and didn't hurt people. I wish I could say that I was not like that. I can't. I have had to repent from the bottom of my heart for how I treated some people. I was the twig/family coordinator my WOW year. Two girls--Me and another--then two guys. I loved one of my WOW brothers right off. He was musical-outgoing-funny as can be. I loved my sweet WOW sister. I could not STAND my other WOW brother. On sight I judged him as lacking. If I only knew then what I know now--it would have been different. I was so mean to him all year--by the end he just moved out. I would not even talk to him. I was a real (Insert any bad word). He didn't fit my idea of a good wayfer. I was awful to him--he tried so hard to please me. It makes me sick remembering it all. It was about acting--or perfecting the outside. "Doing" TWI's warped version of Christianity. There was no real change from the heart. At least for many of us. No transformation. That has to come from the inside and shows outward. It is what sets us apart. You can't go around "Acting" righteous. You just become legalistic and cruel. God softens and changes our hearts because we know His goodness and mercy. He has to do that--no "Leader" can tell you how to "Act". That is what it becomes--a man pleasing act. God is able to heal. I am thankful for His mercy--unworthy of it, but then again, it is not about me anymore. It really is about His amazing grace. His will, and His goodness which does lead us to repentance. I hope for those who hurt you--repentance and mercy--they need it--as do we all! I pray for GREAT healing goodness for you. You are so justified in your anger at the cruelty of it all. They just kept working???? We did kinda revel in other people's misery sometimes. Made our "Walk" seem more spiritual. That is a general "WE". I was at times a TOOL.

My son does this song(I cry) and no matter how I hear it--CD or my kid playing it--I weep like a baby. Kutless

Well, it is a good work you are doing. Those cats fell into a whole lotta lucky in you. For my job, I sometimes end up in not too great an area. Yesterday I was at this apartment house and the downstairs woman had 5 cats. 3 Kittens==a mama kitty and the brother--which is the father?? The mama kitty was less than a year old--the kittens were not being nursed because the mama was starving--she had walked away. I was so upset. I talked to the woman and fed the cats--then had to explain to her how very important nutrition was for a nursing mama. She did feed them, but so little. I helped the woman with food and did not take the cats. I am going to bring her food and set up for a free vet(Almost free). I wanted to bring them home, but I didn't want them near my cats. I think if I supply the food and teach her how to care for them, it will work out. She does like them--just a matter of being able to get food for them regularly. We will find a good home for the kittens as well. I will keep up with it. My cat Onslow--sits like a human--it is too funny. He sits up and always has his belly showing. I come home and he drops to his back and shows me his belly to be scratched. If I don't pet him enough for his liking--he kicks me with his back legs. When they were having their nightly treats last night--I told them there were starving kitties--that they should eat it all--clean their plates. They said--here, mail it to them, (swish tail,) I am full! We love our cats! Keep up the good work--they will be dropping to have their bellies rubbed very soon. I am sure they will forget and learn to trust more and more. They know they are safe.

I add my thoughts to that and Happy Birthday for tomorrow Yaz--69 years old ---many more!! Thanks for the memories--What a guy!

Marriage is the process of finding out what kind of man your wife would have preferred. Marriage means commitment. Of course, so does insanity. How can you tell if a blonde's been using the computer? There's white-out on the screen.

God gave us the Holy Spirit to help us seperate truth from error. God expects us to use our brain. He also expects us to have His heart--for those hurt and without. In coming to understand anything we are rejecting the facts as they are for us in favour of the facts as they are. C.S. Lewis

In 1987 Jack Morris at the Dome v Cardinals pitched the entire 10 innings to win the World Series for the Twins--they do have it in them!! That was a game, I was glued to the set. I think he was 40 or near to. Burnetts' performance against the Yanks last night--13 batters! I am not sure if Giambi had his mustache or not. Dice-K AGAIN walks em and wins??? Eckersley said he wants to throw-up when he watched Dice-K pitch. Pete Rose--great player--lousy manager. Maddux had to waive his no trade clause. It is the 2nd or 3rd time Maddux has been traded in the pennant race. This is his 2nd time with LA-he wants to go out in glory. TRADING DEADLINE? I don't think it means much? Shame about Kinsler--does he have enough AB to win the title IF Dustin doesn't run away with it?

Gee it sounded like the "Royal" we to me--When we use the word "WE" We don't mean W-E-E, we are using it like the queen of England refering to the immensity of the kingdom and everything it represents. We the queen of England. Reminds me of the time I was in England and they told me to line up for the queue--I didn't know if I was supposed to go to the pool room --or what? You know why they didn't play cards on Noah's Ark--cause Noah sat on the deck! What do you think the color of those living room curtains were? They were FIRE ENGINE RED!! What a crock!! Count me in with the "WE" who is still a bit ticked off.

Since this thread is also about how TWI steered us clear of Jesus I wanted to share this. It is NOT NOT NOT about the trinity. Hi, I see this and I smile, but I gotta tell ya twinky et al--you already know Him well. Do you know your bible? As ex-way I BET you do. Who is the living word? Jesus. Do you think that you bypass Him to know the father? No. The father is WELL PLEASED in the Son and loves Him with a burning love we do not even comprehend. He, The Father, put all things under subjection to the Son. That includes you. The only way--only way--only way--you know God, is through Jesus. He is God's heart to you. He that has seen Me has seen the Father--not an orientalism-or figure of speech--it is the truth. The Father is in Me and I am in the Father. The words I speak are not my own. The Father who lives in Me does His works. Twinky, you KNOW Him. That is the way you know God. It is so simple It is not some secret initiation. Or something others have that you have to work at---you already HAVE Him. And He loves you. All fullness dwells in HIm. He is the way God has expressed Himself to you. No other way. He is the way. That is it. Christ is ALL and in ALL. He is EVERYTHING to a believer. You already read His heart for you--you pray to Him--you know Him. By HIm all things were created and hold together. No other way will get you to God. Not tossing His name in at the end of prayer---you are actually praying IN HIS NAME. For now--call Him Bro-Uncle-cuz-dude I don't care--just call Him Lord. He is who you already know--No big secret--TWI messed with that one real good. Rascal was so right. My sincere LOVE to you! In His name. By No other name are we saved. :) BTW--I read your posts and have experienced a bit of your sweet tender heart--you KNOW him WELL!!

I have no doubt you will get there, I am going to leave it alone except for this. I KNOW that "dog under the table feeling". It is called conviction. I know what follows--it is called repentance. What follows that is forgiveness and salvation. To save you a step that can take years--just keep this in mind. If a God so Holy and Just is merciful and forgives--who are we to hang on to our sin. We can again try to tell Him we know best, or we can accept that He does. His way wills out in the end. I will see you at the feast! :)

Hi Rascal, Bingo-you nailed it!! Legalism with a "Bless You" thrown in for good measure. Perhaps with all our "Principles" and "Laws" and subset of laws--we should have been looking a bit more closely at Jesus' rebuke of the Pharisees. That may have just "Applied" to us, a bit more than is comfortable. We were, in some ways, like the prodigal sons "older brother" critical of how the father ran his affairs--standing outside while the feast was going on. We were very busy applying "principles" and doing the work, we missed the feast. However Rascal--it is not too late to join in--as it is still going on and we are still welcomed in by the loving Father.

I used to wear #8 all the time!! It was even my girls ice hockey #(Left wing) It wasn't for Yogi though--YAZ!! Mstar--I found a great article the other day on the waiver rules. It IS very nuanced, but helped me understand why the obvious need doesn't always get the player.

When I was a kid Puff the Magic Dragon--always made me cry. If my daughter hears it she still puts her hands over her ears and says "Stop"! A dragon lives forever but not so little boys Painted wings and giant rings make way for other toys. One grey night it happened, jackie paper came no more And puff that mighty dragon, he ceased his fearless roar. His head was bent in sorrow, green scales fell like rain, Puff no longer went to play along the cherry lane. Without his life-long friend, puff could not be brave, So puff that mighty dragon sadly slipped into his cave. oh! Elton John's Tiny Dancer does it to my husband and I, it was the song that was playing when my daughter was born. JIM You mentioned Peter, Paul & Mary-Proud mama moment--Noel(Paul) Stookey had one of my son's original songs on his desktop and used to play it for friends. :) We became friends with him when he lived up the street from us. Hubby and son met both Peter and Mary. Noel is a christian--his wife Betty a minister.

The other song that ALWAYS gets me is the ASPCA commercial with Sarah McLachlan "Arms Of An Angel" with her haunting voice and all those sad dogs looking at the camera. Oh MAN! I couldn't take it, I called up and was in tears joining the ASPCA. That was almost a year ago and I STILL cry when that commercial comes on. I try to change it, but I tell you, that commercial does it's job! I change that commercial as soon as it comes on--BBC America runs it all the time. I can't watch it.

Christians use the term Standing in the Gap--in regard to prayer and other things like Dan said. Seems VP had been standing in the gap for years in some sacrifical way--as his deformity would no longer allow him to do this. I don't get it? He just kinda remembered Jesus was the sacrifice and he was covered? What kind of pain meds was he on? Does anyone know?

I've always believed that if we're living according to the great commandments Jesus taught here, that we won't violate the Ten Commandments God gave the people back in Moses' day. Today I got to wondering if it's worse in God's eyes to commit adultery than it is to divorce. If God allows divorce--gave it to Israel, but hates it--is it a sin when there is a way made for it? Adultery is a sin-but God hates divorce -- Adultery seems worse. What about in cases of abuse? I can't stand it when I read accounts of women submitting unto death to some abusive *%#@#($*. I wonder if THAT is "Biblical" I did find an article on it once--I am quoting the conclusion(just read the fair use policy-duh) as I can't figure out how to link it. When someone is in an abusive situation--how can they even think clearly enough to work through this. Truth and judgement can become clouded. Get to saftey first!! Biblical conditions for divorce would include adultery, abandonment, and abuse. God does not want any couple to divorce. He stands ready to give hope, help, and healing. God loves those who have experienced the pain of divorce. He still has a wonderful plan and purpose for their lives and ministries. Would any good father still love a child who experiences the pain of divorce? Your perfect Father in heaven does. The Apostle Paul is proof. He was a Pharisee (Philippians 3:5), and was thus required to be married. By the time he wrote 1 Corinthians he was no longer married (1 Cor. 7:8), so that he was either a widower or a divorcee. He states in Philippians 3:8 that he "lost all things" when he gave his life to Christ; most scholars believe that he lost his wife when he became a Christian. In Paul's day, a Jew who converted to Christianity was considered dead by his family and wife. She was a widow, free to marry another Jew. We would say she divorced him. And he wrote half of the New Testament. What will God do with your life?

Ditto Hey Tom, I still think Byrd should have jumped at a chance to play for Texas--he coulda been a big hero. . . . Thanks for the info --to be honest--the whole waivers thing still confuses me--Who can go for Who--how much and why?? I just blame it on being blonde-that has worked pretty good so far. . . . My two cents--replay will lengthen the game and spoil the fun--I love to watch the managers get the boot. . . . .

I would have chuckled at this before--but those guys have some heart. The only other team I watch with any real interest is the Twins because of in-laws who live at the Metrodome. 5 Brother-in-laws who hate the Sox-love MN. I gotta be able to converse with them!!LOL I even saw Santana pitch. BUT Texas gave me so much fun the other night--they are now on my radar--give em a pat on the butt for me! . . . . . . . . . . . . . Just a joke Tom.
