Actually I think there is a step that churches teach that you may have missed. . . . that coming to Jesus moment called repentance. Part of being born again. I think they use both Jesus and Jesus Christ in church. . . . . since it is a personal relationship with the Lord. . . the name Jesus is spoken with reverence and held in honor. Not all churches are good, but there are many wonderful churches who preach the gospel. You should go to one sometime. . . might just surprise you.

Linda, I had all these same problems. I couldn't load the "song" thread. . . no drop down menu. . . but, once I switched to Firefox it all went away. It is only with IE I have these issues. What browser are you using? Try Firefox. . . . fixed everything for me.

Yes, I agree. . . . and it did take some guts to come and offer to answer questions and discuss the program. . . albeit with caveats. I am all ears and would love to hear the answers. . . . . I am sure he will discuss these things. . . he freely made the offer. So, if I forgot. . . Welcome SG09! He now has a few questions to pour through. :) The stories here ARE difficult to hear and process. . . some so heartbreaking they have to be taken in small doses. . . I imagine he teaches the same Christ denying arcane garbage that we called "the word" in TWI. You should RUN not walk to the nearest bible believing church you can find. . . . find a qualified Pastor to help you undo the absolute lies you have certainly learned from this family and you should stay far far away. I think I would rather tell you to be an atheist than believe a word they teach. . .Those kids were indoctrinated right along with the rest of us. . . . Pretty much sums it up. . . . and because we had the special "keys" to the kingdom. . . we had all the special secret knowledge that God had hidden from almost every other Christian(His children who actually obeyed Him) for centuries. Never mind all that holy life. . . or required to love stuff. . . we had the keys to interpreting the bible. We knew what He really meant. . . . wink. . . . wink. . .

Jesus spoke in parables. . . . God's nature is paradoxical. . . . the bible says that God may be hidden. . . it also says the Holy Spirit reveals truth. . . it says no man can know God unless he knows the Son. . . .I am not so sure that without being drawn. . . one person has any better understanding than the next. The Pharisees of the day were not exactly religious slackers. . . they tithed mint, anise, and cumin. :) Yet, they were somewhat clueless as to what was right in front of them. I don't think the arrogance lies in trying to explain the bible. Teachers teach and the bible proclaims itself to be more than a book of poetry. It calls for teachers. I think it was in TWI's intellectual pursuit of the bible without genuine repentance and conversion. Again, the bible actually addresses this. Scripture is not always crystal clear. . . .and ironically we were fond of saying. . . . "God says what He means and means what He says."

RumRunner, I was reading an old thread that had a certain well known poster on it. . . . as one might I glanced at his profile. . . . he has not posted lately. . . . but, someone had gone back to 100 of his old posts to mark them negative and give him a bad reputation. http://www.greasespo...1237-whitedove/ That is serious dedication to the plus or minus button. Farmers shoot them to hang on the edge of their gardens. . . old timers. It is a disgusting deterrent, but I guess effective. I just think it is gross. And yes, same thing I told my children. . . don't handle them.

Married to a Twins fan. . . there has to be some give and take. . . we listened to the game last night on the MLB audio thingy and WOW what a game. 16 innings. . . Twins tied it up twice. . . the second time in the 14th. The Tigers came back to win in the 16th, but that really was some exciting baseball. For a bunch of toddlers, that is a fun team to watch.

You can also add one ounce of Listerine to the gallon of soapy water. Set your hose end sprayer on one ounce (If you have one) and spray the bush. Don't do it within two weeks of harvesting. If you have mulch near the bushes it may attract a certain kind of caterpillar. . . soft mulch brings one. . . hard mulch another. If you do spray the decomposed bugs back on the bush. . . it may deter the bugs, but attract larger things like crows who will just eat the berries. You can always hang a dead crow near the bushes. . . that deters them! :) Gross, but farmers do use this to keep birds out of their garden. YUCK!! I must not have read enough. . . I am confused as to why you would need to hill corn? We have never done this. . . I have never seen it done? Is it because you are planting beans along the bottom? It must have been back a few pages, but someone posted about Willows. I bought some from a mail order thing about 10 years ago. . . accelerated growth. . . the size of a pencil when I got them. We moved them all around the property. . . . drove hubby crazy. . . finally I lined the side of the garden near the road with them. . . we composted them with the sheep "stuff" and they took off. Huge trees now. They don't weep, but they are the talk of the town. They just grew like crazy. . . full size trees and a nice block for the road. At the same time I planted the willows I planted a scrub tree that I dug up from under a high tension wire. One scraggly root hanging. Everyone laughed a me. Told me it would never grow. It is a mystery tree. . . but it now tops the house. We put it behind the playhouse in the back and it gives lovely shade in the summer. . . . . I still laugh and mutter " Tell me something isn't going to grow!"
