  1. I found this about Rosie. Can't speak for its accuracy. https://enacademic.com/dic.nsf/enwiki/1589401 Relevant bit reads: Rivenbark is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and received a master's degree in English from Appalachian State University ref|sidney1. Prior to her work at The Way International, she worked in the field of education and taught at the elementary, high school, and college levelsref|sidney1.
  2. Knowles method of breathing? They did have a time of "teaching" us to breathe - something like, inhale for 7 seconds, hold breath for 5 seconds, exhale for 10 sec, or something similar (timings might well be wrong). I note from a look at a document on Knowles breathing (put out by Liberating Ministries for Christ, whoever that/they are) and that slow inhale, hold, slower exhale is actually the 6th of 6 exercises, and only to be done after other muscles in the chest have been strengthened by other exercises. Anyway, here's another effort at plagiarism. Note the names of the "authors." (You can also get this book as a free Google dox download). It appears to have been sold in TWI's bookstore at one time. Probably a "required reading" book that they could scam more money from. https://www.amazon.ae/Knowles-Method-Breath-Training/dp/1481209965 It seems also to be promoted by various splinter groups - Eternally Blessed, for one. That guy had some dealings with the cafe a while back but doesn't post here any more, as far as I'm aware. But the original appears to be a book called "New Life through Breathing" and several people have republished it, with their own forewords so presumably it's something else that's out of copyright that that thief VPW stole/attributed to his own workmanship. https://www.abebooks.co.uk/servlet/BookDetailsPL?bi=30450584346&searchurl=an%3Dwilliam%2Bknowles%26sortby%3D20%26tn%3Dnew%2Blife%2Bbreathing&cm_sp=snippet-_-srp1-_-title1 Here's a free document if anybody's interested: https://lmci.org/BreathingForLife-PDF.pdf
  3. Do you ever wonder whether RFR and others ever ponder why they are so unpopular? Why nobody really liked RFR (supposing she had enough awareness to know she wasn't liked)? No doubt they'd say it was because of their "stand on the Word" (gag!) - an excellent catch-all when making an unpopular move - but do you suppose in their inner heart they know they're thuggish and bullying and too demanding? Sure, there's no "exit interviews" but enough outgoing clergy and WC have made their thoughts known (viz, the R&R letter, only one of many). The BoD can't be so unaware ... can they?
  4. Never heard this one, Allan. But if it's something promoted by VPW, I wonder if the "African" arrived during a snowstorm at a gas station in Ohio?
  5. I read the online version. So hard to grasp that such should happen. Such cruelty - and yet occasional great moments of compassion and kindness between father and son. And other moments of hideous greed. I too wished that it would be a different ending... so sad that Eliezer and his father were parted, at (as it were) one minute to midnight - just before their release. And yet this sad story is just one of - of millions.
  6. I don't think it was to do with any particular calling - like being really good at pastoral care! - more with biddability and willingness to toe the party line. Think of "Rev" as being a synonym for "manager" or "officer in charge" rather than a recognition of their spirituality.
  7. Good post, rubina. It was Google that rescued me, in a way, from TWI. I was desperately miserable and felt I had no alternative but to crawl across broken glass and grovel at TWI's feet. Needed their zip code to address my letter correctly. First item when I searched for TWI was GreaseSpot Cafe. Hmm, interesting name... what's this all about? My letter to TWI never got posted.
  8. Oh Waysider. Your final paragraph... If Ii posted what I really want to say, it'd be kicked off for being political. Let's just say, the forthcoming US elections present an opportunity for change.
  9. Beguiled, I don't give much time to TWI. I do visit here from time to time, mainly to see if there are any new people or visitors who can be helped. I learned stuff there (including "what it is not"), and I've learned stuff in the very good church that I attend now. You may find that most of the continuing Christians who continue to post here from time to time think much the same. Can't speak for others, but I find TWI increasingly diminutive in my rear view mirror. Too much to deal with in the here and now. I know the scars and long-lasting outcomes in terms of my life, both now and into the future, are still there. And will never go. But I choose to live my life now as richly and fully (and as warily and wisely) as I can. That's where my "mental time and energy go. My God, and the Lord Jesus, are far bigger and better than a miserly cornfield cult.
  10. Well, well. Vine's. Was written in part, I believe, by the very late father of a late client of mine. I still work for her son, who has the volumes of the books that were written. Bu it's so old now. Is it still subject to intellectual property / copyright law?
  11. I think we can only say, thank God that they didn't all have another 20 or more years so that they could continue to abuse innocent God-searchers.
  12. Not sure about this. The evolution would be complete if some of the Wierwille kids came back to head up TWI. But they haven't, and won't. Too busy with CFFM, which has taken a different track from TWI.
  13. I've just started reading this. I'm struck by (chapter 1) how Moishe the Beadle escaped being murdered and got back to the village to tell all exactly what was happening. Nobody believed him. Nobody thought such horrific treatment could be true. I'm struck by the fact that there were many who warned us that TWI wasn't a safe place to be. "It's a cult. It's not good Bible teaching." Did we listen? No, we continued, thinking all was well and would be well. We ploughed on into our own wonderland that became increasingly horrific year after year. And now, we who have escaped on our own or in droves - are not believed, not listened to, are mocked, by those who choose to remain. Bold speakers like Moishe the Beadle, and some of the people here - and of course many of the OT prophets - have ever been ignored and told that the bad thing foretold isn't going to happen.
  14. Welcome at last, RedSpringTulips. It's nice you've been a secret follower but have now decided to draw up a seat and sit with us. Have a cup of coffee or tea (or even a beer) and a cake. Put your feet up and enjoy the banter.
  15. I'm wondering if she sees that the WC is so small, and numbers continue to fall, and she doesn't want to be the one left holding the parcel when the entire shebang finally collapses. Then, she can blame the ultimate failure on somebody else. I don't doubt that in leaving the Prez-ship or whatever she called herself, that she negotiated a good exit package. Rather than a regular weekly or monthly pension, maybe she negotiated a biiig lump sum, which couldn't be clawed back from any assets that will have to be distributed if TWI is wound up. You can be sure she didn't leave empty-handed, like so many other staff who were kicked out with nothing.
  16. Hmm, @Allan A handful of Jews also managed to escape to Australia, because that country was slow and reluctant to accept what was staring it in the face. "....By the outbreak of World War II in September 1939, more than 7,000 Jewish refugees [who classed as "enemy aliens"] had arrived in Australia....Altogether, 8,200 Jewish refugees reached Australia between 1933 and 1945..." The document doesn't say where these people came from, whether Germany, Austria, Poland, Holland or any other country. Extract from this short document: https://www.yadvashem.org/odot_pdf/Microsoft Word - 5787.pdf
  17. Well, it's said that the first 100 days is the most important in any new administration/corporate changeover, etc. Not quite sure when Vern was installed as Prez, but by 1 May he was writing a Prez's blog. So, as of now, he's at least 66 days in. In his own words, his manifesto is: "...This was the heart of our Founding President, Dr. Victor Paul Wierwille, and it is still the model for leaders in The Way Ministry today. My goal is to minister and to serve you the most valuable thing available on the face of the earth, the rightly divided Word of God. [as set in the VPW model]."...I am excited to lead our Biblical research, teaching, and fellowship ministry as we endeavor to move in the direction of God’s omniscient guidance. Together we can kindle our passion and zeal and strengthen our firm commitment to see God’s glory and power manifested in our lives; we can take that Word which prevails in our hearts and move it to the world!" That's some excellent Way-speak. Just take a look at the jargon and buzz-words. Here's his statement in full: https://www.theway.org/blog/a-sharing-from-our-new-president/ Doesn't look like much choice under Skyrider's two alternatives: 1) Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results [known commonly as insanity] or 2) Have the fortitude to make the hard decisions that challenge the status quo and everything that you've been doing the past 30 years that twi claimed were "doing the Word." Of course, Vern isn't limited by Sky's reductions. Vern might have some "third way" or even "fourth way."
  18. Now that'd be nice to know.
  19. And go and visit some of the cities in Europe that were emptied of their Jewish populations. See where they were forced to live, work. See the lists of names in the remains of synagogues; and the records in other locations.
  20. There is a small number of survivors still alive, and some have written books. Others have died in the last decade or two. There's talk of 6 million people of Jewish extraction. There are also millions more of other groups: gypsies, darker skinned people, homosexuals, disabled people - and intellectuals. Some estimate these others at about 4 million; they're often completely overlooked. Even now, the true numbers murdered by the regime are unknown. For this reason, I'm very alarmed when any bunch of people start demonizing any other group. It starts somewhere. Let's demonize ... hmm, Muslims. Yeah, they look different. Let's focus blame for all our problems on them, they're different. NO!!!!! Some are bad people and/or extremists. Most are not. Deal with the hate, inequality, privilege, issues. (I won't say any more, or this could become too political, and my intent is not that but to get people to examine their own prejudices.)
  21. Twinky

    Anyone else?

Wow. that is weird. I can see that some of the liars at TWI might deem someone who'd left as "dead" but how very unfair to little children, to be told that one of their parent is dead, when basically all they' done is walk away from the strictures of TWI.
  22. Twinky

    Rosalie is out

(So no point in this new thread.)
  23. Yes. Po-tay-to (US and UK/Commonwealth) BUT to-mah-to (UK/Commonwealth), to-may-to (US). Dunno why.
