Game Five What a nail biter. Good hard fought game. Both teams deserved to win. Glad the 'Canes came out on top. Our rookie goalie, Cam Ward made some unbelievable stops including a breakaway one on goalie. Series moves to Buffalo. Canes need one more win. Go Canes!!!!

I notice the sash that the ordination candidates are wearing in the first picture bears resemblance to Jewish prayer shawl.

'Canes Win Game 4. Series even a two games each. Series leaves Buffalo Wings to Carolina hardwood coal pulled pork BBQ country. Buffalo really missed Tallinder tonight in their 4-0 loss to the 'Canes. Sabres power play was clearly not working either (0 for 3 and only 1 shot on goal). 'Canes veteran goalie Martin Gerber posted his first post season shut out. His performance tonight was absolutely spectacular 20 something saves. Gerber played for the Hartford Whalers which became the Hurricanes. Go 'Canes!!!!

Sabres deserve the win in Game 3. Four goals not Cam Ward's fault. I will echo eb's words for game two... we ran out of time, we had a strong rally, we peppered Ryan Miller with shots in the last few minutes...in fact I believe the Canes outshot the Sabres 3 to 1 in the last half of the third period. Canes have to win game 4. If they do they will be in great shape. Game five will be on home ice. I think everyone would agree that this series has been the most interesting of the playoffs regardless of team loyalties. All games have been settled by only 1 point.

Canes Win, Canes Win, Canes Win!!!

Hats off to the Sabres in Game 1 especially Ryan Miller the goalie. We threw everything at him including every urinal in the RBC Centre at him and he was stalwart throughout. I don't feel bad. The 'Canes gave it everything they had today. Today the Sabres were a better team. It takes four wins.

Linda, Keep your chin up. Stranger things have happened. How about the Red Sox being down 3-0 in the ALCS to come back and win the pennant and then go on to sweep the Cardinals (arguably the best team in baseball at that time) to win the World Series. Remember the immortal words of Winston Churchill and the late NCSU mens basketball coach, Jim Valvano (whose Wolfpack surprised all the oddsmakers by beating the heavily favored Houston Phi Slamma Jamma for the national title)...NEVER GIVE UP, NEVER GIVE UP, NEVER GIVE UP (Churchill)...DON'T YOU EVER, EVER GIVE UP!!! (Valvano's farewell address as he was dying of cancer to the Wolfpack faithful). Go Cavs!!! Go 'Canes!!!

Hockey Hubris Herodotus in recounting the defeat of the Persian invasion of Greece, notes that the Persian king Xerxes when upon encountering a violent storm (Hurricane) at sea, ordered his men to take their Sabres and slash at the wind and waves. Herodotus has us to note that it was this act of hubris that sealed his defeat at Marathon and Salamis for he dared to defy a force of nature (Hurricane) with mere Sabres. GO 'CANES!!!!!! P.S. Though toothless hicks we may be, we love our 'Canes...

A friend asked me if I knew that the Feds were requiring a serial number to be stamped on every condom. Puzzled I looked at him and said, "No." My friend looked at me and smiled, "Hmmm, I guess you don't have to roll yours back far enough to see it."

I would query the former First Lady. When is oral sex ever bad? Oddly enough, I saw a t shirt today that said "Will someone give W a blowjob so we can impeach him."

Aunt Bea thinks the Stanley Cup would make a nifty jello mold. Goober knows a good hat trick when he sees it. Martin, who? Opie knows Cam Ward is the best goalie in the NHL rookie or veteran. Andy knows the 'Canes power play is the best in the playoffs and 14 of 48. Most of all, Barney really wants to drive the Zamboni. Everyone in Mayberry is a Caniac. Go 'Canes!!

Ryan and I cued up Dark Side of the Moon with The Wizard of Oz a few years back to see what all the hoopla was about. The most interesting confluences were the scene with Dorothy's house lifted up by the tornado, Toto jumping out of the lady dog catchers basket, the first appearance of the wicked witch and the cowardly lion. Go 'Canes

The apple did not fall to far from the tree, it is clear. I see some of Mom's influence especially in the point shoes. Your kids accomplishments are sweeter than your own always.

Happy Birthday Roy!!!

This could very well explain why there are more Democrats than Republicans. Republican wives get the short end of the ahem stick and are more likely to forego conjugal activity than their Democratic counterparts.

I support the troops and you Oilfield Medic even I don't think the Iraq War makes us secure. Finishing the job back in 2001 in Afghanistan and Pakistan would have done so. I know this is . I try to remember to pray everyday for the safety of the troops and civilians in Iraq. When I hear of the suicide and roadside bombings, I think I'm not praying hard enough.

While traveling through the Chicagoland area on business, I visisted my WOW sister and her family. Kendra and I were WOW's in Dallas in 78/79. Kendra with her husband Pat and three children were wonderful hosts. Kendra and I enjoyed recounting some of memories of that year like $1 movie night at a nearby theatre. Kendra had this huge shoulder purse into which we stuffed popcorn and a six pack into order to smuggle them in.

Cool, Like you I vehemently oppose the agenda of hate and poisonous racial and religous bigotry of the Ku Klux Klan. However, my gut instinct would be give the guy the benefit of the doubt that he has changed if you are satisfied with he has unequivocally renounced the hate and bigotry of the Klan. Here are some questions you may want to ask? How would you feel if your child's best friend was black and he asked you for permission to sleep over? How would you feel if childs school dedicated a week to understanding the halocaust and brought in some concentration camp survivors to recount their experiences? How would you feel if your supervisor resigned and was replaced by a person of color? Why did you leave the KKK? What informs your new belief of inclusion of minorities in the mainstream of American society is a good thing? If he can provide you with straightforward and direct answers to these questions without qualifications. I would say give him the benefit of the doubt. If he hedges at all, he probably has not changed his attitudes.
