I think (but cannot completely recall) that that happened pretty early on. I remember some uproar when the IRS was reviewing TWI's exempt status (I think IRS code 501©3) and Martindork going off the deep end about government conspiracies etc etc etc

Good timing Oakspear - I was about to amend my post to say something similar. My objection is to the use of the word "always." I can indeed see how someone who habitually runs the stop sign (or if you prefer we can beat up on another analogy) could become calloused enough to decided "That law doesn't apply to me" - yes indeed that becomes doctrinal error - BUT I do not think you can apply that across the board to everyone every time (i.e. the use of the word "always").

I'll give you that point George - however you are talking about repeat or habitual practical error. Note that Marintdork was quoted as saying practical "always" leads to doctrinal - hence every time you make a mistake your doctrine goes down the toilet (properly pronounced twalay). That is illogic. Further if I separate practical as actions I practice from doctrinal being things I believe in - well we all know the folks that do the "California stop sign" (the slow roll through the sign) - they know they are wrong - so they have practical error and dangerous practice (per your lab example) but I doubt they truly believe that running a stop sign is, in fact, legal

Paw - perhaps start a forum called GSC services or such. I completely forgot about this thread and ordered some things recently without remembering the box in this thread. Keep things on that forum always pinned?

I've seen the same with both versions. The problem isn't multiple tabs as much as it you have a tab opened to a site that does continuous refreshes like CNN or FoxNews. It doesn't handle memory well under those circumstances. Now oddly enough I suspect the real problem is with MS Windoze. I have no problems with Firefox running on Linux but on Windoze it seems to have memory reclamation issues.

Well I swear by Honda for cars. Have had two with NEVER a single problem. Both were well maintained but I have to say they handled well, never broke, pretty comfortable. Now trucks are another story. I've been driving the same Ford F-150 for the last 13 years. With age a few things went awry but nothing major. It has been a real champ. Starts easy, extremely comfortable to drive, runs strong, five speed manual that is smooth as any stick I've driven (hmmm I should add that I have always owned a stick). Prior to that I had a Chevy Silverado that I think just as highly of as the F-150 but it wasn't quite as comfortable on a long drive. I don't think you can top American made trucks... So this raises the question - If we can manufacture such good trucks - why are our cars noticeably deficient in comparison to Toyota and Honda? Someone mentioned union labor either on this thread or on the auto bailout thread. It is interesting that a lot of Hondas are manufactured right here in the US - Tennessee to be exact. They have union labor etc - and still make a fine car and are still making a profit. I think (and this applies to the bailout thread) that the problem lies in the company management more so than labor unions. I am no fan of what unions have become - but if Honda can use American union labor, make good cars AND make a profit then there is really little excuse for the Detroit "Big Three."

I gotta go with George on this one. One thing that has not been addressed on this thread (in detail anyway)...abuse. Someone made the comment above that it is hard to compare our culture with OT biblical cultures. Abuse has become so rampant in the U.S. that I gotta give the spouse who is the subject of abuse a way out. Physical abuse is punishable by law - otherwise known as domestic violence. Other forms of abuse can be almost as hurtful. The spouse who is constantly - daily - hourly treated to abusive and hurtful insults and words. I don't mean the occasional "fight." I mean a daily event. I gotta give the victims of that a way out as well. And lets go to more sensitive topics shall we? Someone asked the question about someone who was in a coma for a length of time. What about other diseases? Drug/alcohol abuse? Bipolar? DID (used to be known as schizophrenia)? Those disorders can be as deadly to the partner as they are to the person who is diseased.

Yep - I remember that - he did the same with the corps. As I recall (and don't count on my recollection) VP had some story about the CIA Jonestown as an excuse because there was some secret military base they raided and brought back some high tech stuff in the same type of coffins that were used for the bodies.

That was, in a twisted way, kinda funny. Twas also a bit of a "blast from the past" That whole Jonestown scene happened my first year in rez and of course we were treated to one of the usual Vic/Craig rants about it. It, of course, was labeled a counterfeit etc. By the end of the year the A/C had a session on the place. Now...in retrospect didn't we have the same conspiracy mentality shoved down our throats? People out for Vic with guns, global conspiracies, etc. etc. etc. Vic was smart enough not to go down the koolaid route as that would have limited his ability to have a new Harley every year along with his fine pimp coach

I think if I had to choose the best character it was Fat Freddie's cat...although I'll give a close second to any of the other three. BTW did you know they even came out with a board game called Dealer McDope????
