Waysider, It is indeed "Rocky Top". It has been recorded by many artists. Just got back from UT Knoxville where it is a "theme" song. Have always enjoyed it. Suda

Sounds kinda like the theme song for F Troop, the tv series. But would have no idea who sang it. Maybe the F Troop Singers? Suda

Nothing shows up for me under google. However, there are 2 other people with my name in this area. One is a travel agent, the other a headhunter. We get drycleaning and prescriptions mixed up all the time. One year I was threatened by the dry cleaner that all "my" beautiful Christmas sweaters would be donated to Goodwill if I did not pay for them and pick them up. I took a look at them and knew someone would be heartbroken to have forgotten them, and have them given away. So I paid the bill and kept them in the closet. Sure enough, one November the dry cleaners called to see if I had the other person's sweaters. They said they had no idea how the mix up could have happened (so I reminded them). So she got her sweaters, and I got reimbursed for the bill. Have never met either one of them. However one is a known shoplifter I have since found out. I thought it strange how I would get these funny looks when I would check out at stores, and they wanted to search any bags I may have brought in with me. I never objected. Now the places I frequent know me and treat me warmly, not with suspicion. Suda

Thanks to help from my friends, especially the Strange one I venture the guess . . . Marcus Welby, M.D. Just a note of interest, I met Robert Young (aka Marcus Welby, M.D.) summer of 1975 or 1976 when I went to visit a sorority sister's family in something like WestLake Village, CA in the greater LA area. He was her next door neighbor. Was floored at the cost of real estate. They had a nice home with a pool in the back. All the homes in the subdivision were very similar. But they were not what we would have considered homes for wealthy people in NC, more middle-middle, or upper-middle income type homes. However, I would have been hard pressed to purchase even a bathroom there! The cost of homes averaged $1 million even back then. Her Godfather was Strother Martin. He took us on a tour of NBC studios and we got to see all the "behind the scenes" things. Was really interesting. A nice guy. I knew him from Gunsmoke and other character actor parts he played. Was a fun summer. Suda

I'd like to hear an interview with Steve Heefner. For this weekend, no particular suggestions. Would love to hear anyone interviewed, or pick a topic and have people discuss it. Suda

First paying job in 6th grade, so I was 9. My father's clinic was installing a computer, so rolodex cards had to be made of all the patient's names with their computer # for reference. My sisters and brother and I worked in our basement, and put the labels on the rolodex cards. Made 50 cents an hour, and thought we were rolling in dough! I enjoyed it so much, that when that project was over, I started working at the clinic doing filing, etc. Also worked at the hospital assembling charts and filing them, and retrieving them. By the summer of the 7th grade, I was running the switchboard for the clinic full time in the summer, 7 am to about 6 pm. There were about 5 departments and about 30 physicians and their staffs. And it was ringing constantly, but I loved the challenge. By 12 was babysitting at night, during school, and working at the clinic and/or hospital on weekends and during summers. At 15, started working at K&W Cafeteria as one of the servers in the line. My first day was Thanksgiving and boy was it crazy. Advanced from Salads (lowest pay) to Hot Vegetables (highest pay) before quitting for a waitress job when I was 16 and could drive. Worked as a waitress all through high school, and summers in college. In college, worked in the Admissions Office for the Medical School during the week. Did modeling and worked in a clothing store on weekends. Also typed papers for people as time allowed. Always did enjoy working, but I'm tired now and don't like going non-stop like I used to. Suda

3 pictures. Hope it's easy enough that someone guesses quickly as I am leaving town Sunday and won't be back until Wednesday night. In my absence, feel free to validate a response you think is correct, and continue on. Suda
