  1. Deciderator, Some of the best parties I have ever attended were with my twig and branch. Halloween was always a hoot. Dressing up in "Biblical attire" usually meant it was like a Toga Party. Always lots of good food, drink, and music. The dancing was always fun. And New Year's Eve parties. Great times. Same good food, drink and music. No two drink limits. We would pause after welcoming in the New Year and pray and I liked that. Some people would head home after that, some of us would stay and party till the sun came up. I remember many really sweet fellowship times together when we would study particular verses that were perplexing to us. Learning to do word studies was lots of fun. Sometimes we'd come away with an answer to what we were studying, sometimes we'd come away with an new discovery on a different topic with the original question still unresolved. Always liked when the person teaching just talked about what they were studying and finding new and exciting to them. Liked it when people talked about problems they had faced and how they had found the answers. Always liked the practical application. When the twig fellowships stopped being fun and something I looked forward to, I quit going. So the majority of my memories are really good. IMO, the goodness in any religious or spiritual gathering is when people are excited about what they are learning, be it old or new, and seeing the results in their lives. Think that is why so many churches now emphasize the "Small Group" concept over the large worship services and even Sunday School classes. God is dyanmic and gets lost in bureauracy. He works best in individuals and then in smaller groups, imo. Have learned that here at GSC it's hard to have "positive" or "negative" threads. The one exception is in the Memorial Threads where most are respectful. Or the joke threads where the purpose is laughter. Glad to see you still posting. Hope you are visiting lots of threads and learning all that GSC has to offer. Suda

  3. I'll admit, I'm confused. Can't follow WTH's posts at all, and don't remember having this problem in the past. Suda (the dull knife in the drawer)
  4. Toppie, I'd be interested in reading it. Don't know how to bid on e-bay, but can figure out if you decide to do that. Or I can pay you what you feel a fair price would be, then I can sell it on e-bay once I'm finished if no one else wants to look over it. I think Elena Whiteside is doing seminars, but don't know for sure. Think I heard something about that somewhere. Suda
  5. Raf, Are you on the right thread? Suda (perplexed)
  6. When it comes to aspirin, ibuprophen, non-aspirin, etc., we always use the generics as they work as well for us as the name brand. Most generic pharmaceuticals works as effectively. Only had trouble with a few of the pain meds, but they have improved over the years, so we always try the generic first. Some foods I go generic with, others I stick with name brand. It's trial and error, and I use the generics I like, but go with name brand on some veggies. Suda

  10. Welcome to GSC Deciderator. Glad to have you here and listen to what you have to say. Some here agree with you about It is God and His Word that are most important. Sadly, too many had their focus shifted from the Word to the organization, and were deeply hurt by it. So to reveal the darkness of the organization helps in separating the truth from the error taught. You were fortunate to have escaped any hurt, and I'm glad for you. My hurt from the organization was minimal, also, and I am thankful for that. But for those who were not as fortunate, I am thankful for a place like GSC where they can understand how they were influenced to put the organization above God, heal from it, and move on. It's vitally important to them, and should be viewed with compassion not with contempt. It's not "bad mouthing" as much as it is sorting out a horrid incongruency, coming to terms with it, deciding what is good and true and holding on to it, while seeing the evil that was there and learning to leave it behind. May I offer you some coffee and a bite to eat while you peruse the Cafe? There is a lot of good here you can enjoy. Again, welcome. Suda

    Shark

Me, neither. The shark I have eaten has been delicious, tastes a lot like scallops. Even hear restuarants often substitute shark for scallops since it's cheaper and tastes the same, and shark steaks can be cut into the shape of scallops. But have no idea what kind of shark I ate, only that it was mighty good. Suda
