  1. confused...Welcome to the GreaseSpot... As far as "operating" something I learned in twi?... Gosh...I'm racking my brain...In hindsight, I think twi was too "mechanical"in their approach to Christian living...everything was reduced to a list of "things to do"...giving a certain percentage of money, going through your prayer list in the right order, learning your retemories, attending the meetings, the classes, etc., etc...I've abandoned that lifestyle for one that is more spontaneous...I no longer "classify" people like I did when I was in twi...Is he in the household, does he wear the right nametag, is he a "natural man" that has not had the class yet?...I don't think like that anymore...Instead of trying to get people to join my group, I simply get to know them and impart my heart to them...no strings attached, no green cards...simply living and interacting with other people with the spirit of God within me. I like to think of it as, instead of sitting around reading the owners manual, I'm driving the car...
  2. Lately, I've noticed quite a few new posters at the Greasespot...folks that have just recently left twi and decided to join us in our little "reindeer games"... congratulations one and all...hope to see more. Seems like Rosie is lacking a wee bit in the category of "charisma" (old Veepee used to mezmerize folks with his firey brand of preachin')...poor Rozilla can't even keep em from falling asleep!...but it looks like folks are waking up and heading for the door. Last one to leave New Knoxville turn out the lights.
  3. JustSayNo...excellant post...it would be nice to see you post more often... B) I'll respect your reasons... It makes me wonder how many other innies can see through them like a cheap suit...Sure, with numbers dwindling, I imagine that they have loosened up on the leash a little bit. but...isn't it a little bit like trying to give a face lift to a corpse?
  4. Nato...Glad to have you aboard! When I read your post, my eyes welled up with tears... We all know exactly how you feel...you're among friends here. Welcome!
  5. Do any of you good folks from N.C. know Mel Raines?...He was my WOW brother back in 1976...I tried "friend finder" to no avail...Just thought I'd ask. B)
  6. Yes...Of course. We were led to believe that twi was a noble and godly institution. It was a "magic" time in our lives...when we thought that we found something that was from God and provided real answers for our lives... ...Unfortunately, this concept of "I loved what I thought it was", was the very thing that allowed grifter Vic and king okie to "rule over us" and take advantage of our pure hearts. Had we believed that we were involved with a secular organization, we never would have fallen for the con. That's why I take exception to those who lie in God's name.
  7. Argus...Welcome to the GreaseSpot!...and such an "invigorating" first post! :P Yes indeed, many of us here have suspected the hidden sexual proclivities of Loy Martinfail for some time now... His almost hysterical fear of homosexuals seemed to be "against nature" to me. Perhaps he thought that if he had sexual intercourse with enough women, and that if he shouted loudly enough against homosexuals...that he himself might be "cured" of this "affliction". His unseemly behavior, which included the total disregard for other people, is an indication that "something" might have happened in his childhood to trigger his sociopathic lifestyle. His total disregard for people's feelings, his abuse towards women, his total lack of respect for the institution of marriage...all point towards some deep seated and hidden "problems" in his subconscious mind. In retrospect, I believe that he was an extremely insecure man...His own ego was more important to him than his responsiblities as a Christian minister. He thought nothing of trashing another person's life in order to make himself feel important. Was he a homosexual?...probably so.
  8. Not sure Tom, but He has his own website...can't think of the URL...maybe somebody else has the info?
  9. Raf...As you wade through the pages of Cliffe, beware! We wouldn't want you to open your mind to the "wrong" sources. B) As for me, I just started Tom Robbin's latest..."Wild Ducks Flying Backwards"
  10. sami...Take heart, while I was in twi, I turned away from my family also...after I left twi, I realized how much my family really meant to me...in other words, blood IS thicker than water...somewhere, deep inside them, those feelings of blood family still reside. They are dormant, that's all...the potential for those feelings to awaken again are always there.
  11. ...Take your foot off the hose... The line given to encourage the twi follower to give even more money!
  12. Yep...The "secrecy thing"...I can see how twi probably rationalizes this whole thing... Let's imagine a top twi leader addressing a large group of wayfers, concerning the "secrecy thing"... "Allright people, it's time to be vigilant. Our adversary, the great accuser, is putting forth a fullscale attack against God's true ministry...attacking us through accusations!...asking questions that minister strife!...twisting words and twisting meanings!...DON'T OPEN YOUR MIND to these devil spirits...you know what you've been taught, you know the present truth! Don't allow these accusers to defame the ministry that taught you God's word! IGNORE THEM...DO NOT ANSWER QUESTIONS!...Once you begin a dialogue with these devil spirits, you will become POSSESSED!...If you are approached by them, REFUSE to answer their questions, don't let them trick you..." Is that about right? B) One of the more serious problems with twi group think, is that it feeds upon itself. The "closed society" and the authoritarian power structure almost guarantees an end result of "homogenized regurgitation"...you know, it's when everbody thinks and speaks the same thing because somebody else told them what to think and what to say...and the poor sap who gets swept away in this, ends up with his individuality severly impaired and his self potential emasculated. Looking at the world through twi tinted glasses, promises a pretend world that is full of intrigue and paranoia.

    Lifeboats

This is an easy one...The vaccines should be given to everyone who is on the "left" of the political spectrum, while the rightwingers are left vulnerable...yeah, that's the ticket.
  14. Well, c'mon you guys...everybody knows that twi hdqrts is "holy ground"...the walls of Zion must not be breached...There is a spiritual hedge, filled with avenging angels flying furiously around the circumference of the property, carrying swords dipped in the blood of the saints...seeking out anyone who is not of the true household of Gawd... ...and when they drop the ball, twi's "Barney Fife" squad takes over...
  15. ...And on it goes...I was driving down the street and suddenly I had the "thought" to turn left at the intersection...there it was...a parking space! No doubt, revelation! It's impossible to verify true revelation...If the circumstances seem to fit, maybe it is...but then again, even a blind hog finds an acorn once in awhile... ...It just gets to me how these religious clowns are always running their mouths, as if they "know" something the rest of us don't know...bunk.
  16. I never knew Rhoda personally but she struck me as a hard working woman who had been raised in the farm lands of Ohio, who did things the old fashioned way. That woman literally gave her entire life to serve twi...and no doubt, did it honorably... ...your right, they owe her a lot, but instead of caring for her and rewarding her for her many years of loyal service, they probably kicked her to the curb...and never looked back. Thank you Dorothy, thank you Rhoda...
  17. Evan...could you give me the phone number?...This might fit in on the "revelation" thread that I started.
  18. I actually heard Mr Wierwille state that " a day doesn't go by that God doesn't give me revelation" Well, seeing he didn't seem to give him revalation about anything important, maybe God was telling him where he left the bottle of drambuie when he got drunk the night before... B)

    OHIO

NO POLITICS!.....Agreed!!! (I'm outnumbered) Is there a list someplace with the Ohio Greasespotters?..at least in our neck of the woods? pop rocks indeed! Gettin' drunk sounds like a plan though...
  20. Mike...You're killing me!   Oh Gawd!....I can't stop laughing... gimmee a minute.... ...I'm ok now I think.... So, my take on this is...you approached all these former twi leaders with your "discoveres" and they wouldn't listen to you...know why?....because they thought you were "daft", just like all of us here do. ...oh Gawd...here it comes again...
  21. No no...it's me. I'm the cyber bully. B)
  22. ...and I DO believe that God "speaks" to us... I guess I'm trying to draw a distinction between the genuine experience of God speaking to a person's heart and the flim flam artists who are shaking people down for money and lying in the name of God... ...and I don't presume to understand WHY God does what He does...and doesn't do what He doesn't do... It just chaps my a$$ when I see so many people getting sucked in to these religious sideshows, putting their faith in other people and end up being "spiritually exploited". Sure, I understand what you're saying oldies...Martindale was given the chance to fail...and he did it splendedly. I seem to recall Wierwille paining over the decision as to who to select...or at least he pretended to be. He seemed uncertain about the whole thing...In my opinion, Veepee didn't even know where the cookie jar WAS...
  23. I can tolerate a lot of things...but messin' with kids isn't one of them. I hope they throw this guy back in the can... Is there anyway we can find out if twi was aware of his situation and perhaps was "helping him" to stay hidden?...(if indeed he was hidden)... He may not be living at any of those addresses that I found...but if the cops are SERIOUS about getting this guy...they should be able to track him down. There's a lot more info available to get on the guy just by going to "intelius" (sp?)...they charge a fee for the whole 9 yards of info...search google for "intelius" and check their website. I tried to find Martindale on it...no luck. <_<
  24. Yeah....and we all love enigmas... ...maybe that's why it's so much fun watching rats, frantically run through a maze, trying to find that elusive cheese.
  25. quote..."Excuse my ignorance, but are 'splinter groups' something to be shunned?" jetc57...That depends on the individual. The subject of 'splinter groups' has been discussed extensively on numerous threads. For some, they provide a source of fellowship and bible teachings, an opprotunity to get together with old friends and a legitimate source of spiritual food... ...For others, they represent something less than that..."same cult, different name"... To each his own.
