  1. I am delighted to see a Muslim elected to congress and that he chose to be sworn in using the Quran. I think that diversity in elected positions provides for a truer representation of our diverse society and the fact that he wanted to take the oath using the book of his own religion is indicative that he takes his oath seriously... There were people who got upset when women, blacks, hispanic, oriental and gay people entered politics through the election process...I am not surprised that there are people who are upset over a Muslim congressman...especially in light of the massive anti-Muslim propaganda that has engulfed our nation via the government's so called "war on terror"... Governmental power has been monopolized by "rich white guys" long enough...I say we should open the doors of opprotunity to ALL Americans.
  2. I thought this post was worth repeating... ...There's a big difference between those who point Christ out to others...and those who seek recognition for themselves as being self proclaimed "ministers of Christ". God judges men's hearts but He also expects us to use the bullsh* t meter that he gave us.
  3. Hammer...The reason "these guys" start their letters this way is because that's the way that the aposle Paul started his epistles...and we all know that "these guys" are SO much like Paul of Tarsus...except for the part about spiders crawling out of the nose...
  4. Yeah...What Sudo said. Best wishes to all my fellow GreaseSpotters...may the next year be full of good things.
  5. ...Thus, "group think". Consensus theory seems to be the culprit in most religions...It's true if enough of us agree that it is? I suppose that if we all agreed that spiders coming out of somebodies nose in a dream is "prophetic", then it would be "true"...
  6. I noticed that Graeser said in his letter that they haul in around $60,000 a month! No wonder they offered him 6 months leave of absense WITH PAY! Just goes to show you, there's a lucrative market out there for former twi leaders to make a decent living...no wonder Mark G is so hesitant in stepping aside... After reading all these CES/STFI letters, it seems clear that each one of them thinks they are right in their own eyes. When you reduce this down to the basics, it's like some young kids fighting over a toy..."he called me a name"..."well, he called me a name first"...and on it goes. The fact that these letters have been posted publicly at the GSC speaks volumes. They could not resolve their problems "in house"...and somebody decided to air this dirty laundry in the public view...This self deprecating act, fueled by frustration is a clear indication that this house of cards is tumbling down...Even as these "gurus" of truth laid a doctrinal foundation of "repentance to man", their own zeal has come back to haunt them...but entertaining others through self-humiliation is something that Karen Graeser can probably identify with anyway...what irony. PS- I don't think Karen G is going to make the "lifeboat"...
  7. What I find curious is that these prophetic gum flappers are always sticking their noses in everybodies business but when something really bad DOES happen (ie: 9/11), they were as clueless as everyone else. Ever listen to these clowns on TV? Invariably, during a broadcast, "the mog of the moment" starts spouting off all the things that "God" has told him (usually has to do with somebody giving him money)...but he never seem to receive any info that would really make a difference and save lives...where was Benny Hinn, Rosie Rivenbark or Karen Graeser the day before New Orleans got hammered?...or does "God" only talk to them about ways to make money or the gossip in another person's personal life? spiders coming out of noses indeed! and yet, there's people who believe in these clowns.
  8. "arouse a predatory instinct" says it perfectly...and I would go on to say that once that instinct has "kicked in", the exploitation becomes as a drug to the predator...akin to a junkie needing a fix.
  9. lagates...Welcome to the GreaseSpot! Have some coffee and stay awhile. :)
  10. ...Exactly...the spider crawling out of the nose thing did it for me...I mean, some wacko* has dreams and you're gonna hang your hat on THAT?... *wacko-I've met this woman. ...(KAG)
  11. That's exactly right Hammer..."I don't have to speak with you, I've written a book on the subject!" A bit aloof?...or is it just me?
  12. Sounds to me like your saying that after you have a lengthy letter posted here, you announce that you are not willing to dialogue with us on this forum...just pontificate and leave? ...and because we use cutsie names? I'm sure that many here would be willing to tell you who they are if you would be willing to have open dialogue with us... The GreaseSpot Cafe is a community...you know many of us. We are not lacking in love nor in courage. Many here go by their real names...others do not. God knows all of us...
  13. I second the motion! One of the most liberating days of my life was when the black cloud of twi repression was lifted from my shoulders...and I could breath again...and I could think again...and I could pursue my own faith in my own way...and I was free again. Welcome to all newcomers...C'mon in, have a cup of coffee...we'll talk. :) Not so my friend...all of these posts are to you. You're a regular at the GreaseSpot Cafe! :)
  14. Having been out of twi for nearly 20 years now, I would estimate that at least half (probably more) of what Wierwille taught was wrong. The things he missed...he missed big. Some interesting observations in this thread...especially concerning huckster Vic's M.O. for indoctrinating folks...ya gotta admit, he WAS a good con man... ...even as so many of his proteges follow in his footsteps...even to this day.
  15. As I'm putting this together from various CK posts...he doesn't like to think, doesn't like to use his five senses, avoids his feelings and admits to having a closed mind... "demon upon demon"...Sometimes I forget that there are still people who think like CK...He's worse than an alcoholic in denial...but nevertheless, much more entertaining.
  16. Strangely enough, I like them both. After smoking for as many years as I have, my taste buds are not quite as "discriminating" as they once were...You could probably mix WD40 with my egg salad and I couldn't tell the difference. :)
  17. Hmmm...Let's see here. CK has decided that "thinking" is not a good thing to do. Afterall, utilizing our 5 senses invariably get us into "trouble"...and "listening to our feelings" will put us into harm's way. Now I understand! This explains a lot.
  18. Another year is ending...another upon us... The Marx family (Groucho, Buddy the black lab, and Pekachu the mongrel) extend our very best wishes to our extended cyber family and former cult members here at the GreaseSpot Cafe! May Santa's fat a$$ fit down your chimney and may you all avoid eating anything moldy or tainted. MERRY CHRISTMAS :)
  19. With over 500 posts and over 12.000 views on this thread, it'a apparent that this is a subject that impacts a lot of people...and it looks like part of CES's problem now is that more info and honesty is being expressed here at the GSC than in any of their "communication" channels on this subject...their people are coming here and checking all this stuff out. ...And that's a GOOD thing. There have been numerous posts on this thread that are intelligent, thoughtful and honest...posts that can be helpful to individuals who are considering their options. I have no ill will towards any of the leaders of CES...but I call em like I see em, and frankly, some of this CES "stuff" seems really nuts to me...IMHO. I hate to see sincere people getting hurt, especially when it doesn't have to be that way. Christians should place their trust in the Lord...fellowship with others serves to build and enhance that trust...not take it's place.
  20. The judge doesn't like the fact that this group is recruiting? The idea of a Christian ministry converting the sinner and getting them to join the church, is one of the defining elements of Christianity. Would this judge also accuse Billy Graham of "recruiting" with his ministry? From a practical point of view, it would seem that the judge would welcome Christian converts in the prison...especially when one considers the gang influence, the violence and rapes that occur in our prisons. For me, the bottom line is that it is a voluntary activity...nobody has to participate...and I think it should be available for other religions to avail themselves to prisoners as well. We hold prisoners in jail cells...therefore we have a responsibilty to feed them, clothe them and provide the basic necessities of life...I believe that this should include the right to religious worship. Religion in a tax supported institution?...Sure, why not?...as long as there is equal access to all religions...hey, these guys are a "captive audience". You can't send them out to attend the church of their choice...let the church come to them. Hopefully, this ruling will be overturned. The judge has no business defining what religions are valid religions.
  21. After reading Elizabeth's letter to JAL, I can only say that what I saw glimpses of myself, has been verified in a very detailed and from a very personal point of view. I feel sorry that Elizabeth was drawn into this experience and I commend her for her courage and insight. There is a lesson to be learned from all of this...whenever man plays God, disaster ensues. Prophetic council?...head prophetess?...dream interpretations? They are all "biblical" sounding terms but this organization is FAR from being of God. They are self indulgent, egotistical, wannabes who have trashed the lives of many people in order to bolster their own "spirituality"...but to whom? They seem to belong to some kind of self admiration society that give themselves titles and attempt to project an image of spiritual superiority, when in fact they are pitiful pretenders who have deceived even themselves. The solution that I would suggest is that these folks should dissolve their organization and each one should find an appropriate path for their own lives...many should simply find a good church to attend...other's should check themselves into a mental health clinic and begin intensive therapy...are you listening KAG? The road to hell is paved with good intentions. These people left one cult and ended up forming another one...kept the baby but threw out the bathwater?...it's more like they kept the bathwater and then drank it. ...And honestly, there are those involved who should have known better...Schoenheit, what's YOUR problem?
