  1. waysider...That's exactly what I'm talking about...every limb leader felt obligated to "oversee" the musicians in their state (else they feel the wrath of the MOG above them)...and most of them were clueless...they were trying to emulate the way VeePee micromanaged Way Productions...they "spiritualized" it and suddenly they were experts on music... In the meantime, the artists were being "taught" how to make their music "twi digestible"...and of course, individual creativity was smothered. I'd like to hear what Socks has to say on this subject...
  2. No...You're not the only one... Many people experience "residual effects" of the cult experience..."Time" is the great healer. The longer you are out of twi and involved with "healthy endeavors", the more complete your recovery will be...in other words, it gets better. :)
  3. What do I remember about the music?... I think that "America Awakes" by Joyful noise was an excellant album...I think that Good Seed and Pressed down were talented and had several really good songs... For the most part, I think that singers, musicians and song writers were in an environment that discouraged straying from the "spiritual guidelines" that were imposed upon their creative skills...IMHO, Wierwille had too much control over the whole process and conforming to his views were always the criteria...
  4. It will...it really will. :)
  5. There seems to be a prevailing "We versus Them" mentality that underscores all of these self serving cults and even some churches... ...It pays to shop around. There are good churches that are run by people of great humility and compassion...no feelings of superiority involved...they serve people and don't lord over them...but ya gotta look.
  6. That was good Chas...I agree with you that we should simply "talk to God"...forget the King James language when you do it too... It's a personal thing that begins with the understanding that He knows you better than you do... ...I think that sometimes crying is a form of prayer...laughing, sighing, being angry, being remorseful...all forms of prayer if they are in acknowledgement of His presence and you are directing them towards Him...it requires faith...not ceremony...oh yeah, and being thankful has "something" to do with it too...
  7. I enjoyed it...thought it was pretty cool to see all those people that are Sudo's age, singing a song by the Who...
  8. Luckily, I left twi before Martindale's presumptiousness had reached the level of dismissing Wierwille's class and replacing it with his own divine version, which should have been entitled: "The Abundace of his Mouth, Journey into Madness" I always thought it would be funny to get those guys who did "Mystery Theartre"...and have them make wise cracks through the whole thing...turn it into a satirical work of comedy...
  9. I wonder how many followers of twi avoid GreaseSpot but visit porn sites when "nobody's lookin'"...
  10. Well...I thought about whether to post this or not and decided to go ahead with it... After thinking awhile about your original post, I'd like to make a few comments...Some of my best friends and some of the finest folks I've ever known are ex-hippies, bikers, poor folks and people of other races (who don't speak English very well)...and their homes and neighborhoods would not make it into any "designer magazines"... It seems that your criteria for the ideal place to live is a place that's full of "white folks" who are financially secure and the neighborhoods are all prim and proper...and to me, that sounds very superficial and somewhat racist. You may discover that the "English speaking" folks you desire to surround yourself with can be very ungodly people at times and that money and "nice neighborhoods" are not always the recipe for quality life. If I've misunderstood you, please set me straight...
  11. OK...I'll be serious...I second what Chas said...I think New Hampshire is one of the greatest places on earth to live...It's absolutely beautiful and peaceful and the folks there are great...
  12. The last I heard, twi's outreach has been outsourced to "Moe Howard Incorporated"...they get new people to fellowships by putting a crowbar in their nose and dragging them inside.
  13. ...Why not just wait for your next corps assignment and see where Gawd sends you... ... ...sorry, couldn't resist.
  14. I've never had my head bit off but I've had it nibbled on a bit...
  15. Just a guess...but I imagine that the abs coming in today, by no means is enough to pay their overhead...they probably make much more on the interest and revenues from investments made with the abs money from the 70's and 80's...
  16. If the expense gets to great, maybe they can set up a "time share" program with a few other cults...You know, the Moonies can have it for a few months and then the JW's can move in, followed by the Scientologists...
  17. ...A remarkable song...so much heart...can anyone here NOT relate to it?...thanks Doogie.
  18. Anyone who is sponsered by Dewars Scotch whiskey is allright with me...
  19. I cook all the time by the seat of my pants...make em up as I go. Here's a favorite: A large can of Bush beans, chop up an onion, chop up 2 jalepenos, cut 2 links of Italian sausage into 1/2 inch pieces, chop up a tomato and simmer for about an hour...sounds crazy but it's really good.
  20. Don't speak for me...he may be YOUR "father in the word"...but to me, he was a lying, plaguriazing, woman abusing, drunk. ...and his class on power for abundant living was probably 75% wrong (at least)...ESPECIALLY his crap about the 4 crucified...The 9 manifestations?...they should have been called the 9 infestations
  21. After thinking on this subject for a couple od days, I think Bassinger did the smart thing by putting the call on the internet...the girl had ALREADY heard it...now it time's to expose Alec for what he is...and by doing this, the girl's situation will be understood...and she should receive not only legal protection but also reassurance that it's not HER fault...it's a shame that she loses a healthy relationship with her father...but that was HIS choice and now she needs to move in a positive direction. I think Baldwin is an arrogant blowhard who is in love with himself...too bad so sad.
  22. I'm thinking that Alec wishes he had never made THAT phone call...and I agree with satori...the child is the main concern here... ...Hopefully, the kid will be protected from further abuse...maybe some professional councilling for Alec?
  23. How did they explain that V.P. Wierwille chain smoked Kools?...or was that not known?
